  1. Yours has left you. I have sent mine home this morning.

People here are mentioning money. Well, as mine has been away from her work in her shop, I have been giving her 5K a month. Not a lot at all considering she buys her Thai food with it, face creams, lotions and potions too + some items of clothing. When she gets back home and I go to the UK, she will work every day in her shop and not ask me for 1 Baht.

All she asks me to do is keep my cock to myself when we are apart and I am happy to do that.

18 months together so far and there have been problems and no doubt will be in the future, but certainly no fighting or arguments over money.

Those who leave after asking for more, well, it shows what they are after and it is not your heart!!

  2. Ahhhh, the joys of knowing where to look for a beer and a chat with friends clap2.gif

Yes, I had several beers with friends last night, ban or no ban. As ever, it is a case of knowing where to look.

Though I do feel for those down for the weekend or those just starting their holidays.

Tonight is no problem for me as I willo be at Swampy, waiting for my flight out - sadly crying.gif

  3. Far too often, deluded men take a young Thai wife to their home country and then find they are left with little or nothing. They keep pouring money down the toilet and cannot see they are flushing it away.

In his case he knew she was cheating on him and that he was sharing her when she came at weekends for sex. Yet he still tried to buy her affections. That does make him a fool or desperate.

£90,000 could have bought him an awful lot of 'happiness' here in Thailand and with much younger, possibly sexier women. To blow that on a 50 year old? What a waste!!

Let it be a warning to others.

  4. If I meet a woman in a bar or restaurant in the U.K., that does not make her a prostitute. Meeting a woman here in a bar or restaurant does not make her a prostitute either.

Many female groups go to bars / clubs / restaurants to celebrate birthdays amongst other things. Some even for a good night out.

The idea that all women we meet in a bar are prostitutes is pathetic.

There is a huge difference between a bar girl and a girl in a bar, though some cannot understand that, sadly.

  5. Wherever I go I wear knee length shorts and sandals. Daytime I generally wear a T-shirt with them. Evenings I wear a dress shirt with them when I go to the bar or wherever.

I dress to feel comfortable and do not care what others think of how I dress.

Immigration I wear shorts, sandals and a dress shirt. Same for each time I go for a driving licence. I have never had a problem.

My clothes are clean, I shave, have a number 2 cut and shower often, because I want to. Not because of what others might think of me.

    Each to their own.

  6. Early autumn I was in the UK. Temperatures between 5 & 9 deg C. I thought it was wonderful, except when working outside. Refreshing breezes too. The odd day of frost.

Compared to the heat in Thailand and the amount of rain here, I welcome going back to the 3 seasons I am used to.

I too hate going out on the hottest days and melting into a puddle, with sweat streaming out of every pore in my body. Though this current cooler weather is great - no fans, no air con on except when in bed or having sex.

  7. What hair?

Wait...... my hair is flesh coloured. Sometimes a bit red when out in the sun without me 'at on. Other times a slightly tanned colour after being out too often without me 'at on.

Maybe I could colour it with whitening cream so I look younger and sexier than I already am!! wub.pngw00t.giflaugh.png

  8. to me, it looks like the video card is fried.

if your motherboard has an onboard GPU, take out the video card and try to connect the monitor to the motherboard's VGA and see if that works.

That's what my gutt was telling me. Had a few non-start fits the past 9 months or so, but never saw this type of failure msg before.

Had this Dell XPS 420 nearly 6 years, so guess it's done well.

Will take it to the shop and see about a video card. it's just my daily internet/email rig, nothing heavy.

    Thanks,

    J

Power off, remove the card, clean the contacts (cloth and some Isopropyl alcohol) then reinsert the card. Sometimes a card will work enough to get ID'd but not run.

Did that with alcohol on vid card, no change. Did same on the 4 mem sticks and good to go again!

Thanks for the tip, seems to have done the trick. I usually just dry brush the contacts and carefully vacuum out the slots.

I feel it's about time for some major component to fail on my older computers, and I thought this was it. Not yet I guess... thumbsup.gif

Vacuum the slots? Static electricity from that can damage your components, as I recall.

Use a paint brush with fibre bristles, not nylon ones.

  9. I had this problem with a single spare wheel and tyre last year. I searched many places but to get a single rim was - for me - impossible. I even tried the scrap yard on the way out of Pattaya heading towards Regents School.

Everywhere would only sell a set of 4 rims sad.png

Though I did get a set of 4 rims for 7000 baht from a tyre shop near the scrap yard and I kept one of my originals as a spare.

That price isn't far removed from the 2500B for one new rim I was quoted in town. Were they new plain steel rims also?

Strange that they should only sell them in sets. One would have thought there would be quite a demand for single replacement rims, either due to theft or accidental pot-hole damage.

My thoughts exactly as my alloy was broken in a large, unseen pothole in the dark. Yet I could not buy a matching rim anywhere and even opted for a steel one to use as a spare with no luck.

Those I bought were alloy rims. Not the best alloys but as I was selling the motor before much longer, the quality did not matter.

I could not discover where these tyre places sent all the part sets of rims to. It ocurred to me that there might be quite a few sets of 3 rims about.

Steel rims in Pattaya seem to be hard to get for whatever reason, but do not let my experience put you off, there must be somewhere that does them. Yet no-one I spoke to seemed to know where.

One further thought that just popped into my head.......

On the way out of Pattaya heading along Sukhumvit road in the direction of Chon Buri, on the left there is a small roadside stall selling wheel covers for steel rims. Possible they might have some idea.

In the Uk there are scrap yards everywhere. Walk in find what you want and no problem. Seems odd to me that there seems to be so few scrap yards here. Best place I did know was that one north of BKK at Rangsit? and that is massive.

  10. If it had not been for the problems with the lifts, I would have got a place in the D building, but when talking about walking up 8+ flights of stairs with a bad back, that is a no-no for me.

I know quite a few people who reside there and for that reason + the size of the rooms, it would have been good.

Seems very few places in / around Pattaya do single steel rims.

But, good luck on your search and if you do find a place, there would be a few people interested in where, so do please post back.

  12. A pity you want no further out than 3rd road.

Where I am currently is 42 sq mtrs corner room with windows on 2 sides so plenty of light.. I cook on the balcony. 1st floor. Quiet, clean and 50 Baht to beach road on a m/c taxi.

CCTV (and the landlady lives below me and has the CCTV screen in her place).

    Plenty of m/c parking.

TMN wifi at 350 Baht a month.

Cable tv included - but smallish tv.

No bedding / towels / pots or cooking utensils (but I bought my own, and an induction cooker.)

1300 Baht for water and elec last month - hot showers but too cool for aircon.

    6000 Baht a month.

    5000 deposit.

Tesco lotus small - 250 mtrs away. 7/11 300 mtrs. BigC 1.5 kms.

    motocy rental 2500 p.m nearby.

And anyone reading this might want to know it will be available from 28th Jan. As I am heading back to the UK early.

Yes, there are some quiet, clean places available cheap smile.png

This one is on soi Arunothai.

  13. The lifts in D block (only one working sometimes) are a pain especially if on higher floors. They have had problems for months now. People having to walk up 10+ flights of stairs to their rooms. Don't be fooled by reports saying they will be fixed in a few days - they have been saying that for months.
