  1. "His body was found buried 2 meters deep under the ground at a roadside bush.."

How could they find him then, buried 2 metes deep at a random spot?

Perhaps further details will reveal this.

    Read the article please:

" Pattaya police chief Pol Col Sukthat Pumpunmuang said the team of police went to the location and found tyre tracks of the pickup truck driving 100 metres off the road into the roadside bush. They searched the area and found the burial ground where there were fresh traces of soils being dug out."

  2. So he got 6000 Baht to cover 5000 Baht hospital fees. Wow !!

No responsibility there then taken by Thai tourism authority. Next ........

How are they responsible for what happened ?

Usual sympathetic response from TVF member. If they every offer you financial help you'll refuse it of course?

    1. The Thai Tourism Board payed money to cover the hospital bill. Even that they are not responsible for the victims injuries. Goodwill at its best.

    2. "If they every offer you financial help you'll refuse it of course?" No logic at all here. Why should I refuse help? I appreciate the help I can get - not for that reason I demand help.

  3. Be very careful if you exchange money in HCMC. There are rip-off booths that will siphon off VND from the exchange rate. It's best to take USD and use them. VND can be a little confusing and you can mix up a 10,000 piastre note with a 100,000 piastre note. I did.

    10 000 VND = 16 Bath

    100 000 VND = 160 Bath

  4. FACTS ABOUT RABIES

Annually, approximately 55,000 estimated deaths worldwide, of which about 20,000 in India and 24,000 in Africa. That represent, worldwide one death every 10 minutes. 84% of deaths occur in rural areas in Asia and Africa. 30 to 50% of deaths occur in children 15 years of age or less. Every 30 minutes, rabies kills 1 to 2 children. They are at particular risk, as they are often bitten at the head, face and arms. They are less wary of unfamiliar dogs than adults and therefore are bitten more often.

  5. This is a s good as attempted murder and yes that Soi 6 is absolute rat hole....

What are the police here for anyway... To harass motorists or secure the safety of Pattayas lievly hood. And I can tell you these ladyboys should be sent packing !!!

They are a disgrace to Thai culture and you are stupid for going with them. On the brief visits to that Soi. They have tried to pursue me and I tell them go away... They seem to like strong men. Then the junky rat tried scratch my arm. So I back slapped it natural reaction being a former pro fighter.

    One word DOGS

Well, the police can do both controlling motorists braking the law and sure secure safety in Pattaya. Sorry that you have bad experience with the ladyboys, (showing off are we: strong men, former pro fighter, haha) ... and don't compare criminal ladyboys with dogs which are wonderful animals. ;-)

  6. 'Pol Sub Lt Thotsaphol said police initially believed the man might have killed himself but they need to investigate further.'

What a stupid statement , better to just say the investigation is ongoing .... gigglem.gif

Not at all stupid, maybe your comment is.... haha

Most signs the police observed at the site indicate suicide, but they will examine further in order to be sure of their conclusion.

Seems a logic and correct police job for me.

  7. Does Surat Thani airport even have immigration, i dont think it does, why would they be fined there anyway, they were departing Thailand BKK, either badly reported or some BS being written

And 7 × 500 doesnt equal THB10500 BTW if it was genuine fine they overstayed 21 days

    1 If 7 days = THB 3500

    2 overstayed 21 days

    3 scammed by someone

    4 someone is writing BS

A few factual things wrong with this story

    7 days x 3 people = 10,500 baht..

    3500 + 3500 = 7000

    7000 + 3500 = 10500

Hope that clears it up for you.

    7 days x 3 people = 21 overstay days

    21 x 500 Bath = 10 500 Bath

  8. Do these folks actually ever end up in jail in Thailand, or do they just use the stolen funds to bribe their way out ?

It would be very interesting to know what penalties they get. THAI VISA writes about various types of crimes, farangs or Thais are arrested for - but I have never read about what penalties are sentenced. I think it's time to do some following ups'.... I prefer to read about what is really happening than any sarcastic comments about the criminals, the police or Thailand in general.

  9. The LED market in Thailand is dominated by cheap copies and low quality products. Use an experienced installer who give at least 2 years guarantee but also consultation how to do lightning when changing to LED. Much cheaper electricity and longevity of lamps. "The bitterness of poor quality remains long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten" In Pattaya I can recommend swedtech.com. What they don't know about LED is not worth knowing.

  10. The Royal Thai Air Force ordered six Gripens (two single-seat C-models and four two-seat D-models) in February 2008 to replace some F-5s, with deliveries beginning in 2011. Six more Gripen Cs were ordered in November 2010 with deliveries from 2013. The Gripens are to be based at Surat Thani Airbase. The first of the six aircraft were delivered on 22 February 2011. The next three were delivered on 2 April 2013, while the remaining three were delivered in September 2013. It is believed that Thailand may eventually order as many as 40 Gripens. (Wikipedia)

Gripen = The griffin, griffon, or gryphon is a legendary creature with the body, tail, and back legs of a lion; the head and wings of an eagle; and an eagle's talons as its front feet. Because the lion was traditionally considered the king of the beasts and the eagle the king of birds, the griffin was thought to be an especially powerful and majestic creature. The griffin was also thought of as king of all creatures. Griffins are known for guarding treasure and priceless possessions. (Wikipedia)
