Consular Outreach
The next outreach visit to Chiang Mai will be held on Monday, 12 October 2020 from 9am - midday
The outreach will be held at Raming Tea House Siam Celadon (Google Map Location)Address: Thapae Rd, Chang Moi Sub-district, ช้างม่อย Chiang Mai 50300, Thailand
All fees must be paid by debit or credit card only. Please note that cash will NOT be accepted.Please note that services during outreach will be limited. Please read the information below carefully.
The Outreach operates on a first come, first served basis - no appointment bookings can be made.
Notarial services:
During the outreach, staff can -
- certify copies of original documents
- witness signatures on certain Australian documents or documents for use in Australia
- the taking of Australian Statutory declarations being made for use in Australia by an Australian entity
- the administering of affidavits, oaths and affirmations for use in Australian court or legal proceedings
Getting Married in Thailand:
Please note that while Embassy staff can accept applications for a Certificate of No Impediment (CNI) and take the fee, we cannot issue the Certificate of No Impediment at the outreach. Applications will be processed upon our return to Bangkok and posted to you soon after. For further information on the requirements for a Certificate of No Impediment, please refer to the Getting Married in Thailand page on this website.
Visas for Thailand:
The Embassy will not issue letters of no objection for visa purposes during the outreach. All requests should be emailed to [email protected] For more information please visit our home page at https://thailand.embassy.gov.au/bkok/home.html
Passport Applications:
Applications for Australian passports will not be accepted during outreach.
Australian passport applications can be lodged with the Honorary Consul, Chiang Mai - by appointment only. Please contact the Australian Consulate Chiang Mai (Monday to Thursday 9 am to 12 noon) on 091 857 6996 or by email – [email protected] - to book an appointment.
The Australian Embassy in Bangkok also remains available for the lodgement of passport applications and notarial services. An appointment is required at the Embassy for these services. Please refer to the Appointment Booking page on our website for further information.

Immigration in Chiang Mai told me ( a month ago) that the combination method is no longer available to the citizens of the countries (Embassies) that do not provide income verification (i.e. Australia, England, USA)?? Only monthly income to Thai bank method or Thai bank deposit method. Best to check with immigration directly.

do actually state the three (3) methods of proving required funds:
1. Money in the Bank
2. Income per month
3 Combination method
I am sure Bank books/statements and bank letters can prove these fund methods without the need for Embassy support documents. Interesting to see how Immigration react to all this and what they will be accepting.
