    2. No licence invalidates insurance.

    3. There is no such thing as a provisional licence, allowing a learner to drive while accompanied by a licensed driver.

    4. It is recommended that one uses a Driving School.

can somebody confirm above, that in Thailand it is not possible to learn - i.E. his son - driving legal with a learner permit - same as in many countries in

    Europe?

  3. there is an Army Camp near Maejo on the way to Phrao. There you can let training your dog - I think 3 weeks and the last week with owner together. The price is at about Baht 4000 (for 5 years)

The Soldier make trainings mostly for police dogs (drugs) but everybody can bring a dog to him. I forgot the name from the camp - but it should easy to ask somebody from the locals.

  4. Many now require financial proof to get multiple entries. Especially the embassies and official consulates like Sydney. Next time check with one of the honorary consulates such as Brisbane.

Sydney don´t ask me for financial proof in January 2014. Easy to got visa with this papers:

    marriage certificate

birth certificate thai child (25yrs old)

    Copy ID-Card from wife

    Copy ID-Card from son

    Copy House-paper

    Passport

    no bankbook or others

  5. My 33-year-old son has both US and Thai citizenship. He lived

in the US for 15 years and 9 months ago he entered Thailand on his US passport

with a one-year non-immigrant visa. He wants to change his status by leaving

the country and re-entering on his Thai passport

my wife had the same problems some years ago. Entry with German passport and no option to change the status with immigration.

We went to Mae Sai (Burma Boarder) - after she go to the foreigner desk for stamp out - after she go to Burma with her ID-Card and go back also with the

    ID-Card as Thai. smile.png

  6. If you want a multiple entry non-O, Savanakhet Laos is the place. As has been said, if you qualify for an extension of stay you cna convert from your current entry into a non-immigrant entry at immigration Bangkok.

I went to Savanakhet last year, with marriage certificate, birth-certificate from my son and all another papers.

The don´t give me a NON-O multiple, only 3 month. You must show bankbook with maybe 400.000 Baht, then it is possible to have, but then I can make in Thailand too.

1 week ago I go to Kuala Lumpur - it was very easy, only you must show bankbook with 100.000 Baht and you can have NON-O multiple.

  7. following questions:

If I pay to an employee for our small company maybe Baht 3000,- for parttime.

Must I register this employee to the government and must I or the employee pay tax for this small money?

Somebody told me in the past, the line for register and pay tax was over 12.000 Baht?

I don´t know, if this correct or not.

  8. scorecard said: "On a different slant, One of the members of my Thai family (not a red supporter)was just talking to a friend, the gossip is that the attendance money for today is 1,000Baht."

You've got to laugh. No one got paid anything. More black propaganda I'm afraid.

sometimes local red skirts leaders pay between 300 and 1000 Baht.

But mostly of them from outside Bangkok. Last year the local leader from here (Chiang Mai) want rent my minibus for 4000 Baht and for each

Thai another 1500 Baht per day.

But all must give their ID-Card to the leader first. Many red skirts later come home without ID-Card, because the leave the rally before for violence.

Now, nobody go to BKK from our district, because the not offer money for visit the rally.

  12. A Thai person can hold dual nationality under Thai law.

In this case your son probably entered on his foreign passport and not on his Thai passport. When he leaves Thailand on his foreign passport and re-enters on his Thai passport he will be treaded as any other Thai national. Some immigration officails are reluctend to allow this when a person doesn't speak Thai. You just have to persists, as they cannot deny entry to a Thai person.

they can deny to entry Thailand.

My wife have two passports (German/Thai) - before we go to Thailand for ever - she use only German passport.

5 years ago, we come to Thailand and she show her thai passport to entry Thailand. The immigration don´t allow this, becouse the thai-passport was issued in BKK and she never go out and don´t have stamp inside.

My son show passport (issued in Frankfurt/Germany) - he can entry THailand without problems.

So she must entry with her German Passport.

After this I go to Immigration and want change the status from my wife. Was not possible.

So we go to Mesai (Burma) - then she go out from Thailand with German passport and come back with her ID-Card.

Now it si possible to use all two passports :-)

Maybe this procedure change now with the new e-passport.

  13. I'm looking for advice on an unusal circumstance, unfortunately I'm presently getting conflicting advice from Thai officials. My son was born in Thailand, he has a Thai and also a British passport, and, I assumed Thai citizenship. We have moved to different locations around the World for work and in all cases used his British passport for residency visas. Since returning to Thailand permanently we have found that he's treated as a foreign national, whereas he has to register with immigration quarterly, and then have his right to remain in Thailand endorsed annually. I was previously under the impression that Thais could have dual citizenship up until the age of 18, after which they would have to decide on taking only one citizenship. I would like to know how he can now be recognised as a Thai citizen and use his Thia passport to exit and enter Thailand. As a further example, we were advised to use his British passport to leave Thailand and re-enter Thailand using his Thai passport, unfortunately this did not work and re-entry into Thailand using his Thai passport was not allowed.

your son have 2 passports now.

I think the Thai passport is issued in Bangkok - so your son must go out from Thailand with this Thai-Passport, not with british passport.

If he go out with Thai-Passport - he can come back with Thai passport too.

My son is now 21 years old and have all two passports - he must not give up one.

The procedure for use two passports is following:

you stay in Thailand with Thai-Passport, you want go outside to England.

Go to Check in Counter show your Thai-passport and also the british passport. Go to immigration and show only the thai-passport. Entry UK show your british passport.

Come back show in UK your british passport and entry to Thailand show there your Thai passport.

    OK?

  14. there is no problem for the future, if you pay your fine on the airport. But if you checked from the police before you reached the airport, you have muich trouble. You can´t go to the airport, you ygo in jail and must wait for you deportation. After this you are in the blacklist for many years.

    Be carefully.....

You have to love some of the posters on TV,,,this is way OTT and would have me hiding in the jungle..for one day extension .... :o:D

one year ago, police made a check in BKK and catch 12 foreigners for overstay. 3 or 4 people had only 1 day about, nevertheless the can´t go away, they must go in jail same people had more days overstay - police not make different.

1 hour overstay or 3days - there is the same :-(
