Regardless if he raped this child once or multiple times... Thai justice must be swift and severe, but once in prison, it's hoped that his fellow inmates will take care of the scum pursuant to the "prison code" since "justice" is unable to truly accomplish this because we are suppose to living in a civilized society; therefore, I truly pray the prison code ultimately prevails!
-
This might be wrong to say... but this scum needs to die a brutal death at either the hands of the police and claim he tried to escape, or by one of his future fellow prisoners. Drugs or no drugs... he forfeited his life to live in society or in captivity. I pray they eventually sentence him to death

Wow! <deleted> is happening in LOS??? This has been a crazy sad week for sicking crime committed by a bunch of lowlife sub-humans! A British family is nearly beaten to death, a toddler is brutally killed by the stepdad with a broom stick, and now a defenseless disabled man is also brutally murdered by a another gang of lowlife thugs!!! It appears that everyone seems to blame alcohol in all these incidents? Really??? Again.... <deleted>!!!

Cowards like this do not deserve the benefit of an arrest and trial... they just need to be executed on the spot. I look at my 17 month old daughter, who is half Thai, and I just cannot understand what goes through the mind of someone like this. Its so disgusting and brings tears to my eyes.... a toddler... <deleted>!!!!

This video is only the tip of the iceberg on whats wrong in Thailand. Its very sad, but it shouldn't be all that surprising when the government cannot even get a handle on the fishing industry, which rife with slave labor, even in the face of a total EU ban, and where China and Singapore have joined Japan and South Korea in restricting flights by Thailand's airlines over safety returns... YES... China!!! When China restricts an airlines from entering its air space over safety concerns there is a really serious problem. So, there are other more damaging problems to the country that are systemic, but like this video, government officials want to hide these deep rooted problems, so it shouldn't be all that surprising that there are people out there that want to criminalize the release of this video because these are most likely the same people that want to criminalize the release of recent documentaries that have been bringing to light the appaling fishing industry, as well as the flaws in the air safety that some terrorist group will eventually use to their advantage, and unfortunately, the situation in Thailand is only going to rapidly deteriorate when "certain events" will eventually happen that are bound to happen soon.

And here-in lies the problem with Thailand. They don't see it as a problem with the thugs hitting an old lady - they view it as a problem of the VDO being leaked. Their #1 source of income is Tourism - if they don't protect that industry they will fail. And you don't protect the industry by hiding the truth - you protect that industry by making it a safe place to visit. And while they probably couple not have stopped this (Short of having police presence there to begin with) - but they surely can make an example of these thugs with harsh punishment and highly publicize what happens when you threaten the golden goose.
This is exactly what the point should be... not trying to make excuses that fault somehow lies with the elderly lady or any other member of this family. An apology from the PM would not only send a message that Thailand takes this matter seriously, but that there will also be serious repercussions for anyone that causes damage to Thailand's image with such irresponsible conduct, intoxicated or not, with a very long prison sentence, regardless if such criminal conduct is committed by Thai or foreigner

Looked like granny started it - she don't be doing that again in a hurry.
Oh so I suppose that justifys a thai flying kick... sick in the head ........Thai boy on booze.....Perhaps we should warn all grannies and grandpas not to come to Thailand and visit the neighbouring countries which are much safer and friendly and hospitable.... Thailand you amaze me.... Grinning lot....
No, it does not justify their actions - but is makes clear those Brits and in particula this woman have their guilty part in the story, too
I'm glad to see that you agree that you are not trying to justify their actions... however, I take issue that with your assertion that an elderly woman action are somehow responsible for what happened. Nothing can justify a 20 year old, or 32 years old sub-human trash for viciously attacking an old woman... only a coward would do this and you seem to blame this elderly woman which is irresponsible because I didn't any Thai sub-humans near death on the ground... only an elderly woman and her family on the ground. Even if an elderly woman had hit one of these pieces of crap... there is still no justification for what transpired... unfortunately your inferences are in poor taste and I am sure a majority of the members on this forum would agree with me. This shouldn't be a Thai v. Foreigner because nothing can justify what these scumbag punks did regardless on whether they are Thai, British, American, etc... this was unconscionable crime with no mitigating factors in favor of the prepatrators

That is an incredibly unsympathetic, niaive and distasteful post. What's wrong with some of the 'people' on here?
I agree... to somehow blame "granny" for starting the entire incident is not only a distasteful post... but completely ignorant of the person who made this comment who seems to somehow trying to justify the actions of these lowlifes for beating an old lady and her family almost to death! I wonder how many old women this poster most have beaten in his life to even infer that an elderly woman was the main perpetrator of the entire incident... must have been made by the same person who said that release of the video "damaged the country"
-
I am truly amazed of what officials sometimes say in response to an incident what puts Thailand under a bad light! What "damaged the country" were the cowardly actions of these lowlife punks who viciously attacked an elderly couple and their son under the pretext of intoxication that is suppose to somewhat excuse and/or mitigate their criminal conduct. Comments by officials like this further fuel the situation that is not in favor of Thailand when they try to assert that the release of this video somehow caused damaged to the country when in fact, "but for" the actions of these sub-humans, this would have never occurred! Instead, it would have been more productive to comment on the pending prosecution of these individuals and their eventual punishment to ensure the public and tourist in Thailand and those planning to visit the Kingdom that this will be harshly dealt with, not an inference of a cover-up that release of the video somehow violated the privacy of the victims. To somehow shift the burden on who ever released the video somehow violated the law is ridiculous and reprehensible! It would be more prudent for the PM to issue an apology to this British family, which would go a long way to repair "any" damage caused by this incident, instead of regional officials trying to claim that the release of this video "damaged the country" when the world is watching how Thailand handles this horrible incident. People are not stupid, so maybe something got lost in translation because when officials make these sorts of ridiculous comments, people start to wonder if the authorities would have even taken this matter as serious as they did to arrest these sub-human scum for prosecution. This clearly damaged the country's imagine more then some other incidents in the News that seems to have the PM's attention... I could go on and on but I'm sure the intelligent members of this forum can see where I am going with all this.

Did he really refer to ladyboys as "type two women"? Or did something get lost in translation? Freaking hilarious!!!

These are really nice photos, so I really don't understand any of the criticisms thrown at this couple.... not all thai girls and/or woman work in bars, nor in it only for the money. There are a fair share of bad apples out there just like in every country in the world, but most of us decided to come to Thailand because at least our chances of finding peace are much more better then trying to find it in the Industrial world. Apparently, this guy found his peace... and very beautiful, to say the least

It's about time they take drunk driving serious... long overdue!!! When irresponsible people begin to realize that driving drunk can, and will, result in jail time, fines, and seizure of their vehicles, maybe they will think twice about getting behind the wheel... im sure they enforcement just saved a few lives
-
Maybe the government should start considering new criminal laws with serious jail time for reckless and DUI driving that especially results in injury, instead of the usual slap on the wriest of a few thousand baht fine... and maybe also start confiscating vehicles regardless of who the owner the vehicle is registered, too...

Gotta love the intelligence of some of these yo-yo's.... it's like watching cheap entertainment!

Ok... am I missing something here? The economy is sinking with no clear path to recovery and rice farmers in the North are about to riot, and this government panel is concerned about celebrities posing with booze??? Interesting... very interesting!!!
But they were not just posing with booze, they were posing with Chang. The complainant in this case is the heir to the Singha beer fortune. Perhaps that sheds some light on the subject.
So... what you're saying is that because these celebrities were posing with Chang, the competition (Singha) got so upset that this "heir" filed a police report and got the weigh of the government to investigate this? WOW ... this is quite sad if this is how business competes with each other! It would be hilarious except these managers seem to face some sort of punishment, which the article did not quite describe!

Maybe its time that the government reconsider its policy of foreigners not being able to purchase real property... while not a solution to this "self made" mess they created, it would be a positive step in the right direction and add much need capitol and tax revenue to a struggling economy.

Subway? Hilarious considering the already poor sewage system and areas that are prone to serious flooding. The mayors idea for a mono rail of sorts is a nice idea... unfortunately, this is only a pipe dream and doubt it will ever happen
-
All I can say about the Police Chief's statements is "WOW"!!!! I kind of understand why criminals like to hide out in Thailand

Very sad to hear what's happening to you... I truly wish you the best. If I was in your position, I would stay because your life is in Thailand. You friends and girlfriend are here and if not for the medical situation you're happy here. Going back to the UK is not the answer, and you may not be happy if you go back and in order to fight this as much as possible, you need to have a positive attitude... going back might make you depressed and make the cancer grow more quickly. I sure your kids love you and if anything, they should come to Thailand and be with you as much as possible. Go with your heart... This is a difficult question, for sure... but I feel that your heart is in Thailand, which is why you decided to live and work here for the past 7 years. Some of the responses have suggested that you should go back because of the quality of care in the UK... Unfortunately, this is a progressive cancer and the outcome is not good, but if you there is a chance to overcome the odds.. get back to the UK as soon as possible, but if nothing is to change... enjoy your time with your girlfriend and friends because when that day comes and you are not hear, they will still be here missing you greatly. This is not an easy decision but I truly pray and wish you the best

Student,19, seeks justice after employer claims she stole 10 million baht in gold

Wow... had to read this story twice to make sure I read it right! Hope that the crime suppression unit does a proper investigation and apprehends the "true" criminals because it seems that as long as there is corruption within the police ranks criminal activity will continue to thrive to the point where Thailand is no longer the Land of Smiles. My only legal advice to this young lady is to file a complaint for slander because it is clear that these "accusations" appear to be false on their face because she didn't want to "work" in Hong Kong and then sue the hell out of these people for the damage that this has caused this young lady and her family.
