funny u all should mention but was talking witht he guys here along the lines of 'what if...' i.e. what if the kibbutz falls apart etc etc and i will be old with no one to support me... so two guys offerred land to rent, build a small thai style house, and do 'guest house'... i'll drag in all the israelis looking for cheap travel.... wont u all love me then 55555555....

one area near nong khai, the other near udon thani areas....i tell u all what...

u build the house... i'll find the israelis, u give me commission, and u deal with the tourists at your end... i'll  deal with the flak when they come back home to gripe and complain (they always always do )...

I reckon that if you don't have the money or pension to stay here you should not be here. 8 years ago there were only a couple of farang bars in Udon. Harry's', Erwyn's and TG's. Now there are about 20 farang bars. This is because there have been too many farangs coming on holiday and thinking that a bar is the answere to thier financial problems. In Nong Khai there was at the last count, about 26 bars. Again farangs coming to town and thinking they can scratch a living by opening a bar. In most cases it's a shack. Most of these bars whether it be in Udon or Nong Khai are frequented by thier rivals, who take alternate nights off to go and spy on other bars. About 1% of farangs make it with bars. If they are truthful they will admit it. Look at the amount who have packed in and went home,it's too many to remember. Many young guys come here and try to settle with thier "two week" holiday t'luck when they should be back in thier own country paying into a pension for thier retirement years. (The small head rules)

I have said this before and many of the older residents have heard it also. There is only one way to leave Thailand with a small fortune. The answere is to come here with a BIG fortune. If there was a fortune to be made in Thailand it would be made by a Thai.

OK I am not slagging you off! But yes you can make money (Legally) I came here 3 years ago, I was skint. but only because I was saved from England’s drug culture, please let me explain. all my life I never had money, I sold my company to yahoo, my brother came to the UK and brought me to Thailand, why. Because the culture in the UK, and my inability to say no destroyed what I had.

The vultures moved in and took nearly everything I had, now I am in Thailand, and yes you can earn money but it is hard work for a farang, 10 times harder then a Thai!! but now I have a computer business aimed at farangs, I have now just got a small estate 14 kilometer from UdonThani, it has a swimming pool, 2 rooms, a small apartment, Bar, Restaurant. and 3 more rooms, I am booked up until near the end of August, and this is low season!. Please everybody keep in mind, if you need to earn money in Thailand you can, but you must work for it.

Thai Air, I will for one never fly with them again!

I am also a Diabetic (insulin dependant). When I got my ticket I ordered a Diabetic meal, as well as at that time I told the staff that I had my insulin pens that I may need on the flight, the staff gave my pens to the air stewardess.

I had one of my shots getting on the plane, but fell asleep soon after take off, at no time was I woken up for my meal, and slept all the way to london, without any attention what-so-ever.

By the time we landed I was very unwell and hypo.

I was taken from the plane by ambulance crew in LHR and then to Hospital.

I made a complaint to Thai Air but as of yet still waiting for a reply, only 5 months now!

You may be able to get to the turn-off option francois suggested, by following MS's instructions in above article, which reads as follows:

"Your computer may restart immediately if it is configured to automatically restart when a system failure occurs. To turn off this option so that your computer does not restart, press F8 at startup, use the arrow keys to select the Disable automatic restart on system failure option, and then press ENTER."

That option does not show for me when I press F8,anyway I take it down to Tukcom now,I'll update on what happens.

I was waiting to see if anyone has had the same problem on here,seaching around on google it seems a common problem,but no real answer other than reinstall.

If you just change the CPU you will not have to reactivate your copy of windows xp home or pro.

If you want to know more about ugrading your PC or just about anything to do with computers, including Vitus and trojan removal.

I have been after another website to be built for quite a while now. The quotes I get are ridiculous! why does a website cost so much in this country?

I am looking for a web guy or gal who can design a "classified add type" website that is graphically colourfull and easy to use.

As it will be a "search add" type site, it will have to have a "brain" like the phuket gazette search engine (not as many seach variables though) - obviously I would like it much "prettier" than that. ( I currently have a seach engine database on a site I own now, that could also be used? as it would save me money?

The web designer must be able to write fluent in English and give me a deadline that is adhered to..

I dont want to pay per page or be offered a 5 page static site, I want what I have posted.

Just thought I'd post a quick question here before making the journey to the computer shop. I have a not-so-old Windows 98SE machine which, when I turn it on, just beeps at me - and I get nothing on the monitor except a message that tells me it's in some kind of power saving mode. Is this some an omen, some kind of code, or what? Any ideas out there? Thanks.

On the highway Eastbound, not too far past the railroad tracks you will find a shop called ITC on the left when heading East. The highway that goes to Sakonakorn I think 22. I have had work done by them on my no name computer and they did it on the spot and invited me into the shop to watch what they did. Give them a try.
