  1. The only aggressive behaviour I met with in Thailand was from Ladyboys. In BKK as well as Pattaya. It was quite scary last time in Pattaya to be honest.. I played calm and said no, I dont want to go into their bar but 2 of them followed me and grabbed me. Same at Nana station steps, 2 came and accosted me on both sides.

    Hope someone cleans this up.

  2. Donutz is correct. Also the German Embassy Thailand tells a similar story.

Wenn Sie zu einem kurzfristigen Aufenthalt nach Deutschland reisen möchten, dann beantragen Sie ein Schengenvisum (Aufenthalt bis zu 90 Tagen).

= if you want to travel to Germany for a short stay, then apply for a Schengen visa (stay up to 90 days).

So a tourist visa is defacto a Shengen visa. Go within Shengen where you like. Even go to DK and get married. hahaha.

  3. The main advantage in Denmark is that you need to stay only 3 nights. Then you can marry. UK takes some weeks and the paperwork is a bit more of a drag. Dont worry about the visa its a non issue. Just ask the Danes at the local Kommun.

The Thai mother daughter issue was regarding permanent residence. Bad arguement.....

    End of story.

  4. @Kudel. There are no border controls and there is free access by tourists to all Shengen states. When were you last there? 25 years ago?

You can use a Tourist Visa from any Shengen country to get married in Denmark. Of course you can call or mail a Danish Kommun as I said. They are very helpful and will make sure the paperwork you have is in order before you travel..

Once married with the multlingual Certificate you are married. Whatever.......

So no problem for Pete Beale and his beloved to go there and hitch up and avoid the red tape of other European countries.

    End of story, Kudel.

  5. Did it all myself. It is so easy. You need passports and English translation of the documentation to show that your partner is not already married. The web is full of information but the local Danish town council (komun) will guide you. Give some a call. For guidance i found a site www.denmark.angloinfo.com family section which lists some kommun which specialise in such quick and easy weddings.

  6. Take care.....We had our kids in a British International School in Germany. We realised all too late that the quality of tuition was bad and the exam results poor benchmarked even against state schools in the UK. Rather than being a centre of excellence the school ended up as being a dumping ground for local underachievers or kids with psychological issues. Just take care and look at the exam results. Schools with a high proportion of local students with rich parents may fall into this category.

  7. I tried to rebook my ticket BKK to Frankfurt 2 weeks ago on Sunday Jan 12th. Phoned all possible numbers on the website. No reply, No reaction to my emails, nothing. So I ws forced to travel on the 13th.
No response to my subsequent complaints.

I dont accept this level of service so goodbye Thai Airways, welcome Etihad.....(their callcentre is 24h manned and they are always helpful.....)

    Any comment, ThaiAirways???????
