  1. When I was in Hua Hin I noticed that there were a lot of British and Scandinavians living there

I was just curious as to why so many of them have chosen to live in a country like Thailand (so far from home and so hot year round.) At least I would have thought they might prefer a country like India or Malaysia where the English language is more common.

Is Thailand one of the most sought after places to retire for the British and Scandinavians? If so, why?

Perhaps for the reasons you did egeefay :o

The OP lives in the US as far as I can tell...

    totster :D

    the US?

  3. second hand wife for sale. In good condition, normal traces of usage. Design: small, brown color. Power save function. Mute button defective. Buyer pays for postage, Seller takes the ebay fees.

    Minimum bid: 1.5 USD

Well, let's just say that no Thai man would pay a dime for a pre-owned wife (who may even have kids!)

But, as they say, 'up to you', I suppose.

I'd explain her about www.ebay.com and suggest she may have better luck selling herself there.

Hey, might even start a new website or magazine... www.taladwife.com Quick grab the domain while it's still available.

Please note: second hand wife also willing to off load / dump, offspring from previous relationships.

  4. I can send you lots of links for blue pills.

Don't think we need to go down that path thank you :o

I was referring to all the spam emails I have been receiving lately. Nothing more.

  5. This is all as maybe......Can you perform medical experiments on these canine....Thus making them practical to our existence upon this sorry little rock.

Hey Att, can you let me have some of those pills you are on. I need a reality break!

    :o

I can send you lots of links for blue pills.

I do wish the O.P. had included some useful reliable data and links.

  6. Just found out yesterday that my wife and I are going to have a baby, our first. Is it normal to feel so proud, excited, and scared all at the same time. What kind of advice do all you wise venerable sages have for me?

    happyhappyhappyhappyhappyhappyhappy

    Peace

    Congratulations.

My first thought/feeling when I was told

    I was pregnant was fear.

How could I be responsible for another life.

    Again I say "Congratulations."

  7. Sorry but this happens all to frequently..

My mates dog which lived 90% of its time in the house was well behaved and with collar etc.. Lovely family pet.. Died foaming at the mouth in front of the family (including young then heart broken children).. 2nd worst part being that 90% sure its one of those same 2 faced smiling neighbours who wave at you each morning that did it !!

My GF's friends have a dog.. Lives in thier little BG flat and is a little yippy toy dog.. Couple of nights before this press piece was stuck down by mystery stomach cramps and very sick.. Has frecovered but something odd happened to that dog.. The same night the neighbours dog died..

All well and good to say the dog should never be off the leash or always inside but thats not the reality.. I have no problem with a non aggressive behaved dog being out in the street occasionally..

Dog poisonings are real and its a ######ing cowardly gutless thing to do IMHO.

    /rant over.

I'd toss a poisoned steak to all and any barking dog. Shame I cannot do that to the owners of those dogs.

Where was it the other 10% of the time?

  8. Ok i take your point,

CRL is Countrywide Residential Lettings (as mentioned in the title of the thread)

and ARLA is the Asociation of Residential Lettings Agents. or something similar.

ARLA are one of the trade bodies who set down codes of conducts for letting agents.

Anyone who has had dealings with the above companies would know what i was talking about though.

Kinda like if i was posting on a banking thread i wouldnt have to spell out who HSBC are.

Don't get all miffed and annoyed or expect us in the UK to figure out what CRL, ARLA and or even HSBC means.

I always give the benefit of doubt :o:D:D

  9. I think it would be hilarious to see what would happen if I tried to open up a restaurant called "The Last Supper" where everyone sat at huge buffet-style tables, drank out of grails, and all the waiters dressed like apostles. Jesus would come over halfway through your meal and ask how everything was

"The Last Supper" bar would probably go down a storm in Thailand. You did say drank out of grails didn't you?

The Buddabar is not in Thailand so why the outrage?

  10. Just seen the following on Thai-UK.Org
    Buddha image becomes design motif

Buddhists in the UK have raised concerns about the Glasgow-based pub chain Bar Budda. The company recently announced a new £1m outlet in Belfast and has plans to open bars in Manchester and Kilmarnock.

The company has eight 'Thai-inspired' bars in Scotland and one in Oldham in England. All feature large Buddha images - some even placed on and above the bar, as well as Thai artefacts and food.

Click here for the full article.

The Bar Budda website can be found by clicking here.

Personally I feel that using the Buddha image in this way is insulting to Buddhists, and wonder what the reaction would be if they tried something similar with Christian or Islamic imagery.

    What do others think?

If you want to make your feelings known to the company concerned, you can E-mail them at [email protected]

laudable tho' your intentions are; here in the UK you can but all manner of tat bearing the image of Christ etc. I'm sure Barbudda ain't going to take any notice.

Last year I bought a worn/used islamic prayer mat from a secondhand shop, the "owner" of the shop asked if I was muslim. I replied no.

I was then asked "what are you going to do with the prayer mat" I replied "put it up on my bedroom wall"

In my mind I'm not showing disrespect
