As a privat tax-payer :
If you stay in Thailand more than 182 days in a year, you have to pay tax to Thailand - from all inncome you bring in to the kingdom. If the money have been in a bank for one year in UK before you transfer and you can show documentation about this, you do not have to pay tax . That's thai tax-law !
You will need a thai taxcard first off all....
Then it's up to your UK renevue how/if they refound the tax you pay to them, and what kind of documentation they demand.
This is only if UK have a tax-agrement with tahiland...and UK's provision about dobbeltax .
Thailand have no routines for foreign privat taxpayers, and the rules are quite different from district to district, and anyway it used to be wery diffecult to have any documentation from the thai renevue at all.

The schoolsystem in this country was designed by the superrich and powerful families, not so many years ago.
The purpose was of course , to keep the poor poor ! The same families still roules !
They did a good job, the rich bastards.....
Totaly lack of pedagogic metodes, and a lot of knowledge of brainwash among the teachers ! Also in the privat schools, eaven the expensive ones !
Let us hope for a huge pedagogic transformation from the military junta !

Do NOT connect your child to any thai school or the thai

Ok....many wice people here....and som stupidos !
Do the TEST - it is easy and cheap.
The test goes like this : step up on your dinnertable, and let your selves fall forward flat to the floor. Use sandals and easy clothes.
Do not protect your face or body in the fall, just let go.
Then do the same from your 2.floor.
It should feel like a front-crash in about 7 kmh from the table, and about 45 kmh from your 2.floor.
Then, after you wake up, try the same test using good mc-protection !
Then use your fantasy, and imagin the same jump from 12. floor. Thats about 90 kmh on the highway.
Have fun !- 1

Use common sence....if you have an accident driving a small bike, or a big bike - the dammage on your head and body will be the same !
Anyway, full face helmet ( minimum 10000 bath ) , boots and gloves should be the minimum for eaven a short ride in thailand.
About 20 dies every day and many hundred is serious injured .... Every day !!!
Drive sober and extremly passive !
Good luck !- 1

Declare UK tax while live in Thailand?

I don't know anything about the UK tax-law, but if you stay in Thailand more than 182 days a year, you have to deal with the Thai tax law.
Use two accounts in two different thai banks.
One for your "secret" money... If you sell your car, house or so on, and one for the white money - pension, salary i.e.
The thai revenue will problaby not look for you, but if they do and they find you be prepared to pay extra tax, and they can go 1-3 years back in time.
If I where you, I would wait and see ( and hope ).
If you live in the districts north in Thailand, they will never look for you !
I walked in to my main Revenue office and told them I wanted to pay tax.
They had never heard about a farang paying tax, had no documents and no routines about it at all.
The funny girl in the office told me to pay the tea-money for one year at ones....and the other 14 employees had a good laugh.
I would like to ad some links, but my proxy-server dont let me send links to day. Sorry.
