it's quite cute watching all the i don't know i'm wrong experts blather on in this thread. are you experts on here some of the thai farmers mentioned in the above quote ?
laughable to suggest that the average thai farmer will be able to produce medical grade cannabis extracts. most of these farmers won't even be able to produce a product worth extracting in the first place.
Even the foreign guys doing rooms are having trouble with potency. Apparently lovely flowers but no kick. No idea what a proper outdoor grow would do in THA. Chiang Mai???

Awesome nice!!! The legal cannabis I’ve been buying here for the past year is great but now maybe we’ll be able to get the good California and Canadian stuff here as well. By the way my supplier has been importing it legally from California for over a year.
Not sure I would be posting that up but I feel ya ;)

I see the ladies with the Iphone 10's in line with the moto taxis and some possibly needy people. There are several rotating stations around the Soi Diana/Soi Buokaow area (Pattaya). I spent most the afternoon in the area at my shop and it all looked pretty mellow. Rich Thais making merit mixed in with a few farang doing the same. Wonder how long they will keep it up?

I got my nonOA from that consulate 3 years ago by mail. Sent duplicate copies of everything listed on their web site along with my USA passport and a check for $200.
Got passport back in less than 10 days, done and done.
Same experience here but I think the price has gone up. Used the same FedEx shop across the street to do it all by mail both ways. Very little documentation required when using their service. Lightning fast turn around too. Think I was without my passport for 3 business days. Probably 3rd time I have used them over the years.

It's no wonder they are losing money considering a flight with 227 people requires 22 Thai crew members. WOW.
Exactly. Narita to BKK? Jeez. Regulatory requirement is one FA to every 50 pax. Efficiency at it's finest.

Been on a Non O based on marriage and kids for many years. Currently in the US and wanted to mail my passport to the Houston consulate to re-up my Non O and was told that I had to show up in person, no more mailing of documents. Coral Gables, Florida confirmed this. So now I am caught out as I am returning to LOS tomorrow. Is it possible to enter on a 30 day, go to immigration with all the paperwork and get converted to a Non O without the tax documents? I nor my wife work in Thailand.

Airbus = Throw Away Airplane like a Bic lighter. Should see the issues they are having with the A380, at least the 320 is more reliable. We have to have an Airbus Lover out there somewhere. Come on. If it ain't Boeing, I ain't going.

I don't understand your point. Thai Airways hasn't done anything mysterious..
There are 4 flights daily at approx. 4 hour intervals starting at 8:45. Air Asia only offers 2 flights with one at 8:35
It is normal business practice for airlines to adjust their schedules to reflect loads. If a flight was cancelled it was most likely due to there not being enough pax to justify the economic cost of the flight or there may have been a shift in equipment. The flight at 8,45 still is on the TG schedule. This happens every day with airlines, evenwith low cost carriers such as RyanAir. You criticize TG for lacking business sense. I believe it is you without any business sense.
If the airline had to drop a flight, then it makes sense to drop the flight that is the least profitable. The consumer still has an alternative. You want TG to lower its prices to satisfy you. Really? TG's costs are higher because of the interline services it provides and the significantly higher costs of flying into BKK. TG has a more intensive maintenance schedule than some of the regional LCCs. One can easily reduce costs by stretching the maintenance intervals. This issue has been discussed to death. The landing fees are approximately 40% higher at BKK. The delays associated with ground and air traffic at BKK add to fuel costs. And yet here you come to demand that TG subsidize your air travel.
Are you for real and stating that you believe Thai Airways HAS business sense? As for why TG is high priced you forgot to note the fact that small countries come to Thai Airways to learn about corruption, different engine suppliers on the same model airframes, 3 people for every position, free flights for anyone connected enough etc. How does Scoot offer cheaper fares than Thai Airways? They are a Singapore carrier: are they stretching maintenance intervals? They fly out of Swampy. Mystery: how do they do it cheaper than TG???
Are you also stating that LCC's like Air Asia, Nok Air, Lion Air, Tiger, somehow convince the manufacturer to lengthen their maintenance intervals or are you stating that they just don't do them on time? Which maintenance intervals are you proclaiming to be stretched? 'A' checks, 'C' checks, 15 month checks, life limited component changes, calendar items. Please elaborate on why you know that these LCC's are cutting corners on maintenance. I am sure that the Director of Maintenance at these airlines would love to hear your proof.
Did the OP really DEMAND that TG subsidize his air travel?

I smell another flop of an airline coming and follow in the tracks of: Happy Air, Solar Air, Sunny Airlines, Air Andaman, Air Phoenix, Angel Air, Crystal Thai Airlines, Destination Air, PB Air, Phuket Airlines, Thai Pacific Airlines, U Airlines, R Airlines, PC Air, Thai Sky Airlines, Sky Eyes etc...... Lots of rich Asian boys want to wear the "I own an airline" hat, very few make it. I also love all the creative and ingenious names and motto's they come up with. Orient Thai used to have the motto, " Sky No Limit" and now use "Do it by Heart" (guess that means they don't need checklists). Wonder if these owners ever bothered to ask a native English speaker their opinion on naming their companies???

This is sad.
I travel a lot and stay over 150 night per year in hotels. I always check out the fire escapes and optional escape routes. I try never to stay higher than the 7th floor (not sure what the Boys in Yellow have for equipment here but most countries can reach the 7th floor). I never used to do this until I was involved in a hotel fire in Germany in which I ignored the fire warning for a bit at 03:00 in the morning, smelled the smoke and got out of Dodge fast.
If the alarm goes off, get out. Don't try and call the front desk which is either unoccupied or inundated with calls from other guests. I keep a grab bag on the desk (Passport, wallet, phone etc..)
Obvious questions in this case: Was there an unlocked fire escape (or any at all)? Were there fire alarms? Fire extinguising system? Fire extinguishers?

The Dairy Industry is really big business, with sales of billions for milk and
diary products annually, so you might expect hard line marketing
from them, but would you expect them to aggressively sell their products if
they were known to be harmful to people, especially to women and children?
The cholesterol content of three glasses of milk is equal to
what one would get from 53 slices of bacon.
Do you know of any doctor who recommends that much bacon per day?
In the animal Kindom no animals drink its mother’s milk in
adult life.
"It's not natural for humans to drink cow's milk.
Human’s milk is for humans.
Cow's milk is for calves.
You have no more need of cow's milk than you do rats milk, horses
milk or elephant's milk. Cow's milk is a high fat fluid exquisitely designed to
turn a 65 lb baby calf into a 400 lb cow. That's what cow's milk is for!"
--Dr Michael Klaper MD
Please Google "The Dangers of Cow Milk"
Thanks for saying exactly what I was thinking. All points covered to the tee. Those that have not seen the film "Forks Over Knives" should take a look. Pretty much shoots the Dairy Myth in the foot. You can see how well the dairy industry has effected the US population, huge marketing campaigns and miseducation. My wife never had any dairy products until she was in her late teens - She seems just fine to me. Most Thais have accepted the misconception that milk is essential to good health. Oops.

I would be more than satisfied if they would clear all their gear from the #3 lane on the north side of Sukhumvit so I could drive and/or walk in that lane. There certainly must be a law about clogging up that lane with push carts, motorcycles, tuk tuks, etc...And as for comments from some members that these vendors are not paying anyone off? Hilarious. Do these members believe that they are also paying taxes?

And you are happy to go on living in a place where :"my wife now says I must watch my back as this idiot may pay someone to do something to me for making him loose face while threatening a women" ? Not me, no way.when thai men are brought up to believe they can do what ever they want what do you expect. The other night outside my wifes units she asked a tennant from the unti next door if he could park his car somewhere else because he always parked it acroos our entry(steps up from the road) so none of our tennants could get past it. He camw out with his girlfriend & they threatened to have someone kill her if she did it again, then I realized what was happening and got out of the car, he took off at a great rate of speed, too gutless to face another man. This is typical of thai men, no gutts unless they are beating on a female or in a pack, they simply cannot accept loosing face or being wrong, my wife now says I must watch my back as this idiot may pay someone to do something to me for making him loose face while threatening a women(in front of his GF) or have someone beat up on here and her daughter/mum, real men hey. They do it because it makes them feel like a big man and to show people how tough they are, have to feel sorry for the thai wives/GF's of these <deleted>.
If it makes you feel any better, I have received informal death threats more than a few times in the last 18 years living here. 1 former boss was irate because a lot of the expat employees were frequenting a bar I owned and the guy is a heavy hitter. That one worried me a bit but not enough to take my toys and go home. Endless other "I can have you killed for 5,000 baht" etc.. All of it hot air, luckily. The last one I got from a farang, I just told him to take a number, gave him my home address and invited him over. He never showed. So I would not pack my bags and leave town over this incident. Do the Thai thing and just smile next time you see him.

Some of the worst scammers on Pattaya Beach (in front of Beach Rd. Soi 11) got a little payback. I have a shop right there and have seen and heard about this mob being very aggressive and constantly scamming the masses. The crowd gathered to watch this were all in sync praising the justification of this jetski fire. They were trying to fuel the craft in the water while the engine was still hot, spilled some gas and the rest is history. Hooray for our team!!!!!
No idea why the picture did not attach. Any hints from the pros?

1 in 3 is spot on in Rayong province.I don't believe that 17 million Thais are 'grossly overweight'. That would be about one in three of the population and you just don't see that. There are obese people here, but nothing compared to most western countries.
Think you might be right DD. The western diet and a larger percentage of animal based foods is going to catch up with Thais eventually. The growing middle class is evident to me by the number of absolutely huge kids that you see now a days. Don't remember seeing so many obese kids 20 years ago, especially in urban areas. KFC, Chesters Grill and McDonalds can't be helping. Video games and the misconception of dairy products being "good for you" are also to blame.

Seems quite short sighted considering they've announced no transport infrastructure in place to connect people for transfers between the airports. As if Bangkok needs another million passengers on the road each year clogging up the roads doing a Suvarnabhumi -> Don Mueang transfer! They desperately need a rail link. Is such a thing even possible though?
Sure. Absolutely they have a rail link between the Don and downtown....oh wait....that's right, they started it and built all the concrete platforms and structure and then decided to stop since Swampy was to be the main airport. Decided that the billions of baht already spent should be wasted since Swampy was the real deal. Hmmmm, I wonder what kind of shape all that concrete infrastructure is in?
Might want to check the history on the Hopewell Project. It was done way, way before the move to Swampy. The "new" airport had nothing to do with the stopping of Hopewell.
Looking forward to being able to fly internationally and domestically from DMK again.

I can see the TAT spin on this coming. It was one of those pink taxis that don't like to turn the meter on. Tourism seen to be increasing due to less Pink Taxi Scams in Bangkok.
I hope it was a pink taxi.
