Just a wild guess: 90-day reporting is low-volume, low-priority and doesn't bring any cash per se, so no reason to throw the best Computer Science experts at this problem.

    Tourist visa might be different.

Having the 90-day reporting done on the internet would decrease the officers doing the 90-day reporting. So these officers could been doing other work that could have revenue. But many people can't think further or anticipate. Anticipate is a verb that is unknown in Thai language !!!

  2. A friend went to Vientiane to get a new visa. His arrival card was torn out of his passport damaging the page. Thai consulate would not give him a visa because is passport (one page) was damaged. He really got in to big $#!t as his passport was invalid. Also he was denied (legal) entry to Thailand because of this. He had to enter Thailand illegaly to visit his embassy for getting a new passport. At the embassy he even got fined for having a damaged passport.

My advise: use a paperclip, don't staple (officialy not allowed by Dutch government and it invalids your passport) !!!

Deportation is decided by the courts. I don't think that Imm' office can do it on the spot.

In the OP's case I think there has been a massive communication problem with ref to the 'case'/'lawsuit' as mentioned before.

It might even be the case that Imm' were trying to do him a favour but things got screwed up due to the comms' problem.

Anyway he seems to be back here now so hope all goes well for him in January.

Already for 2 years this court case gets postponed and postponed, delayed, postponed and postponed, then justice department doesn't show up, or the files aren't there, or the suspects, etc. etc.... Talking big money here!

And for all those others. I don't have a criminal record !
What I do have is a Thai wife (with a Dr. degree and so do I)

If that were the reason they would have told you, or your lawyer. Plus, why would they send you to Holland for a Thai lawsuit, does not make any sense.

Did you have a re-entry permit when you left during the under consideration period?

I had a multiple re-entry permit during the consideration period. It was stamped on page 8.
Normally leaving Thailand at least twice per month for business.

I still think, and this didn't just come up, that it was a tactic of the defending party having me NOT in court on Jan 16th as the main witness & plaintiff on a multi million law suit. That's why our lawyer and my wife were trying to find out last Friday at immigration.

That sounds improbable as a reason. If you had ever been a convict here you would have been deported upon release, and they know this.

What visa are you on? I don't mean to be intrusive but you have posted on other threads that you runs at least three businesses here, and moved one to Cambodia, maybe you have been indiscreet, and exposed yourself?

At least you can relocate to Cambodia and still have an income, thereby insulating yourself from the worst of that very unattractive option!

I am having several business overhere.

I could also have applied for a business visa as I had till 2014.

But this needs way more paper work than a NON-O based on Thai Wife.

Also having my working permit based on a NON-O Thai Wife.

I don't need to stay in Thailand to secure myself of an income. The only thing that I am (still) here is my wife.

    There is always a reason.

I know that there must be a reason.

It was NOT mentioned to me nor my wife nor our lawyer.

She had  a conversation with our lawyer with one of the highest ranking officers at Immigration at Chaeng Wattana (Government complex) today.

What might have been the reason is that they didn't like the passport picture added to the application.

I never had a problem, I always let my wife do the talking. I only sit and smile...

  8. There was absolutely no reason for it... Now I am back in Thailand. My wife even travelled to Europe with all our papers on a emergency visa. I had to get a visa from Holland which was denied because I was not living in Holland nor did have any income in Holland in my life.

On my way back, I went to Singapore, had my 60 days there (tourist)

You say: " It is written in the police order that you get 7 days to leave if your application is denied. "

This is NOT true. It is just at the discretion of the immigration officer...

  9. Dear all,

New rule at Chaeng Wattana Immigration (Government Complex)

On Nov 16, 2016 I had to appear in person to receive my 1 year NON-O extension based on Thai wife.

It was denied on the spot without any comment. They even had to let me wait till everyone else was done (17:30 h).

I had to make a reservation on the spot to leave Thailand with the first available DIRECT flight to Amsterdam, The Netherlands (where I was born and only lived for the first 3 months of my life).

I then was escorted to Suvarnabhumi Airport to the check in. (No luggage at all, only my passport and my notebook) and to the immigration to check out Thailand...

I heard that: "It is written in the police order that you get 7 days to leave if your application is denied."

This is NOT true. It is just at the decision of the immigration officer...

It seems you are probably on a under consideration stamp with a 30 day report back date shown on it. It is is unlikely your extension will be disapproved.

A under consideration stamp allows you to stay until your extension is approved or disapproved. If disapproved you would be given 7 days to leave the country.

Not true. No 7 days given in my case !!!

I had to report on Nov 16, 2016 for my extension on my NON-O based on Thai wife. My passport was stamped and I had to leave the same day. I was even picked up by immigration police at Chaeng Wattana and escorted to Suvarnabhumi Airport. I had to make a reservation to Amsterdam for the first available DIRECT flight when I was hold up at the Government Complex at Chaeng Wattana...

  11. I had my prescribed glasses (with special tainted lenses for better eye sight) send out, to the optician where I have bought it, for a repair they couldn't do in Thailand. A screw just broke off and had to be drilled out.

My glasses were still under warranty, bought them when I was in Europe for 2 months. Back in Thailand one of the screws that was in the temple just broke off. So I had it send with the receipt (copy) and they had to replace the complete frame. It was send back with a copy of the original invoice. I had to wait for over 3 months, when I got the message from the shipper, that I could pick it up at the Thailand Post custom department in Lak Si. I went down there and I had to pay import taxes for over 15,000 THB !!!

I just told them to shuff it up their a$$#ole$.

Another 3 months later I got a message that a parcel had arrived and I had to pick it up at the Thailand Post custom department in Lak Si. Same package, but now I had to pay 1,000 THB import taxes and 6 months storage (250 THB/month for a package of 5 x 5 x 25 cm (renting a warehouse in Lak Si is cheaper)) for 1,500 THB. Totaling 2,500 THB...

  12. JUST TO RECONFIRM, YOUR 90 DAY REPORT STARTS FROM WHEN YOU ENTER/RE-ENTER THE COUNTRY

    It used to be.

I re-entered Thailand after a 6 week stay in Europe. At arrival the immigration officer even told me that I had to report myself at Immigration in Wattana. I asked him and later also in Wattana if the 90 days didn't start at the airport. They denied because my 90 days weren't finished when I arrived back in Bangkok. If I re-entered after my 90 days were valid, it would start at the day re-entering. It didn't cost me anything else than 3 hours for going to Wattana.and back.

  13. A good friend (IT developer and working for a university in Bangkok) was arrested in October last year on his way to Vientiane for overstaying his Visa by 2 hours. As he was born in Luxembourg with both parents having the Cuban nationality, Only if 1 of the parents is Luxembourgisch, you can have the Luxembourgisch nationality. For import it is impossible. He was send to Cuba, had to pay his flight himself, what was pretty expensive (150,000 THB) by Air China to Beijing, Havanna. Right now he's in Luxembourg with a big red stamp in his Cuban passport saying forbidden access to Thailand or its properties (airports) till November 2020 !!! So the 5 year rule was there already in November last year.

  14. The official fine in Thailand for not carrying your passport on you is 200 THB and not 500 THB. So you got screwed.

A drivers license has never been an official ID in Thailand !!!

I was taken to Huai Kwang Police station earlier this year for not having my passport or a copy of my passport on me. I only had my Thai driver licenses. Had to wait for hours till my wife with my passport showed up. I got fined 200 THB. They even had to call some D.A. for the height of the fine.

Having a copy of your passport with you is only tolerated in Bangkok !!! Thai law requires to have a valid ID on you at all times.

  15. For a re-entry permit, just go to the local immigration office.

Just don't do it at Suvarnabhumi !!!

I did it myself at the Government Complex in Chang Wattana. A couple of friends thought it was unnecessary and wanted to do it at Suvarnabhumi.

All of them left the country without a re-entry permit on seperate occasions.

One friend had to cue up and had to wait for over 2 hours, almost missing his plane. He got his passport back without a re-entry permit and he paid 1,200 THB.

Another friend was there during the night and they just told him that he only could get a re-entry permit between 6 AM and 12 midnight.

The third one did not have the right picture and copies of his passport, visa and departure card. They couldn't help him.

How many years ago was that.

For a long time now the re-entry permit desk is open 24 hours a day. Since they started charging a 200 baht fee they do the form, photo and copies for you.

This was in June 2015 !!!

    1. A Co., Ltd. must have at least 3 Thai share holders, max 7.
    2. The foreigner may not have more than 49% of the shares.
    3. In case there are only 2 Thai and 1 foreign share holders the shares of the foreign share holder are limited to 39%. (Thai 61%)
    4. For each working permit the company needs to have 2,000,000 THB registered and placed capital and 4 Thai staff members.
    5. In case the foreigner is a female married with a Thai (male) then the registered and placed capital is 1,000,000 THB and only 2 Thai staff members.
