My kitten has had the normal vaccinations and deworming. The vet today said there shouldn't be much hassle if I show her records at the border but we'll see.

I've been living in Malaysia where I recently rescued a kitten. I'm moving to Thailand and I'd like to take the kitten with me. What do I need to do to get her across the border? We'll be driving through Sungai Kolok.

I'm trying to sort out which ferry service goes where. There seems to be all kind of conflicting information on the internet.

I think that Lomprayah goes to Ao Thung Makham Noi Pier, and Somserm goes to Pak Nam pier, and that Seatran now goes out of Luang Suan, but it's all very confusing.

Can someone help?

I've been happiy refilling my water bottles frmo the water refill stations whenever I visit Thailand for years now.

But recently I began wondering - who refills those things? Where does the water come from? Is it government run, or a private company? Who decides where to set them up, are they purchased by local businesses? What's the deal with the water refill station?

I assume it's safe to drink.

I'm trying to make sense of the ferry piers in Chumphon to Koh Tao. I started by just trying to find driving directions to Tha Yang Pier, but then started finding a lot of other names of piers. Then I found inconsistencies on websites listing which ferry company docks where.

I'm a little OCD when it comes to travel planning and I like having a good understanding of where I'm going and what the options are.

Can someone help me sort this out? These are the names of all the piers I've found in Chumphon.

I am a tourist. We are in Dawei Myanmar and had planned to cross over into Kanchanaburi and continue to travel from there. I am wondering if we are going to be able to make the crossing to Kanchanaburi or if we have to go all the way back to Yangon and fly in. If we cross overland, do we now just get 15 days?

I really wish the Thai government had given some notice beforehand so that we could have adjusted our travel plans.

I'm with you on cities. Try out Bangkok's "Green Lung" an area that somehow escaped intense urban development just over the river from downtown Bangkok, or take a walk on Koh Kret in Nonthaburi, which has only a walking/motorcycle track and no real roads. There's also supposed to be some nice bicycle riding in Thonburi as well as a few quiet and rural guesthouses. If you feel like it, rent a longtailed boat and cruise down the narrow canals (khlongs). Some of these are still lined with orchards. There's supposed to be some good orchid farms around as well if you're into flowers. Have a nice time!

I am trying to locate some durian orchards on Koh Phangan. I've heard there are some near Khao Ra mountain, as well as a few near Phaeng Waterfall and a lot on the road from Ban Tai to Thong Tapan Noi. Anybody know about these or seen some durian trees on Koh Phangan? Thanks!

They say it's because durian makes your insides hot or warm. Alcohol does the same so two hot/warm reactions inside your body 'is no goot'

When you say the 'south' are you referring to Phuket and south of there? Though not dangerous every day, the south seems a bit taboo to go to right now. We are always hearing about bombings and (not hearing) about beheading, kidnappings, and tortures. The Malay border cities I would steer clear of. I'm sure the muslim nationalists would love to have a westerner to kill and post all over the internet. Durian seems more prominent in the areas to the central of Thailand.

A story I would like to hear about is the 'newest' breed of durian. One that does not smell but still tastes decadent as the stinkiest. I love durian. When I am not eating it and someone else is I get queasy. lol Best of luck in your adventures!

By the south I mean all the southern provinces that people have experience with: Suratthani, Chumphon, Ranong, Phuket, Narathiwat, Yala, etc. I am aware of the problems with the Muslim Nationals but that is up to each person to make up their mind. Actually, there is often news about people getting murdered in durian orchards in Yala...

Well, I don't know what to say about that, but I actually quite like Durianrider. He's a good guy, even if I don't always like his internet personality.

But back to the real durian...you know the kind you can eat and still be vegan..
