  1. Fair enough Naam but I have seen you castigate a few valid points and indeed points made by professionals on some pretty influential websites regarding the state of the Thai economy and emerging markets at large. Good to hear you have nothing invested as do I but that would lead me to now believe you are just a cynical old sod wink.png

  2. Thailand's economy is headed straight for the toilet, and thats a toilet with no paper

    Commodities are one thing,

Stolen goods trafficking seems to be the main product here

Nothing is authentic, and the malls are amercianizing at a faster pace than Ronald MacDonald can bend over and say sewadee

KFC and MacDonalds, will assure the declining health of millions

Credit cards will destroy what little people hsve earned

Balloon mortgages have created a false real estate boom,

and Chinese investment will soon dry up,

Thailand is about to experience a deflation they are not prepared for,

    think people are demonstrating now?

    they still have food,

wait until the freighters stop coming and 7-11 can't restock with the garbage it sells

    I actually like it it,

    imagine if I didnt

ridiculous wishful thinking and wet dreams are always quite amusing.

Naam you must be so heavily invested in the Thai economy. Seriously, you seem to think the sun shines out of it's arse. I bet in 96 you were posting the same kind of sarcastic drivel. You seriously have a huge penchant for replying to posts that make negative references to the Thai economy, with sarcastic comments. Read what Oscar Wilde said about sarcasm.

  3. I have been thinking whether to go back home to the UK for a long time. I have a couple of small things I do here when coupled with my talent for the markets and sporadic inheritance payments makes my life very decent. The one thing I cannot find is a decent women and nor will I probably ever, especially seeing that I like isan girls and them only for some reason. This is what makes me worried the most as I really do like the company of a women. I am still in my 20's so I am not worried too much about this problem but it does make me wonder whether I would be better off with someone of my kind for a long term relationship and to grow old with.

  4. I skim your messages, there mostly the same. I had you sussed from the start, you're an old ex-pat who's been here for 18 years and developed a bad attitude. You think you're superior to Thais, full stop. I urge you to confront some drunk Thai men with your issues, after all you're a superior being so can't possibly let this continue. Let them know that you're more important to Thailand and contribute more than they do. Hopefully I'll read about the outcome on here, soon.

    Obvious troll, get a life

  5. They seem to be very territorial about space...

My own experience is just the opposite- Thais seem to have no concept of personal space, often crowding others and acting as if no one else is present smile.png

Definitely agree with this. Been in a few Thai friends cramped rooms and they are very hospitable about their private living space as well.

  6. What's funny is that out on the streets you wi like a little bitch when you meet a Thai guy, you have to come on here to vent your pent up anger. Maybe you'd like to confront some Thai men with all your issues, but we both know how it would end. I choose to have mostly Thai friends, a first timer in Thailand from Sweden said to me recently, the ex-pats here are mostly sad old sex tourists.

I still really do not get how you come to the conclusion that anyone who find's Thai men remotely annoying are automatically fat old sexpats ? I am clueless to understand how from a few messages written on a silly forum you can make so many assumptions about people. I am sorry your friend from Sweden is totally wrong, I have been living in Bangkok since I was 18 and believe me there has been a pretty decent expat 18-28 year old group of people in the last 10 years. There are also loads of nice expats living in Koh Phangan just taking it easy and partying. I really do not think you know what you are talking about and are obviously some sort of nerd. Seriously, your assumptions are just so ludicrous and wrong that as I mentioned before, I honestly think you might just be trolling.

  7. stereotypical

Out of interest, wouldn't that have to be 'all' or 'most' and not just 'many'? huh.png

I think it is also interesting how stereotypes become stereotypes, what is the source of their creation? Perhaps because they are a correct representation, perhaps because of how various experiences have affected the views of the person doing the stereotyping. Fascinating stuff really. smile.png

So I take you disagree with the ideas put forward in the OP?

    Hitler held a few stereotypes.

Now everyone who has a stereotype is in the same league as Hitler ? coffee1.gif

  8. Says the fat old ex-pat sitting moaning about Thailand all night, drinking cheap beer. Pretty tooled up yourself I'd say.

I´m drinking expensive import beer while I post rubbish on TV.....

I think he was directing this at me because I called him a tool for telling us to watch what we say about Thai's otherwise we will be found hanging up country with our throats slit.

Really I have come across a lot of prize cod pieces in this country but this guy just seems to be in a league of his own. I really can't figure out if he is trolling or if he is just plain stupid. I think he is possibly looking for a visa extension and will use this thread as evidence for his love of Thai's. Sad

  9. I really do wonder if the people on this forum who defend Thai's and their sometimes pathetic attitudes, actually live or have ever lived in Thailand for a prolonged period. I would go as far as to consider such people as either retires or people who deal with Thai's on a very limited basis and the Thai's they do deal with are either very well educated possibly western educated and/ or in the service industry where they are being paid to be polite to you. Try and work in an industry in Thailand where you really are the sore thumb. Or maybe they are just liberals and would have given the likes of Saddam Hussein and Stalin the time of day just to be politically correct and polite.

There are 2 threads in the"general topics" today, and the thai apologists are defending thai driving, and are blaming the farangs/ western countries. As usual" Berkshire" has chimed in defending the thais

They probably think that one day when they get deported for supporting the yellows or red's because of their innate patriotism for a country they were not born in, they can ask the judge to refer to their comments on Thai Visa...............and then subsequently point the finger at us apparent bigots. It's quite pathetic really and their wives must have them wrapped around their little pointed nail fingers. the phrase strung up by the balls comes to mind.

The same is equally true for the lower end of humanity in the West. Why would you expect the lower end to be any different in Thailand?

The elite western educated of this country and a very small minority which could be considered as an upper class. The vast majority of Thais, probably about 97% are not educated abroad and therefore my paragraph applies to them. So I would not agree with your analysis.

  12. I am Thai. Am I allow to give my two cents?

Special price for you - 5 cents!

But yes, it would be interesting to hear your perspective.

    Here are my five cents:

    1. I love it when farangs come to Thailand and create a better life for those girls and her family and beyond.

    2. It is kind of disappointed though when I see farangs seem to think their way of doing thing is superior to Thai's way.

    3. I feel sometime farangs don't take responsibility for their action and blame Thais for things that go wrong for them.

    4. I also think farangs tend to forget that they are not in their country anymore so they want to pay little for their living, yet they want to receive five stars hotel services.

    5. Finally, one thing that I don't understand is that why are farangs complain a lot about double pricing when in actuality they would pay triple price for service/product if they were to purchase in their homeland.

Sent from my iPhone using Thaivisa Connect Thailand

Good list but I am clueless as to why you think charging someone more money because of the color of their skin is okay ? Believe me I am perfectly happy to pay a little more to someone who is earning 7000baht a month but to question the fact that it IS morally wrong to over charge someone because of his nationality or skin color, is just not right.

  13. In all honestly it's because we are more socially evolved. We come to their country on holiday and for the MAJORITY of people try and shag their women. They come to our countries for things like education and being an expat themselves and that is only the very elite of Thai society. Can you see the difference ?

They basically think that we view their country as a playground and that ultimately anything they say or do is inconsequential and meaningless to us. On the other hand the Bangkok post writes articles referring to Justin Biebers childish antics and all Thai media outlets will have daily stories concerning the west. We only concern ourselves with Thai news when there is political unrest or maybe just maybe we might do a program on the sex industry and ladyboys. They also have to basically copy everything we do and the most recent example of this would be reality TV; pop idol type show, next top model type show, has there been a big brother type show ? I don't know but probably. Are you beginning to get the picture now ? They basically stream off us and we in return use their women as sexual play things and their beaches to rest and recouporate from our stressful lives in the west.

  14. "Also realizing the inevitable fits of jealousy from the thai girlfriend may be justified. The last time I stepped out with a thai lady friend (who comes from a very good family) she knocked back the cocktails and 'accosted' me in the lift. tongue.png"

and I stopped reading....seriously get one would you

Seriously wipe the chip off your shoulder, I'm clearly stating that a girl's background isn't an indicator of behaviour.

Why did you bring the good family bit into the subject when you merely stated in the first paragraph a Thai lady at the start ? So are we talking about Thai women in general or ones from 'very good families' ?
