Hi all,
I am a bit confused about the requirement to have an appointment at the embassy in Penang. When I visit the page of the embassy for Penang and click on Visa > Appointment it always leads me to Kuala Lumpur.
The actual appointment has to be made here https://lny.io/RTEKL
This is again for Kuala Lumpur. Do I make the appointment for Penang on there or is it just not required? I will have to get a Non B Visa next week.
Thank you in advance
PS. : called the embassy in Penang, no appointment required. This can be closed.

Thank you, the 150i Click has no key though, but I will see if I can get this done without key. Probably also just going to Honda and asking for an english manual.
I saw a video about the PCX and how its done, and that guy also explained it like you just did. If I had a key I would not use the remote at all I guess, its kind of annoying and a not very small actually haha.
-
Thank you for the quick reply, I was trying to go through this one a while back, but the PCX has an extra key.
I guess in fact the procedure should be around the same, but the Click 150i doesn't have an extra key so it's unfortunately still a little different.
My bike seems to be in some silent mode now, does not lock itself any longer. There are like 10 pages just about this Smart Key, but whatever I tried didn't help.
-
Hey there,
Not sure if this is the right place to post. For some reason I had put my bike into a silent mode and now my remote behaves differently.
There are Smart key instructions in the manual, but my thai is not good enough to understand. Anyone here that knows how to put the bike into different modes? Or anyone that has an english manual, the pages with the Smart Key instructions would be already enough.
Thank you in advance. -
Thanks guys, went to Patong and got it from there today then. Took around 20 mins and was free so its probably up to their mood
Got the new 150i Click right after, great bike btw.

Hi all,
As the title says, not sure whether they still do this. I live in Kamala and do not want to drive all the way to Phuket Town if not necessary.
If someone knows where to download the form as well that would be great.
Thank you in advance.
Edit: Found the form -
Thank you Ubonjoe, that makes things clear then. I arrived 2009, left the country I think 2013/14 after I received the new passport, and during this time only extended my stay every year.
So I had 1 page full of previous stamps as the original entry was made 2009 , ugh haha.
-
Thank you for the very quick answers which are very helpful.
There was a time when you didnt have to leave the country while on an ED Visa every year and I was always able to get a new Visa within the country directly from the school/immigration.A few years ago that changed and since then you need to leave every year and get the Visa at one of the Embassies outside of Thailand.
Could that be the reason why they actually transferred so many stamps in mini format into the new passport? So from what I understand this shouldnt be the case this time and I should only see an annotation from last year in the new passport which is totally fine.

Hi there,
A few years ago I went to my Embassy in Bangkok and got a new passport from there, during that time I was on my last extension for an ED Visa.Of course I had to wait a few weeks for the passport and when I received it the first page was filled with most of the visas I had prior to that which I really didnt like much.
My passport is almost full again and I will have to get another again soon. Again I am on my last extension before I require a new Visa.
My question now is, do they always transfer all the old visas as a note to the new passport? I would like to get a blank passport for reasons many understand, only the last extension should be in it and not everything which doesnt look good if I want to apply for another Visa. I will get a marriage visa anyway after this year, but I do not want them to transfer all the visa stamps into my new passport, as if they wanted to make a note of "hey, that guy had quite a few visas in the past already" .
Does anyone know something about this? Is it always like this?
Thank you in advance :) -
Its true, the Elite visa is a good option and was considering that one as well.
I havent had any troubles with the ED Visa though and like to go to school, its a good way to get to know people in the area and in your age and you automatically get a Visa for that.
Everyone wants to go the cheapest route and without much hassle thats currently the ED Visa, but after all those years its getting more complicated.
I would switch to the Elite visa as soon as its not worth going for an ED Visa, maybe soon :)
Maybe I should just marry the girlfriend lol, maybe its time after 6 years :D

Hi Ubonjoe,
Thank you for the quick reply,
Yes right, May 2nd is the date I have to show up again at Jomtien immigration.
That would be the 1st extension for the 1 year stay, unfortunate that I just got the visa.
I know they now write the name of the school in Laos on the Non-ED, already thought this might be a problem.
Really dont want to do that trip again hahaha, so I would have to think about it first.
-
Not sure how this is getting this topic in any way forward, but I have had quite a few ED visas already, so lets say visa hunting :)
I do not work here and dont have to, I am 32 years old now and lucky enough to have a good amount of money to stay here for at least 20 more years.

Hi there,
You guys always help me out when I dont know whats next, I hope you can suggest something here as well :) I appreciate all the help, thanks in advance.
So I got my ED Visa at a school in Pattaya at the beginning of February, went to Laos and came back as usual.
I will have to get my stay extended again on May 2 which is no problem. I have been for holidays in Phuket and would rather want to stay here, just more my thing.
My question now is, is it possible to change my location to Phuket and still keep my current ED Visa? I am aware of having to pay again at the new school, but thats ok.
I know its not a huge issue to do so in the same city, but what is if I would like to move?
Thank you in advance

Thanks a lot for all the replies, thats really helpful.
I have a yellow book and it doesnt seem to be a huge problem getting all the other documents.
I guess I will just give it a try and see how it goes, at least I got everything thats needed for it.

Hi there,
I have seen a thread recently where someone claimed they got offered a Thai ID for foreigners. So I have been here for a while, but I am on an ED Visa.
Am I able to obtain such an ID card? I stay in Jomtien, Pattaya.
What documents would be required for it. Unfortunately I cant find that other thread anymore, but it was 1-2 weeks ago I think.
Thanks a lot in advance.- 1

Thank you very much for the super fast reply
Glad to hear I can get a double entry from Savannakhet as well, the same day service is great, thats why I asked about.Thank you ubonjoe
-
Current 1 Year ED Visa running out on February 15 , its still the 1 year extension I got so I just report my address every 3 months rather than getting all the paper stuff from the school.
Wanted to get a double entry tourist Visa from Vientianne and marrying within that time. Should be enough time to do that all. After that just getting the Non O and extending to 1 year when back.
My question is, do I need to show flight tickets when I apply for a double entry tourist Visa?
Any requirements or complications for a double entry, and at Savannakhet, can I get a double entry there as well?
I wanted to do the 60 days, extending 30 days. Out of the country and the same again.
Thank you in advance guys
-
I guess its not possible, but I still wanted to ask.
You cant get that done for just 1,2,3 years as example?
I dont need 5 years, at least not yet and an option of 3 years would be great to have. -
They dont offer 1,2,3 years huh? 100k a year is fine, but 500k in 1 payment hurts a little..
-
Thank you ubonjoe and IMA_FARANG Now its all clear and I guess I will try to get the extension at the immigration after getting a new Non - O, if not Savannakhet is the way to go
-
Exactly what I wanted to hear, was confused about that earlier. Thank you ubonjoe!!
Marriage will be in March next year after my return, so I probably have to go to Savannakhet when the tourist visa runs out.For the 40k income proof, is a statement from the bank enough proof? I get around 120.000 a month from abroad, that would be obviously easier so I dont have to leave the country every 90 days.
-
Hey all
Next year February my visa is due, planning to go back to my home country for 2 weeks vacations and returning on a tourist visa. Before that one expires I wanted to get a marriage visa in Savannakhet as that seems the easiest solution.
You can get a Non - O multiple entry 1 year visa based on marriage, now I have heard you need to leave the country every 90 days? Is that true?
Is it not possible to do a 90 day report at the Jomtien immigration, or did I misunderstand that? Thats not really clear to me.Thank you in advance
-
Thanks again ubonjoe
Thats all I needed to know -
Are regular (monthly) international deposits into a thai bank account a proof of income just by showing the bank statement?
Exactly that is what I am also trying to find out, my online banking account even states that it is an "International Transfer"
That proof should be fine, hopefully...Now do I say I support myself in the form or do I say that for example my parents support me?Receiving a regular income from abroad working for a company abroad to my thai bank account, the question is, am I allowed to say so?
Thanks again
Extension of Amnesty Unlikely?
in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits

Everyone here talking about sending the tourists home. I have been living here since 2009 and I just need to get out and back in for a new 1 year extension.
I am not allowed to do this inside the country (I tried), in Thailand. I simply have to visit an embassy outside of Thailand first. Many others are in the same boat. Not everyone is a tourist and still on amnesty, and who wants to go "home" then? Thailand is my home...
