Don't worry guys I'm sure the Thai government will come up with a reciprocal agreement. All farangs wishing to come and live (with or without spouse) in LOS will have to pass a Thai or I-saan (Laos) Verbal test before they can obtain a Non Immigrant O, B or whatever ,Oh what about adding this requirement to a Tourist Visa or Visa on arrival as well.

Your best bet is to take you wife and land papers to the local land office, they will clarify the leagal owner of the disputed land.If you have a "Chanote" there will be boundary posts set in all 4 corners of your land,if this is the case there is no dispute.

May I suggest that you go to the Local Tax Office and tell them what you are Planning on doing, they should be able to tell you if a Farang is permitted to carry out this type of business as a Sole Proprietor in Thailand. As long as it is not a restricted business for Thais only, you should not have any problems.
PS I have a Resort Hotel in E-san

Reducing prices only benefits the Tourists, and if you can reduce your prices now ,you were too greedy before.Everyone has there overhead costs,so prices should reflect these cost,NOT GREED.
Cutting your prices will not bring you more Tourists!
