>We recently arrived on the non-stop from NewYork to BKK on Thai Air >and our luggage was checked in through to Chiang Mai. We went >through custom's at BKK before me met switched flights to Chiang >Mai, and our luggage went through customs when we arrived at >Chiang Mai. It was very convenient this way.
So its ThaiAir all the way through to CM?
Why would your luggage went through customs twice, both in BKK and CM??

Just curious, are the ticket counters for Nok Air, Air Asia and etc. located in the same building as the international departure hall in the BKK airport?
I guess for a mere savings of only about 1000 bht I won't be bothered with checking out of the immigration/custom in BKK and then comparison shopping for discount air carriers with luggage in tow.
Btw, how long is the flight between BKK and CM?

I've planned to visit LOS later this year, primarily in the northern area. I'll be flying in from US-HK-BKK. If I decide to fly in to CM from BKK, should I
1. purchase the ticket for BKK-CM while booking my longhaul flight with my travel agency while still in the US, or
2. clear the immigrant/custom at the BKK airport and then purchase the BKK-CM ticket at one of the discount carrier counters outside?
Can I book the BKK-CM flight with the discount carriers thru their internet site and pick up some kind of electronic ticket while still in the US?
TIA ,
Pete

Thanks for all your suggestions. I've been to LOS a few times before, but never get the chance to venture up to the north. So on this upcoming trip, I'll skip BKK and go straight to CM and make it as my base.
So, what's the lastest news with Pai? Last I heard is some places are not that badly affected by the flood. Lastly, any info/experience on the spa thing over at Pai??

I'm planning for my trip to the northern part of the kingdom around later half of Nov. I would appreciate any advice or suggestions as this will be my first ever trip up there. Btw, I'll spend about 1 to 1.5 week up there.
1. I would like to visit Chaing Mai, Pai, Chiang Rai, golden triangle (and maybe even a short venture into Laos). Should I base myself in Chaing Mai (as its the hub in the northern region) or should I move around according to my itinerary?
2. Speaking of itinerary, what would be the best way to go about visiting all of the above places? I'm sure I'll start from CM as I'll be flying in from BKK.
3. Any info on the hot springs resorts? Are they closest to Pai??
TIA

>>cost of living
>Cheap as anywhere in Thailand
What about comparing CM/CR to Pattaya/BKK??
-
What about BKK/Pattaya compared to ChiangMai? I remembered reading from one of those "Cost of Living Comparison among Cities" website and surprised to find that ChiangMai is listed as more expensive than BKK!

>Yes, that's Dr Pat from the Stough Clinic. Hair transplants are
>his speciality and he is one of the best surgeons in the world .......
So you have done the procedure at Stough Clinic by Dr. Pat? I presume you're one of the satisfied customers of his ;-)
Btw, I wonder how much would that saves over doing the same op in the US??

Does anyone have any first hand experience with this clinic
http://www.hairtransinter.com/index.html
Or any other comparable ones in LOS?

Flight Info For Bkk To Cm
in Chiang Mai

>As I said above on earlier flight I arrived at D.M just after 3-10pm and went to transfer desk......
Are you with Thai Air all the way through? The fact that you have minimal luggage makes life much easier ;-)
