Who would do such a ridiculous thing?

Seems to be a lot of know-it-alls on here, especially the one with the very short name.
Anyway, kenny202, while in Thailand and not married, you have nothing to worry about legally with your child.
Of course, you can do what your conscience dictates, and what the child's mom would allow, if you would ever be in an unexpected bad situation.
If in Australia, your only worry would be if the child's mom came with you and became a legal permanent resident via yourself, and the unexpected
bad situation occurred, then there would be some legal issues in Australia, still not in Thailand. Thailand is not in a position to enforce anything
other than its own proceedings, which it would not have.

Stop the bickering please.
It's supposed to be a forum for amusing stories , opinions and information ... and self-aggrandizement
. Omg. Please don't be so gullible and misplace praise. And remember, the end doesn't justify the means. If your account of the story is correct, the doctor should not be doing a colonoscopy, except to help pay for the addition into his house.3 years ago I felt unwell.
I thought its another kidney stone or GERD.
I explained this to the Doc at the No 1 hospital in Pattaya.
You need a Colonoscopy he said
Er but thats my back side I said.
Are you sure?
Dont you mean a Endoscopy into my stomach?
He got on his high horse and gave me a lot of verbal.
I still thought he was probably wrong.
But BUPA were paying and I thought as his the Doc he must know more than me.
After the procedure he said they found nothing to give me my symptoms, but they had found pre cancerous polyps which they had removed.
And now they wanted to do a Endoscopy.
As I originally predicted they found I had a bad dose of GERD.
I couldn't complain about having the Colonoscopy unnecessarily, because by luck the Doc saved me having a more serious problem 3-5 years down the road.
Probably saved my life.

True, that USA should stop hiding the same problems in own back yard and stop pointing fingers at other countries. But...FYI, almost all Americans don't know anything about the history of slavery, as slavery in the world has existed for thousands of years with little to no relation to race. It's about social class. But Americans in their short sightedness ignorantly seem to think its about black people, just as you are implying.

Sometimes sh!t happens. Well, especially with salmonella. I got it in Phuket a couple years. Lasts about a month. I know where it came from. But the risk is always present somewhere. Just gotta roll with some things.

You likely have no method to do this other than convert money to your country's currency at Thai bank... they can give u a cashier's check or whatever method they want.. but there r limits in daily or weekly amounts.
Almost nobody who works at a Thai bank knows their own rules or how to interpret them. Your choice is to try different banks or different times of day at same banks to come across different workers.

By the way, the succinate form is simply the XL (extended release) once daily regimen. Side note: never crush or chew, for consumption, an extended release medicine, because suddenly the entire amount is quick release and often a dose higher than what is recommended as a single dose. However, not a problem to break half of it if it is scored for such presumed act.
Example, even though OxyContin is extended release and normally not cause overdoses, people would crush and eat or snort them and a quick high. Blahblahblah

Right. Never voluntarily use a shipping service when send in anything to thailand. FedEx seems to have a contractual relationship with items they deliver to thailand, and will guess about anything to err on the side of their contractual client (Thailand in this case). Not matter to them if true or real or untrue or guessing. Try ordering anything in ebay that involves fedex and FedEx automatically calculated customs charges and all that so nicely for you. What I have seen is ridiculous and false estimates.

Buddhism and Christianity are like apples and oranges. They are totally separate things whose origins are not meant for a person to declare themselves as one but not the other. Unfortunately, over time and ignorance, society has arranged for people to consider one but not the other. Ignorance and general lack of information of one, and often both, is the problem surrounding this question.

...unless, omg course, I was "permitted" to do so.

Example: I cannot provide free medical help to people here, because that is activity that would infringe on same activity that a Thai-licensed doctor would do.

Work permit is only needed for activities that involves income or activities that otherwise would normally take jobs away from Thai people. Please do not ask about this to some random thai person who works in a government setting. Remember, the two words that most thai people know, by knee-jerk reaction, who work in banks and any other white collar setting, are "work permit", whether or not it has any applicability and whether they know why it would or wouldn't.

For love of your son and the poor ability of Thailand to protect people, do not send your son to Thailand for any reason. If he schools in Norway, that's great, but still do not send him to thailand, even to visit his mom, because the risk will be to never see him outside of Thailand again.

The people in the most danger, with dengue fever, for example, are those with poorly functioning immune systems.
Well... people with poorly functioning immune systems happen to be in the most danger of taking a homepathic substance.
A presumed advantageous response to a homeopathic medicine requires, inherently, a well functioning immune system.
See the problem? Those who need something most to help them... are the very people who should never take a homeopathic medicine.
And, those who really don't need it, shouldn't take it because "they don't need it." Hello?
I know this via many aspects.... over 250,000 patient visits, and two separate doctorate degrees in healthcare. This topic can be closed.

To siampolee about the picture posted above:
And so, what? Did you EVER took homeopathy pills before? If you never did, it simply means that you're talking about something you don't know anything about, it's just a s simple as that.
good luck to you

I'm a doctor. Vaccination within 5 days of exposure....only 50% chance of helping. Wear a mask in the house to help prevent getting infected. Don't be around her if she's coughing or sneezing. Sleep in another area. If you had chickenpox when you were a kid, then don't worry about anything. If you had vaccination as a kid, nobody know if you're immune still or not.... lasts anywhere from about 10 to 30 or more years.

anybody ever wondered why homicide rate is extremely low in Japan? Shouldn't take long for an answer.

Such declared English teaching reform cannot occur in Thailand as long as corruption exists.
It is deeply entrenched in the education system.
The school systems especially like foreigners to teach English, so they may partake in what's
called "English teacher scam." They hire more teachers than needed, then suddenly the contract
is broken by the school.. early... and guess what happens to the money for the remainder of
the contract? It goes to very local hands in the scheme.

Taser in Thailand is not allowed by a private party, except possibly in one's own home, if even that, as far as I can recall when checking the laws about it last year.

just think how bad these would've been if they didn't have the things dangling from the mirror to obstruct their vision

This new house "behavior" has nothing to do with Buddha, even though the Thai people think it does. Most things that Thais do that are superstitious in nature are due to Chinese Folk Religion, even though the Thais have no idea about it, because they think they are being "Buddhists." Chinese Folk Religion is heavily infiltrated into what is otherwise supposed to be Buddhism. It's very unfortunate. Example... with all the fatal vehicle crashes in Thailand, and Thailand being in the top 3 of worst rates in the world, I said to my Thai friends... "good thing you guys keep that decoration hanging from your car mirror that obstructs your vision while also protects you from being Number 1 in the world for fatal vehicle accident rates." sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeez

My best thought is that a foreigner from a developed country that is reasonably and relatively functioning well... should be the next ruler of Thailand.
Surprsingly, my Thai friends all agreed with me.

Export report upon leaving Thailand is only required if you intend to sell the items. Only you know that.

U people concerned with the welfare of the perpetrator r also mentally ill. We can't even expect u to know that criminally killing people is a mentally ill act, and society, via laws, decides what to do with such people, based on circumstances. If u want to outlaw anything u consider as cruel, then u r of the flavor of being fearful of rules in society. Why don't u live among yourselves in a society like that? See how that works for ya. U just can't see things from another's viewpoint until it happens to you. That in itself is a deficiency and it's too bad that intelligence tests at voting booths aren't required in order to vote.
