Many things are much easier, but also remember that things can go wrong in an instant in Thailand. Road traffic accident for instance, not your fault, but it is because you are a foreigner. Someone injured you could go to prison. No one will help you as a foreigner, you pay big.

I actually have a friend going through all this at the moment. Not his fault, 160,000B to pay. Plus his own vehicle now wrecked, and the two losses together!

I got price for my wife only around one week ago, Buriram to Pattaya 2160B. Quite expensive I think.

Thailand has to come down hard on this sort of thing including these street racers. The way things are at present it makes a mockery of the law. Thailand has enough laws for all these issues but they are not enforced.

Simple things like no number plate on a motor cycle goes without the police taking action. I may be daft but every motor cycle I have bought has come with a number plate so there is no excuse for not having one.

Crimes of violence like this police shooting should give the guy at least 15 years behind bars.

Difficult times for the honest Thai worker be they in tourism or agriculture. The only way out I see for the rice crisis is to simply print the money.

These incidents reflect badly on all foreigners visiting Thailand, even though it is an individual committing the crime, on a subconscious level in the Thai public mind these crimes tarnish the image of all visitors. We are honoured guests, and as guests should behave properly and maintain high personal standards regardless of how the local corruption situation may be.
