  1. Yeah, you so right and you can drown in fresh water, too !! We better add salt to it it all so we can all float !!

Sorry, but your post points are beyond dismal but do illustrate wonderfully how ignorant most deniers are .

Interesting link, 1, 3 & 4 are IMHO counter productive and possibly dangerous.

  2. Really ? Please provide proof of these excessive private jets excursions and "big motorcades. " because I think that's more of the "Invented the internet " type dis- information.

I think history will remember the Gentleman from Tennessee one of America's finest public servants. I certainly do and making up lies, and bending quotes really just proves how pathetic the Earth haters are getting in their quest to pollute and commercialize for profit the entire planet.

I'll remember him from the "Mickey Mouse wears an Al Gore watch" joke.
He flies all over the world in a personal jet and drives around in big motorcades telling everyone to use less energy ... that's a joke too, but that joke's on us.

  3. Well you seem to forget it takes water to make food, fresh water that is and that is a commodity that is dwindling at an alarming rate.

And desertification is also a concern you forget that , too.

I'm not whining, I'm very, very concerned so trite comments are most unwelcome in such a serious conversation- but expected from those who cannot or will not accept their behavior affects others less fortunate.

  4. How would you handle a global dwindling of resources? Time may be here soon when there isn't enough to eat, because 1st world fat slobs had to eat steak for a decade or so past when the entire world should have pulled together to conserve.

MAN MADE Global warming/cooling/climate change = Tax and control.

The carbon tax is coming (alreday there in Aus).

And eventually we will all have personal carbon limits. What we can eat, where we can travel and what temperature we can keep our homes at will all be controlled by the state. An authoritarin's wet dream.

All because of something that is entirely normal and well within the bounds of natural variability.

  5. Oh dear again with the made up crap about Al gore " Inventing the internet..." As I responded on the world news thread ;

    http://www.snopes.com/quotes/internet.asp

Mr Gore as a US Senator did introduce legislation in 1988 and 1992 that funded the creation He never claimed to have invented it

The " initiative to create it, .." yes and thank you Mr Gore . In fact in 2005 he received a "Webby" award for his efforts.

I love it when conservatives argue using drivel that is so easily refuted

    I agree with post #6.

Interesting when severe weather with damages has occurred, and they say it is the worst in more than 50 years.

People jump on the wagon and say, it must be global warming.

I ask: So what caused it 50 years ago?

After inventing the internet, Al Gore invented the time machine and went back.

  6. What is really should be called is polar warming because that's what it is .

The planet is not a pot of coffee so to expect uniform warming across the surface is rather naive.

In fact, north western EU countries may well lose the warming caused by tropical currents being redirected.

Ice caps are melting, the evidence is indisputable and doing it fast and once the methane starts a runaway train effect, we could all well find ourselves in a very very unpleasant situation.

Honestly I think it's too late, we could stop all greenhouse gasses tomorrow and we'll still gonna be in for some catastrophic changes.

Would not be investing in Bangkok or surrounds real estate that's for sure. Already prone to flooding, and the government's ( any and all of them ) dismal ability to solve problems it will one of the first countries to really hit the skids.

I'd like to seem more concentration on population and resource control and stop the insane economic growth models that are unsustainable and only benefit the already obscenely rich .

Concur. As soon as they introduced money and taxes into the equation it has become the biggest con since organised religion.

Since there has been no increase in World Temperature in the past 15 years (IPCC report) they subtlely changed the term from 'Global Warming' to 'Climate Change', which we already have a word for. It is 'Weather'. it's been changing for eons.

The 'warmists' have even added another emotive arrow to their quiver. 'Extreme Weather Events'

Australia has been the world's 'Lab Rat' when it comes to scaring and ripping off the people, and being able to get away with it.

But we are resisting. As the results of the last Federal Election proved.

  7. Yeah, all those years, peer reviews and reams of research, totally proved wrong because you think a graphic looks more like smoke than steam.

    Case solved !!

Still gotta wonder if Al Gore (remember the book " In Inconvenient Truth") actually believed that he was doing the world a favor by manipulating data to suit the content of his bullsh*t book, or were there other more sinister factors involved? I've got to believe the latter because he even won some bullsh*t awards (including a Hollywood Oscar, I think).

Anyway, a large portion of the science community was saying that temperature shift cycles are normal and gave credible scientific evidence to show it, but Al Gore was still lauded and his pack of lies promoted. So, this news is not surprising at all.

I just remembered the over-sensationalized footage that is shown where huge walls of ice would shear off glaciers, The creators of such dramatic ads or documentaries trying to sell us the "global Warming" lies would use this footage for its shock value, and it was once again bullsh*t. Think about it -- they're glaciers so they're constantly moving. Of course they're going to reach a more southerly point where the ice melts and softens to the point where naturally it falls off. in the meantime, New ice is forming at the other end, as nature would dictate.

Yes, they are very good at showing emotive images. The one which always makes me smile is the large cooling towers with huge clouds of supposedly smoke billowing out. It's not smoke it's water vapour also known as steam:

Gee. Guess Al was wrong. But he still invented the internet.

One thing most conservatives have in common is having to make thing up to back their argument, this one is getting pretty old, but cannot let it pass

    http://www.snopes.com/quotes/internet.asp

The site does not allow cut and paste but essentially Mr. Gore, whilst serving as A US Senator, did introduce legislation in 1988 and 1992 to fund it along .

" ....took the initiative to create... " is the exact quote from the speech that is the source of this misinformation.

I think history will remember the Gentleman from Tennessee one of America's finest public servants. I certainly do and making up lies, and bending quotes really just proves how pathetic the Earth haters are getting in their quest to pollute and commercialize for profit the entire planet.

  8. ^ gawd, what a load of shit. Not everyone thinks cheap prostitutes make a country worthwhile.

to OP True major car rental companies require credit cards, but some smaller " Rent a wreck " types don't. Of course you'll need some cash. If you're e broke , seems a car is an unaffordable luxury

here 's a links if you really hit the skids

    http://voices.yahoo.com/a-survivors-guide-being-homeless-america-8689483.html

I found another thread about the driving issue with varied opinions.

The credit card is another major issue. I have a debit card(VISA) but when I left most rental car companies didn't accept debit cards....FYI, Thai electron VISA cards aren't accepted for online purchases either.

  9. Yes 200 + years of pumping greenhouse gasses into the atmosphere has had no effect whatsoever.

Please continue your selfish, fat-cat-assed agenda of consumerism and obscene profits for oil companies.

I bet every single denier on here drives a SUV and has lots of kids, too. Well your kids are going to see their quality of live erode, their kids might really have it bad. It 's here, it's happening just how fast is the only question

  10. Gov Maitri appointed himself the single source for information regarding any alleged deaths in the incident.

He has been backed by Phuket Provincial Police Commander Ong-art Phiwruangnont, who warned that anyone spreading false rumors about deaths in the incident could face swift police action.

First thing a govt does when there is information to cover up, is to make it an offense to discuss it.

  11. So far, no bodies have been found, an official said. A fire of that magnitude isn't really going to leave "bodies" behind.

They were calling for boots and rakes earlier to do " forensic investigations," tweezers and magnifying glasses would have been better tools. Maybe a sniffer dog or two..

Hundreds of tons of refuge to be further incinerated or buried at the landfill as I write this- no worries, carry on.

  12. Good grief, anyone who ever shopped there could see it was a disaster waiting to happen. All the customer exits were on one side of the building , no sprinklers, no alarms, ( there were fire extingushers , but they were dark green and had little signage) . Only reason it wasn't a " death trap" that particular evening is the fire (was ?) started late when most shoppers were already out.

    How convenient !!

I'm sure it is also impossible wholly trust Thai authorities anyway. Lying is certainly a common the way things are dealt with. If illegal workers expired, does anyone really expect we'd hear about it ?

My god, reports last few days have Thai officials selling humans into slavery- there's really nothing further to be said.

A building that isn't a death-trap doesn't turn into a raging inferno..........it also has fire exits and even possibly a sprinkler system and/or hand-held extinguishers.

Phuketjock, your claim that it wasn't a death-trap because there were no injuries is faulty logic.

So KB you are saying there was a raging inferno in a fire death-trap and there were no deaths, who's logic is faulty???

The fact that there were no deaths and only (possibly) some minor injuries tells me that logically, notwithstanding your

raging inferno, it definitely was not a death-trap. coffee1.gif

  13. Hello Krabians,

I am seeking to move the to the region, Krabi Phang Nga or Trang and am wondering if anyone knows of a realtor or someone else who can help me find about 2 - 5 rais with a small home to rent on a 3- 10 year lease.

Any style or size house is fine, as long as it is livable ( not a worker style tin shack) , don't need AC , etc and the land needs to be relatively flat , dry and cleared, I have a budget of up to 15,000 but would only spend that much if the home and location are very nice. Pets must be accepted

    Thanks in advance

  14. I had the very same question as I am leaving and find the prices to shut it down are somewhat outrageous- I had a conversation with the head of the local DBD and he told me over 3000 foreign companies in the province are no longer paying taxes, but are still listed as operating . He blamed greedy accountants for the exorbitant fees.

So it'll be a while 'till they get to auditing you. If you are leaving Thailand, just walk away. If you plan to stay however there can be criminal repercussions and you may get black listed from entering the country.
