Tried breakfast at Secret Garden this morning and must say was a bit disapointed. Great setting and good sevice but 200 baht for a full english was on the high side considering you only get half a tomato and a small portion of beans (the cheap ones too, not even Brooks!) fried eggs overcooked too. Ther was a very nice piece of carrot carved into a flower, but not really sure if a full english breakfast is the place for that. I think there are a couple of better value for money options availably close by in this very competative breakfast market!

Hmmm - It has recently changed hands - I will have to go back and carry out another sampling.

We, my neighbours and I, have had a BBQ two times with Nigel. The food was excellent, the service very good and he is a fun guy.

He brings everything: BBQ, plates, forks, knives, everything you need. Afterwards we only had to clean the glasses.

I don't know if it is like this with the Christmas meal but I can certainly recommend him.

A few weeks back I bought a ticket at a travelagency called Samui Look (BKK/London for 28.000 bht incl. taxes and all with Etihad).

When you drive from the ringroad onto the beachroad in Chaweng, you will find them after about 50 meters on the right hand side..

I live in Thailand for 3,5 years now and sofar I did not manage to find a shop where I can buy new shoes. Size 40 is the biggest they have. Sometimes I find a bigger size but usually that are shoes for my grandmother or a katoy :-)) Is there someone who knows a shop in BKK where I could go to?

I do have bars on all my windows but I think the lock on my glass terrace doors and my (wooden) kitchen door are a laugh for every burgler. I don't want to have a dog but does anyone know someone who can advice me, sell and fix proper locks? I live in Bangrak.

Well, to be honest, it was ment a little bit sarcastic. All this rot about Bangrak or Chaweng being too far away for people from Lamai and vice versa ........... As long as people do drive up to Lipa Noi to attend a very expensive evening at Nikki Beach, I don't understand all this fuzz about going to Chaweng, Lamai or Bangrak to have some inexpensive drinks and a chat (which is definitely not possible at Nikki Beach because of the volume of the music) with some people.

Whenever or where ever the party will be held, I will attend definitely because I think it is nice to meet other people.

And....... are we having a party????? in Bangkrak ?????? somewhere this month????? at Sunseeker or Secret garden??????

well im back in to lamai tonight to go see my girl. i spent the afternoon with her but she had to go to work. she is going to ask tonight if she can have some time of so we can see each other some more. i might take her round the islands.

I was there last Thirsday. Went especially on Thirsday because last time they kept me waiting untill the last one was gone and I was told Monday and Friday are very busy. The man from immigration handed me over my passports and bankbooks and said: that is 5.000 baht each. I answered with a smile and said: the form says it is 1.900 each. Than he said: OK, 5.000 for two because we had t make many copies. That was not true because I provided all the copies they need. I just put 4.000 on te desk and left saying sawadee kah. Outside I checked my stamps and it was only the extension, no re-entry or whatever. It is indeed a big scam and they try to do, not every time, but too often. And I think as long as there are people who actually pay this 5.000 or 5.500 because they are affraid of what might happen if they don't, they will keep on trying.

Problems like:

- why do you have one bankaccount with 1.6 mill baht together woth your husband and not two separate ones with 800.000 each?

- after 3 years suddenly want to have a document translated from English to Thai which says my husband and I are really married?

- taking my papers, telling me to come back at two o'clock and when I do so telling me to come back in two days again???

- every time asking 5.000 baht for a visa that costs 1.900 (maybe that is the reason they behave like that: I refuse to do so)

- etc.

I live here nbow for 3 years and every time there is something else. In the beginning I said: OK, this is Thailand but now I'm getting mad sometimes. I don't do any bussiness here, I am retired already so the only thing I do here is bringing my money into the country and spending it, but sometimes I feel like some criminal when I come home from immigration.

I know it is no use to complain here and everyone will say, just like you, join the club but sometimes I have to relieve my feelings.....

I'm always polite

I'm always properly dressed when I go there

I have always my paperwork in order

I have always proove about having enough income

I'm always waiting patiently

and still I have always problems when renewing my year visa

I think he is realy talking about the 99 gym and not about Jungle Gym from Thomas. I went to Thomas regularly when he was still here and the description does not fit Jungle Gym, so it must be the 99.
