  1. Tigerair was one of my favourite airlines when they started for business, now not anymore. Before they shift to the "Budget Terminal" they said that it will pass the saving on airport tax to the passengers. However, this was not so, its tax & surcharges are higher than other LCCs. During the airport crisis in Bangkok in 2008 when the airport was closed, I did not received SMS from them. I was connecting Thai AirAsia(TAA) from BKK to Chiangmai, TAA send me a SMS to informed me that the airport was closed. Tiger don't put any of their own staff at the airport counter they used contractor to mend their counters, therefore, when matters arise like flight cancellation or delay, passenger can't speak to Tiger's staff. Tigerair is really sucks :realangry:

  2. I do experienced good respond from Thai AA, during the PAD invaded the airport I recieved a SMS informing that my flight was cancelled. I contacted them by phone and the customer service staff politely informed me that I could change the travel date or a refund. I opted for refund after about 1 month I received the credit to my credit card account.

About 3 months ago, I booked a flight from Bangkok to Chiangmai, before the travel date they informed me that the flight I booked was cancelled and I called them to change my flight to an earlier flight, it was free of charge. I have not experienced any problem with Thai AA. I hope Thai AA would keep their good service. : :)

  3. The whole conutry is now rule and run by mobs, the police and army are all useless. They allow the Red mobs to stop and search their vehicles and hold them as hostage, its a real joke. Now, the PAD is asking the govt to impose martial law, PAD has forgotten what they done 2 years ago, they set an example for the Reds to follow now. Why crying foul now? Its sad to see that Thailand has come to this pathetic stage, where by the police and army are not performing thier duties and the mobs are taking law on their own. :)

  4. I fully agreed with Appleman, I and my wife too, a regular of Ram for my annual check up, 5 years now and I find that their prices were acceptable, though slightly higher than others. However, their service was excellent, no long waiting time. All checks done in the morning and the results ready in the afternoon (same day).

  5. I used to play golf and brisk walking before, now I cycle and doing light excercise, like stretching my leg and twist n turn (twist dancing) on machine every morning. My lower back pain still exists, its not the acute pain type, can feel that lower back tense otr tight when bending forward. I will try "Yoga" as suggested by one of our friend here, hope it will help to subside the pain.

  6. Today's low cost airlines have new aircrafts not like what you think old and rejected aricrafts. I have been travelling by low cost airlines over the past fews years and have not encounter any safety problem. I flew Air Asia many times and have no experience of any delay or flight cancellation.

  7. Also, I blame Taksin as part of the problem as he is enticing them to cause mayhem and revolt... he should be extradited and charged accordingly...

Last night the head of Bandit Thaksin already told his supporters that if the government use force he will return to lead the so called "The People's Revolution". Now, lets wait and see whether he will return to "SERVE HIS JAIL TERM". :o

  8. The problem in Thailand is not going to be solved easily, neither the police nor the army is going to start shooting. The government dare not issue any order to shoot or even use water canon to disperse the protesters. Just because what the yellow shirted protesters did last year nothing was being done to stop them, now who cares... :o

  9. Used to use them very regularly and never a problem - still do for new places and peak periods - both as Precision Reservations previously and now Agoda. A few years back I booked a couple of weeks with them but changed my plans a week in. Planned on sorting out a refund when I got home but discovered that they had already done it. I have always found the details on their website more comprehensive than some of the others out there.

Beware when booking a Hotel with AGODA.

On the 27th of February we booked a 2 night stay at the Royal Asia Lodge Hotel Soi 8 , Sukhumvit Bangkok for the 2nd & 3rd March. The write up from AGODA about the Royal Asia Lodge impressed us but what a disappointment we had. Firstly, the hotel was about 1 kilometre form Sukomvit Road; we were not told about this.

To add to this the safe was broken, air con blew out hot air, room filthy & food disgusting, we actually walked out of the restaurant again disgusted and went to check out.

After the breakfast carry on (morning of the second day) we moved to another hotel for the remaining nights until my wife’s Visa was ready. Before leaving The Royal Asia Lodge Hotel we asked the hotel for a refund as we had paid for the 2nd night and we were told to contact AGODA for the refund. We have been fighting this for 1 month now & AGODA keep telling us that they are investigating the case.

It’s not a lot of money, (in fact they can now stuff it up their rectums). It’s the principle of the matter which is annoying us. The purpose of this post is to warn others about AGODA and the Royal Asia Lodge Hotel.

No doubt some of you have used AGODA and the Royal Asia Lodge Hotel and have been satisfied. My wife and I will never ever use the services of these seething lying horrible cheating BASKETS again.

    We were coned.

Don’t let it happen to you.

Now I’ve vented my anger I’m away for a beer.

    Wee Jimmy.

I have been using AGODA for sometimes now and never had any problems. I always read the reivews before I confirm my bookings. All reviews states the pros and cons of the hotel.

  10. Definitely real - I checked Macau, Singapore and Chiang Mai - and always had a 0 fare in one direction or the other. Haven't seen one which is 0 both ways, don't think it's possible. Basically, it amounts to a "Buy one way, get the return leg free" deal.

All LCC are trying to woo customers on "FREE SEATS" or "0" fare. I found that Airasia(AA) give the best deal as AA don't charge fuel surcharges. I had booked for next July travelling from Sin-Bkk return for less than Sin Dlrs 83.00 (previous promotiom).

    Good deal huh.. :o

  11. I'm afraid your wrong. Thai people can care less about tourism. their are only a hand full of provinces that are tour provinces. Most of Thailands income comes from exports, not tourism. I live in korat and this is not a tour province and people up here do fine.

    Barry

what a naive statement. Is Korat the official measure of Thailand's prosperity ?

I wonder how many Thai's in Korat are up to their necks in debt just like the rest of the country ?

    Totally agreed with you Midas.

However, Barry do you know that the prices of rice has gone down so much that almost all rice farmers in Chiangmai are losing money this time round.

  12. I am afraid that you may have missed the boat (oops, the plane)! You should have made the change before the travel date. Changes can be made Online 24 hours prior to the travel date.

Right - that's the "normal" policy for making changes online. This is a different situation, I believe, with 100's of flights canceled due to the airport closure. Re-booking in advance of the canceled flight really wasn't a viable option because they didn't know when they would begin service again.

I was thinking (or hoping) that they would have a policy similar to other airlines, in which you have a certain number of days after the canceled flight in order to re-book at the same fare as was originally paid. At the very least, I would hope that they would credit you with the fare paid for the canceled flight when re-booking later.

As we're not able to get through to them on the phone, I was wondering how others have handled their re-bookings.

I was caught in the same situation on 26 Nov when I received a text that flights were cancelled. I called many times but to no avail. Got thru on 28 nite the staff said I can keep the tickets for "3 months" to exchange for another date or wait for refund within 30 days, I opted for the refund.

If you plan to travel to Bangkok soon perhaps, you bring along your cancelled ticket and exchange at the airport counter.

  13. Could you go to any parliament, government house or congress in the world, do this type of damage and expect to escape scott free?

If there is a problem with the amounts, perhaps Sondhi and his Pad followers can employ the contractors and restore it to its original state. Save arguing on costs if they just do the work and pay for it themselves doesn't it? Or am I being too simplistic?

But this is Thailand where people are not held accountable for their actions.

I thought maybe the adults were on vacation but in fact there aren't any.

PAD are a group of cowards, never at anytime they will shoulder any responsibility on what they have done.

  14. Freddie,

i have just this minute booked a flight out of Chiangmai to Singapore with Airasia for Thursday 4th, i am heading out to Angola as yourself. If you are not going until the 12th i do not think that you will have a problem getting a flight for then, but i would advise to book early. The office will book my flights fro Singapore.

    Airasia Tel 025159999

    Geordie

When did Airasia start to fly out Chiangmai to Singapore? Is this a temporary or schedule flight? It will be good if its schedule flight.
