  1. There is not enough parking at the regula parking at Suvanabhumi AP busy times, cars are parked all over the place, sometime it is hard to pass between the double parkers.  Do they have any plans to increase the size of the parking lots.  I go on short trips and a lot of times cannot find a parking place and you still have to pay if you have not found a parking space in 15 minutes.  Just wonderful!

  2. I purchases a used 2010 ford fiesta about three years ago and the transmission went out in about a month.  I took it to ford and they said it would cost a ton of money to get fixed, but they kept it as I could not drive it without a Trans that worked.  Two days after this they called and told me that ford had extended the warranty on the car and the new trans would only cost me installation fee.  They replaced it and to this day I have not had a problem with it, I go on many long journeys in Thailand and the engine is great.  One other problem cropped with the a/c and they fixed that problem and I am still happy with this almost trouble free great little American car.  It is fast off the line and has more than enough speed out on the road. +The 1.6L engine is wonderful.

  3. I purchased a used 2010 Ford Fiesta a couple of years ago and within 3 weeks the transmission stopped, but would go into a lower gear to move forward.  I got it to the Ford shop on Suhkumvit and they stated they could repair it so I left it there and later got a call from Ford shop saying that Ford would replace the transmission on an extended warranty that had just been approved.  They did the replacement and have had no problems since.  I really like the car and it is a joy to drive.  By the way it had low miles and is still like new.  I must be a little lucky to have gotten it fixed for free, I did have to pay labor to replace it which was not that much.

  4. There is no particular time when my water pressure is down, it happens in the morning, at night and all during the day.  There is never a steady stream with my water, but always weak flow.  Wish I knew a way to fix it, but my guess is that with the small plastic pipes used here and too many users on it.  The pump is the answer.

Sounds to me like we farang all have the same problems, get good insurance, get bad service and no free rental.  I have had good luck with getting my car fixed here even though it took forever to get it back and the two accidents were less than fender benders.  Never knew the cost of the repairs as they did not give us a receipt only paperwork stating the work was done.  I bought a car recently and was ripped off for 1500 baht, the seller was geek and a con artist, lying to me about the rip off.  O well another day of life in LOS.

  6. I've actually seen worse. Not that long ago, I witnessed a German 92 year old living with an 18 year old here in Udon. If that wasn't bad enough, they had already been together for 2 years. I heard he died just shortly after, but I'm still baffled and speechless about it, like <deleted> ?

    (Yeah, I'm not joking)

Another couple I met in the very same village is a 86 year old (also German) being married to a 24 year old. While it's less controversial legally, biologically and neurologically, I can't help using the exact same words again, <deleted> ?

    It's just not right...

but you forget they were in love cheesy.gifcheesy.gifcheesy.gif

Don't be to quick to judge, I k new an 18 year girl in Ubon that was totally in love with a 68 year old man and wanted to marry him, but he would not marry her. Most of her friends liked him a lot also. Don't know what the attraction was, but wish I knew as some of her friends were beautiful. He had no money, looked old as all get out and had teeth missing in front. Go figure.

  7. So, what the hell is the point of these ramblings of some semi illeterate journalist. This is Thailand, we all know that, we all love it or we wouldn't remain here, we all know these things happen anywhere, we all know that, thank god, we don't have the mass shootings on a monthly basis as in the USA, we all know that 99% of Thai people are generous and helpful to us, including taxi drivers who keep getting bashed on this forum, which is also run by semi illeterate people judging by the posts that occur every day, we all know that anything can be got simply paying for it,corruption is endemic to all, and so on and so on, but we are all still here for better or for worse. At least we can escape from it which is a lot more than the average Thai can do.

+ I agree with you tigermoth 100%. I have wanted to say something like you have written for a long time, but the words just did not come to me. You are right on. Thank you for a great post.

  8. I disagree with the description

"Pattaya, a coastal resort town east of Bangkok, is well-known for its seedy red light district and high rate of crimes against foreigners"

The whole town is a red light district. I'm always surprised when i see families there.

There are too many people like you scubascuba that set every day waiting to paint a negative picture of Pattaya. You don;t mention that Pattaya has a great many retired families from all over the world who find Pattaya a great place to live and enjoy great weather and a laid back life style. There are also hundreds of local families working and vacationing in Pattaya enjoying it also.

I am betting you like most others who have nothing good to say about anything are sitting in a equally sorry red light country, with as much or more crime that you assume goes on in Pattaya. I for one do not want to read stuff from the likes of you. So all of you respond as you like and just f... o..!!!

  9. Did my second successive application on Monday and as expected it went to pending. I checked yesterday... Still pending. This morning still the same as it was at 2 pm. At 4pm I got an email from Immigration in Thai and English stating that is is approved. Never knew they would send an email!

Very interesting tolsti, it seems in this world that there those that make out in any thing they do, and then there is me!!!!!

  10. I learned a lesson about these guys early on when I came out of the old carfour and someone put a flower like thing in my hand. I carried it with

me and got on a baht bus and two lady boys got on with me. One of them said to me that his friend wanted to go with me. I told him I had a girl friend

waiting for me in my room and I also ask why he ask me to go with his friend. He told me that the thing in my hand was an indication that I liked

lady boys, I explained to him that I did not know what the thing represented and that I liked ladies. As we were traveling back toward my stop the lady boy

who the first said wanted to go with me came and sat across from me and started to break down, his face was going crazzy so I jumped off that bus

and went into a crowed market and was very glad that I was not followed. I know that the guy was thinking of attacking me from the look on his

face. I learned my lesson as it has not happened gain.
