  1. Never seen that also, and it seems impossible anyway.

Never seen that also. I worked 20 years in IT.

The true technician said that, otherwise it would not even have come to my mind.

After doing the tests I sadly found out he is right.

And no, that is not what is called LOADBALANCINGwink.png

Load balancing would imply, that it is balancing load smile.png

Now my line is just used to keep free in case eventually somebody might use it.

The admin tool is not very powerfull and I did not find (yet) a downloadable management tool.

  2. Hello

I just ran the speed test from thai visa and even the server seems to be in bangkok, speed was about 20% slower then the speed test from true.

However far more significant issue is, the delivered true dsl router will automatically do a fixed split the bandwith. Meaning if you connect 4 devises, you will get a fixed rate per device of a quarter the line speed. Even if 3 out of the 4 devices are not actively used. Its the zyxel p660hn-t1a. I found out about this when i complained to the true technician about the speed. He said its normal the router would split its share for each device.

Is there any was to get around this?

In my building only dsl is available, which for true is limited to 10mbs/1mbs.

I saw now ais offers better speeds, but i had to sign contract for 1 year at true.

Quitting the contract early would be 2000b. But not sure if i would have the same issues with the ais router.

    Best regards

  3. As said it's not about items I can easily get in Thailand. The market in thailand is just full with low end and consumer products. Nust what people have money for to buy.

Thais who buy high end products usually dont care if they could get the products from the US for half the price, as they d rather say: my camera cost's 1000000b then saging it costs 500000b.

  4. Thx for all the answers. Some professional stuff is usualy not available in thai stores, or the "distributor" is ordering it from the country of origin at list price + shipping cost and genreous currency convertion with 6weeks of waiting time.

I have no problem paying tva and handling fee(800b) for an item. I just dont agree on bribes and stocking fees...if i pay a company for shipping i expect them to handle that.

  5. Hello

Does somebody have experience with ordering electronic goods like photo cameras and the likes?

Do they ship to your door with ups or so?

I did order supplements from USA(with ups), instead of getting it delivered to my adress,i had to pay "stockage fee" about 2000b per day(while they would send me a confirmation of arrival few days later instead of the real arrival date), then they said I need a license to import(actually true for supplements), and i hade to pay bribes to get my stuff, besides running around at the the freight all day.

  6. Cooking an easy dish they way people like it over an other cook ones shows skills. So don't need to do a souffle for that.

On the other hand yes, completely racist quotes from the thais. As if only thais could do something and the rest of the world is not capable. It's maily their lack of education(and training of the brain) that makes them so ignorant. No light in sight, young generations are not improving on that. They should welcome more foreigners and be open to learn from them, while keeping up the thai culture of course.

  7. The milk lobby is fooling people for decades, with success. There are enough studies now that milk is not healthy and one if the reason cancer is more common in western countries.

Some people may be able to consume milk without seriously bad results, its very bad for most. There are to many bad things to list. The protein of course is helpfull to build muscle.and dont believe the calcium thing: the body needs to take more calcium out of your bones to neutralize the metabolism then the milk is bringing.

This study about bad nutrition might be true.milk is just not the solution.

  8. Hi all

first I want to share another friendly story of bureaucrazy and second a question about overstaying and it's consequences.

I'm(was) on edu visa in Thailand, get my stamps every 3 months.

Then I went abroad (did the reentry permit correctly), came back, went to immigration suksa one week later. After filling all the forms and visiting 3 counters, he did not give me a stamp and said, the visit in Hongkong will allow me to stay 3 more month. He wrote on my application: come back in june 4th.

    Ok.

So I left to another country again, wanted to do the reentry permit: red flag! Sir you overstay. have to pay 5000baht and edu visa is lost.

Nice one. At reentry I got 30day tourist entrance.

So what should I do now? Any chance to get them to at least be responsible for their fault and give me my visa back?

My tourist visa is valid till may 24. my next flight out of country is scheduled for may 28th.

Now if I do and overstay again do I just have to pay the 500b/day(which will be less then rescheduling the flight), or do I risk other consequences?

    best regards

  9. my sympathies are with neither of them.we don't know the full story. I know there are many ladies who should realize where are the borders how to treat foreigners.

First of all it doesn't matter if she is a prostitute or not(while 99.9% in WS are, except the other guys wife who returns after cleaning in the wee hours and a few other ones). Second where I come from we don't beat ladies, whether they deserve it or not.

Put this aside I have to say:

I think there are many stupid russians and the world doesn't need them just as I don't need them in Thailand.

I also have seen thai ladies behave really bad, just because they are crazy and/or stupid. A lot of thais think they are allowed to do whatever they wan't to foreigners. If the foreigners get back on them, they will go to police and come up with their version while being able to speak to them in thai and count on getting a prefered treating there.

So if she tells to police she kicked the man out of anger, we don't know why, where and how she kicked him.

I hope this story gets public, this should help both tourists as well as thais to behave.
