A couple of months ago workmen started pull down the overhead wires over a section of the soi in front of my home and having done so disappeared leaving them all over the place including on the roadway.

After several weeks they returned and removed all the wires,  well when I say   '  removed  '   they simply threw them into the ditches on either side of the soi and left.

    Job Done.

Like Sarsin Road at Lumpini park last year after a big storm knocked all the wires down along the whole stretch of road.

I don't normally pay any attention to the monkeys throwing poo, but this could inconvenience some:

" Takorn said it would also help maximize the use of pre-paid phone numbers in the country. Currently numbers must go unused 90 days before they are “recycled,” but he proposed that anyone leaving the country could have their number revoked after 15 days, instead. "

So then they actually will be tracking us, as how else would they know if we've left the country for 15 days?  Or do they plan on getting court orders for everyone every 15 days to see if they are still in the country?

What a load of <deleted>.  So every time I go on holiday for more than two weeks I have to come back and get a new sim?

  3. She didn't have an epileptic fit. Seizures are the second most popular excuses given by Thai "police" after suicide. She drove straight down the middle, perfectly, then tried ro reverse out.

But more important than the bs excuse to make ro the story go away is the complete lack of security at that place.

Ever since the bombing there has been a big show with police tents, tourist police command center trucks etc. over there. But they even protect the shrine from a woman having an epileptic fit (supposedly ). How easy was it for the car to enter the shrine? Are the stanchions and gate made of plastic? Even if they were originally installed to keep people from crossing the street there, surely the security situation should have been reviewed and changes made after the bombing right? Guess not in Thailand. Just keep the show going. Tent full of police doing nothing but eating take out.

  4. I would say more pot holes have been made than has been patched

And those patched ones will need patching again shortly if it is anything like the ones around here

Yeah, he probably shouldn't be telling them to follow up on these kinds of stories.

  5. One thing I don't miss is riding on that ''Sardine Can on Tracks''....even during off-peak times it could get horribly crowded....

Sadly the 'dream' from the late 1990s that the BTS would alleviate BKK's traffic woes never came to pass due to abysmal administration woes throughout it's existence.

The only benefit it offers is getting across town in good time if you don't mind 'cramming' in for a while.....

As, by definition, off peak times are the less busy times it's ridiculous to suggest that off peak the BTS is "horribly crowded", it simply isn't.

Bangkok's traffic problems are nothing to do with the BTS's "abysmal administration woes throughout it's existence" as you farcically claim but you can bet your life that if the Skytrain ceased operations tomorrow traffic issues would increase immeasurably and people like you would be pleading for it's return.

    Complete nonsense.
