  1. Suffering from chronic headaches, low back pain, upper back pain, groin pain and knee pain for years, since I experienced a really bad car accident in 2006, I've seen many doctors who couldn't help me. Being a personal trainer myself I was about to inject peptides to get rid of the nagging "injuries" holding me back making progress, despite I did all the "right" things. Then I found out about Toshi Toyoda, a biomechanical specialist, chiropractor, acupuncturist and personal trainer, who treated me a lot more specific, to say the least. He taught me a lot of MAT (muscle activation techniques) and stuck some needles in the right muscles. I thought I was very aware of my posture and exercise performance, but with a few cues he showed me how to correct myself. This guy knows his stuff. He's not cheap, but for sure worth it. Wish I met him 10 years ago. If you're dealing with chronic pain and live in Thailand, don't hesitate to contact him.  He's got his company in Phuket, but is staying in CM for the moment. This is his website: http://www.biomc.com/biomc/home/

Hope this helps anybody with chronic pain!

  2. Thank you for your answer.

I was planning to convert the tourist visa to the "marriage visa" after our wedding, however, this is my problem: before I went to Thailand I unregistered from the commune of my hometown, so that I could register at the Belgian embassy in Bkk. About 1 week ago I found out you can not register if you are on a tourist visa. If I can not register, I can not apply for the "affidavit", not get married an forget about converting my visa. So I have 2 options:

    1) I go back to Belgium for a while to register in the commune again and apply for a new tourist visa so I can get married and get the "marriage visa".

    2) I don't go back to Belgium but enroll in some kinda school so I can get a "year visa" and register at the Belgian Embassy.

My question is if anybody experienced the same problem and/or if anybody knows a school that could guarantee a "year visa", although I already stayed 3 years in Thailand before on an ED-visa.

Any help is welcome. Thanks a lot in advance.

  3. Already living in Thailand for about three years now on an ED-visa, I decided to cancel this visa and to get married with my Thai girlfriend. However, I need some more time to arrange the required docs, so before I can apply for the marriage visa I have to do a visa run to Laos to obtain a tourist visa for 60+30 days. I'd like to have the app form completely filled out before I go, so could somebody please tell me which application form I need? Is it TM87?

Furthermore I'd like to know if I have to write down whether I arrived by plane from my home country or by minivan from Laos?

    Thanks a lot!

    Warm greetings,

  4. Hi there,

If you are looking for a powerrack, an olympic barbell you can load until 130 kg and free weights until 35 kg with the possibility to have professional training advise, then I would recommend to come to my place: Cumpun Guest House. Its like 5 minutes walk from the warorot market. You can easily find us back on google maps as well. Monthly price negotiable biggrin.png.

I was actually looking where to buy weight plates in Chiang Mai and I ended up here. Does anybody has 2nd hand weight plates of 20 kg for an olympic barbell (so the diameter of the hole should be 2 inch) for sale?

No sports shop with decent weight lifting equipment to find here, it all has to come from Bkk if I don't find anybody in Chiang Mai.

    Thanks in advance!

  5. Register the company with 2 Million Capitalisation ( you don't need this money in the business as cash - you just pay a fee to register the Capital then account for Capital Assets/ Liabilities as time passes).

You will need some Thai employees (as you are married probaly 2x) - varies from Labour Dept to Dept.

Wth all the correct paperwork you can register your company and file an application for a Work Permit - as say the Client Manager.

Be warned Labour will try to restrict your job description so don't try to be too adventurous; be aware of occupations restricted to Thais (e.g. Supervising Accounts and Floor Sales are two areas that would apply to your business operation).

Once you have your WP application successfully filed you can travel to a neighbouring country to apply for a Single Entry 90 Day Non Immigrant 'B' Visa, re-enter Thailand and you can use your 90 day Non 'B' entry to get your WP issued.

Should you marry your Thai Partner, then when you come to apply to Immigration for an Extension of Permission to Stay under National Police Order Case 2.18 (Thai Family Member) you need to show evidence of Tax paid on 40,000+ THB pcm, evidence of income through a bank book is insufficient unless you can show > 400,000 THB throughout the qualifying period.

Immigration will also need to see evidence of your on going marriage, address, your WP and various company papers.

    Good Luck.

Thanks for the quick reply. Seems like I have a lot of things to do. What if I don't need employees? Can't I just get a work permit for this kind of business if I have a marriage visa?

About the 2 million Baht capitalisation: what do you mean exactly with "you just pay a fee to register the Capital then account for Capital Assets/ Liabilities as time passes)." Does this mean; if my investment in the business over time reaches 2 million Baht, it's fine?

So, correct me if I'm wrong, IF I marry my Thai partner AND I make money consistently so I can show troughout the year I have >400000 Baht on my account, I don't even need a work permit or business visa?

    Thanks again for your time.

If you work in Thailand , you can be married a Thai you will still need a work permit , You can stay in the country on a marriage visa . Your 40,000 baht a month I am thinking can be your wifes income if they haven't changed the rules .... But best advice is consult a lawyer because you getting into areas with many issues ...... and they are best at ways of getting around corners . If you bought a guest house and its in your girlfriends name ...... I d get married quick register the marriage and get her to make a will .. Short of that if she racks up the motor bike and drops off the deep end you just bought her parents , brother or sister a guest house ...... You ll be paying them rent !

I took over the business (in her name) and paid a take-over price, but we still have to pay a monthly rent to the landlord...

  7. Hi there, I got a few questions about running a business in Chiang Mai. For the moment I am running a guesthouse together with my Thai girlfriend. However, in Thailand we are not aloud to own property or run a business like this. That's why the guesthouse is in my girlfriends name and I am officially a student.

I can extend this educational visa for several years, but after that I have to find something else. Since I am educated for fitness trainer in Belgium, and I have my equipment already, I would like to start my own warehouse gym business...

Before I start my advertising though, I want to know if I can obtain a business visa for this kind of business.

If I cannot obtain a Non Immigrant B visa, is it possible to get a work permit if I am married to my Thai girlfriend? If yes, for what job?

With a marriage visa (O) we still have to show that we earn at least 40000 baht/month. If I earn this amount with my gym, is it sufficient if I just can show my bank account/passbook?

I also read about getting a visa as a sports coach. Does anybody know the requirements?

That's it for now, thanks a lot if somebody can help me out!

    Grtz,

    Alexis
