Presumably there is in Udon Thani, I haven't had a look see. Yet.
I can buy new for that...I want something for the missus to ricochet off between trees etc on way to n from home....the bike just ain't safe enough!I went for the second hand option.
550,000 baht.
To put things into perspective.
Are there no second hand car dealers near to where you live? Just go into any of them and ask what is the cheapest car in the yard, at least you will get an idea of what's available for low prices.
I'm in au at work and soon to be an unemployed FIFO worker...
Will have a look then, I'm just trying to get an idea at what I'm facing and some handed down local knowledge.
I'm getting just that.

Perhaps I better do a new searchEven a 20 year old car is 38,000 baht.
"Looking for bitter and betrayed Farang that wants to sell the family vehicle worth 100000 baht for $1000 Aussie

And I've already said that 25,000 baht won't buy you much, because cars sell for Baht in Thailand, not Aussie dollars. You don't say where you're located, but Pattaya has dozens of dealers along Sukhumvit Road, try shopping around or alternatively buy the Pattaya Trader for private sales. There are also notice boards at some of the major supermarkets advertising private cars. Is that enough info for you?Your math is outstanding giddyup!
However I'm looking for a cheap car (as in an inexpensive old bomb, second hand, used from $1000 upwards)
NOT the exchange rate or how much it is in THB
Thnx
That's great, thnx a heap.
I'm up north in NK btw, but if I have to look/go elsewhere doesn't bother me.
Cheers

I'm interested in buying a second hand car, two or four door hatch, four cylinder runabout that's cheap
(To run and buy)
Any suggestions as to how to go about buying privately, or do they have second hand car yards like in Australia where you can buy something for about $1000 upwards?
Any suggestions will be gratefully appreciated.

Looking for a second hand car.

Oh yeah no doubt.
At the end of the day I was curious as to the price of a second hand car, and it appears Aussie is by far the better option to buy one from some dodgy car dealer that can be found anywhere in the country. - Not going to happen....and the way Thais go in over their heads to "keep up with the Pornchits" they probably need to recover more money off a used vehicle than the rest of us to pay their debts.
Considering the prices of new cars I've seen I honestly thought a second hand car would be relatively easy to get cheap!
Not the case so I'll shop around when I get back next week, see what deals or bargains I can find and then tell the missus to walk everywhere...
Thanks for all the comments
