  1. Had it been in Thai currency, the case would have been found to not have enough evidence as the money was not recovered. (Split between the manager, maid and police)..

Your answer fits perfectly with your username, it's poisonous thumbsup.gif

For information 5.000 Rubles is a little less than 5.000 Bahts so the Police and the manager would have had less than 2.000 Bahts each in fact your answer is also stupid... have a good time on TV!

its called pandering to the pre-gathered masses.

  2. I told a bar girl, once, that as I was so handsome I should not have to pay more than 300 baht. She said ... "300 ! You wont get much for that". Later I passed the same bar with my wife. The bar girl shouted out to me .. "See ... I told you you wont get much for 300 baht".

and you still have that wife? i mean she didnt take exception ?

  3. the following event took place 35 years ago in San Francisco.

Me (young lawyer) was asked to meet a buddy of mine (contractor) on a Friday night at an upscale yuppie bar. As always i was a little early. The place was packed with all the beautiful people, I wanted a drink! looked at Bar area and amazingly saw a void. Nudged my way to that area only to find the most stunning, amazingly beautiful women I have ever seen (Playboy material)...and since nobody was around her ...I went up to her and said "I guess you must have farted as nobody is around",,,well she just laughed so hard and then she asked me if she could by me a drink. Well...I accepted!...Still a little stunned that she was so down to earth she explained to me that her beauty just intimidates people. Well ....my buddy the contractor comes in with his scruffy overalls and pulls up to have a drink with us ...

Long story short ....he takes her home ..and tells me she was the wildest thing he ever had...

Moral of the story....don't be intimidated by anyone....we're all equal

i would have said moral of the story, dont believe everything contractors tell you!

although very long ago i have had woman who could get anyone she wanted (fit blond attractive witty charming talented) tell me that she had more fun with this segment. she worked also as a piano player parttime (nightjob) in night places. (actually i said no when she got me to her place in a drunken state and proposition me. can you believe that? still was a good friend though)

  4. I've traveled from Nanning China to Mong Cai border North Vietnam by car in 2007 and found that the

highway/expressway was incredibly developed. I would think from Kunming to the Lao border must have similar

nice developed highways leading to the border.

while back in southern china near laos did see highway construction happening so could well be finished and at a stretch you could possibly call it an expressway. but then you have to go through laos and although the roads may be new/newish there is no way you could call them expressway and the terrain as mention is horrendous, to put a straightish flatish road through there isnt going to happen for a very long while.

have seen the vientiane -kunming sleeper buses dont know the price. but OP is asking about through chiang kong in northern thailand not the north east.

  5. When I was in Cha-am in 2010 a Swedish lady tourist was killed by one. She is not the only one in Thailand by any means to die in this manner, though as usual here, bad news is effectively hushed up in as many cases as possible.

Still a higher chance of being hit by a bus though.

hmm yeah there is a reasonable clean creek that runs out at the northern end of the beach so if the stingers are attracted by brackish it makes sense. then and again there are a hell of a lot of thais in the waters there daily, so it cant be too frequent. maybe seasonal too but i dont know

  6. "In Thailand, you can be too Hansum"

Yes,.. I know,,... and that's why I stay home and don't go out so much!tongue.png

if i dont open my door for two days in a row i feel an expanded sense of achievement. three days and it close to ecstasy. four days and i am on cloud nine. five dayz i havent managed yet even during songkran when the is will power is the greatest

  7. was sitting in a bar on samui long ago drinking my OJ admiring the scenery, when a guy walked up and wasnt getting much attention. pull out his wallet purposely displayed a sheaf of big ones and said he didnt have much time as he had a wife nearby. he was suited quick smart. whole scene probably 30 seconds max and he walk gingerly away with a good looker.

  8. seems you still have time why not a border run to aranyaprateth before you go?

after the airport songtaew goes over the railway bridge http://goo.gl/maps/mqtM3 it turns left. from this turn it is duplicating the red bus route all the way down petchkasem, and then also turns right into Tesco's Kanjanavich road. catch the red bus on the same side of the street as the songthaew drops you off. but some airport songthaew dont go further down petchkasem or to tesco http://goo.gl/maps/s8V2y but they all go over the railway bridge and to what is called plaza on this map http://goo.gl/maps/VXZt3, so you have many choices where to get off.

best option for the big red bus is padang border not sadao border.

  9. This has nothing to do with Thailand, or Linux for that matter.

tru but does have interest to those who have more than a casual relationship with their computer. and this is the section for that.

  10. In my day the girls who went over to the guys were the ugly ones, anyway. The lookers were too busy, too popular and too proud to make the first move.

    you no hansum man.

when i am at immig doing the stuff, i often note that the long term farang man indeed are on average more hansum than your average charlie in the west and often stunningly so. the thai girls get to pick from the pick of the crop and they dont need to miss the mark.

me i am single no thai wife or gf.

  11. why wasnt there any mention of the zillions on eco cars on alibaba. where can you buy these in thailand? or why cant you buy these in or get these to thailand?. there is also one or two from india that would suit me too. similar questions. i remain yours well and truly uncarred. buying into to this fiasco goes against the grain too much.

  12. there is one other way that you can do this too. catch the early morning butterworth train to padang then wait at the station for the KL to hatyai train. sometimes and if you are lucky with no delays or other issues on either train this is the most comfortable easy way to do it. perhaps an hour and a half turnaround at padang. not the cheapest as you have to pay sleeper and express charges on the butterworth train but the return train doesn't have these charges, else you can walk through the border and catch the big red bus back to hatyai. stops at the bus stop just across the road from after thai immigration clearance.

train feels probably safer than the bus. not absolute safe because bombings have occurred at hatyai station some time ago now.

oh yes buy enough snacks and drinks to complete the task from seven11 before you go because food at padang station where you may have to wait some time is dreadful bordering on toxic.

  13. spent a few hours in that train station late one evening. was entertained by the village children/youths taking turns to do aerobic dancing inside the station there. freaked me right out. i was petrified. thought they were all on meths and were about to do atrocious things. one of them even did the lost/unknown father questioning routine. that was scary too. was very pleased when the train finally arrived. was the train station on the main line not on the short branch there.
