Sad part is. He must return to the bank immediately upon their opening to collect his card otherwise the bank will cut it in half. I always hated when their ATM machines ate my card. It happens if making a mistake with your PIN number 3 times.. Once, it happened to me while travelling. I did not return to that bank to collect my card for 2 days. When i got there they had already cut it in half and disposed of it.

This guy must have been pissed off to do the damage it claims. He will surely have to pay damages so I hope his card has a lot of money on it.

They may cut the original in half but when this has happened to me, I merely put a stop on the original card and then go into the bank the next day, tell them the machine swallowed my card and for 100 baht, they promptly issue a new one. Easy peasy.

  2. As an ex-Bouncer for pubs and clubs in Oxford and doing security for bands at the Oxford Apollo I never had to resort to punching anyone. It was all about talking them down and having a conversation. These "thugs" as people call them, have a reason for being like they are, and if you can find out what that is you can talk about it. Clearly, this couldn't work in Thailand because most Thai Bouncers can't speak English.

A straightforward, potential remedy could be the installation of pedestrian footbridges

No, get those f'wits  to abide by the law. This even happens on the crossing that is directly outside Bangkok Pattaya Hospital. I make a point of stopping the ignorant #ankers by sticking out my walking stick in front of them which they don't like but at least it part of the learning curve.

  4. For 6-months I was having major anxiety attacks when I would scream obscenities, punch whatever I could, no sleep, could'nt catch my breath. Tried all the natural remedies, breathing exercises etc nothing worked. I went to see a Mental Health Practitionet at the BPH and I have been on ant-anxiety drugs ever since ... Seroxat, Zolam and Anta. They turned my life around and have had no real side effects. You can't get these drugs in Pharmacies as they are strictly Govt controlled and only available on prescription from the hospital pharmacy.

  5. There's a Zebra Crossing outside the entrance to Bangkok Pattaya Hospital in Pattaya. I go there every 10 days to get treatment for a knee condition so I use a walking stick. Cars don't even stop for someone like me to get across. I now deliberately stick out my walking stick so if they continue they will hit it and hopefully do some damage. If they hit me at least I'm in the right place to get instant treatment.

Don't make a diagnosis on what you read on here. Are you a doctor? Assuming that he is one of your "quality tourists" that is also assumption on your part. Learn how to post will you
