He may not, but somebody sure paved the way for him to return to Thailand, spent a couple of hours in "custody" before being transferred to his luxury hospital bed where he was being treated for life threatening issues.
However he soon recovered due to the expert treatment of Thailands finest Doctors, returning home in a neck brace and arm sling to recuperate during his parole.. which were soon removed to further prove miracles do happen in Thailand.
Since then he's been gallivanting around the country, fine dining with the PM and other politicians, having chats with Hun Sen his best friend from Cambodia and trying to sort out Myanmars problems.. not bad going for a man on parole.
So what?

It is also an expensive pointless exercise bringing back a lifeless lump of flesh and bone simply to dispose of. Disposal here with a memorial service in his home town achieves the same thing - they won't even see a body anyway. It could be anything in the coffin
Stupid remark. People want to be close to their loved ones not 7,000 mile away

The usual begging on GFM, have families no shame these days?
No because they have no money. Is that a problem?

Can't see the problem ... the German was just trying to get out of the cab and the driver was stopping him. No punches thrown or any other, what I would call, physical violence, can be seen

Why are we seeing so many foreigners in Thailand with mental illness?
Do you know much about Mental Health? It doesn't seem like it!

Oh for goodness sake what a whinging load of keyboard warriors but then that's nothing unusual for AN is it? Nothing better to do with your time I guess. I couldn't give a hoot. Learn to live with the law (or non-law) of the land. You are here on a Visa which entitles you to stay for as long as it lets you. Why worry about Thai politics, it's not going to change anytime soon. So go sit in your favourite bar, with a bottle in one hand and whatever else in the other, and just let the time while away the time until you meet your maker. It's not worth getting all up-tight about something that ain't your concern.

Jabs, masks, and social distancing have all been proven to have little impact on the likelihood of catching Covid even during the height of the pandemic so me, gonna rely on my natural immunity and lots of vitamin D.

Good grief what a bunch of sad old gits on here. Get real TiT so let them get on with the way they go about their business. You are a guest in this country and if you don't like go and take a hike back to your own country. It's probably not much better there it's just not so obvious.

82 is not young, but I know several 82 year olds riding motorbikes around Pattaya, driving, and traveling, meeting girls not a problem.
Anyway, too bad he had to pass in this way without family near. RIP sir.
I'm 73 and I plan to be around a lot longer yet. I do weights and swim twice a day. My aim is to see my daughter 1st day at Uni which will be in 6 years time.
