  1. Hi all, I have been buying some rather nice wooden weather vane windmills. I need a large quantity of them and wish to find the factory where they are made.  If anyone is aware of the name & location of this manufacturer I would very much appreciate the useful piece of information. I attach a couple of photos so you can exactly what I am talking about.... regards jhan

  2. Hi, I live in Sakon Nakhon and need a supply of used steel barrels (usually blue) and the size i need are about 53 cm high and about 28 cm diameter. I cannot find a supply up hear, but have heard there is a factory in si sa ket that deals in them.
Can someone with their ear to the ground please help me with this search.  Regards  John Hancock

  3. Yes, that sounds like a good tip. Thanks.

i get my mail box in uk forwarded every month with all sorts of bits and pieces and never any problem, and parcels usually arrive in about 7 days.

i think I will change horses to Royal Mail etc ....

  4. Hi,  I am from the UK. I suffer from Obstructive Sleep Apneoa and have a CPAP machine for it.

However, my REMstar CPAP machine has just died and my UK hospital has issued me replacement one, free of charge, which my daughter is going to post to me in Thailand.

We plan to mark the package  " Replacement Prescription Item, No commercial value", which I think is true & correct.

I understand that import duties into Thailand can be a bit high and somewhat difficult to understand. Does anyone have any experience on how this package might be treated by Thai customs regarding any taxes etc.

    Thanks

    JH

  6. Yes, quite a good idea, but the uk home office take about 6 weeks to reply.

Since I have been here, I have been stopped by the police several times in routine roadside checks, and they have always only been interested in seeing my UK driving Licence. I always keep a photocopy of my passport and visa in my wallent, as i do not like carrying my passport 100% of the time.. Jhan

  7. Hi, I would like some advice with this dilema.

I am currently living in Thailand, and have a non-immigrant O visa with multiple entry, and wish and plan to stay here in thailand.

My Thai wife is living in the UK, and is in the final throws of getting UK citizenship, when the UK Home Office have asked again to have my uk passport, her Thai passport, and our marriage certificate. Even though we paid extra for ducument checking when we did the application and they saw all the above documents.

This leaves me with 2 options. 1. fly back to the uk and wait until they return my passport, OR post my passport to her to do the necessary with the Home Office.

Both these options seem insane to me. Can anyone please advise on any alternatives or the pitfalls of posting my passport back to the UK.

    Regards

    Jhan

  8. Hi, I too am getting confused if I should be registered with Thai Immigration. I have just moved to thailand and have a 1 year Non-Immigrant O visa with multiple entry, issued in the Uk. I know i need to leave thailand and re enter ever 90 days, which i naturally will do, and plan to get a marry visa or retirement visa some time next year.

I have rented a house on a 12 month contract, and asked with the farang landlord if he needed to register me with immigration, to which he said a fairly confident "No". However, I would like confirmation if this is correct. Jhan
