I have an account at Bangkok Bank with about 300k sitting in it. Im currently in USA and I want to transfer this money to my account here. Is this possible while outside of Thailand?
-
So do all of these usa based banks that have branches in SEA communicate with the IRS about your account balance? Bangkok Bank doesnt do this but Im looking for an account in SIN/HK that would be similar. And not having internet access to the account is a joke.

They are pretty expensive to rent. When I was on Samui I stopped into the shop to check prices and I think they wanted 4,000+ per day! What a ripoff
-
Just get it in writing from the seller (bank im assuming) that you will not purchase until he is kicked out.

Id rather have a 58 sqm 2 bedroom then a studio, wouldnt you?
They are building some nice new swimming pools with the new phase as well. The only thing Im worried about is the area. Since its across the river Im not sure what is in the general area as far as restaurants/pubs/grocery/etc.
Im also not sure how close the bts station will be. They say 5 mins walk but it looks like it may be a little further. Some things to think about. Cant beat the price though

2 million buys you a brand new 2 bedroom condo at "Metro park Sathorn"
Its across the river but there will be a BTS station within 5 mins walk in about a year. Its a little further but once the BTS is up it will be fine. Id much rather live there then in a studio for the same price

Well Guru has the backing of the Bangkok Post so Im sure they will be around for quite a while.
Im really quite surprised that Farang magazine didnt last. In their for sale ad they mentioned that they are moving on to different projects. Does this mean that the business was not successful or just that they really want to move onto other projects?

Who cares if its legal or illegal? The police and immigration officials are obviously paid off on these visa run trips.
Herbert knows what he is doing and that is why I go with him. Hes not out to make a buck and scam you like most of the other visa run companies. He took me aside and explained to me a way I could organize my visa so I could take less visa runs (which in turn means less cash in his pocket) but he did it because he genuinely cares about helping out fellow farang.
Before going with herbert I used a thai visa run service that went to Ranong and I was never so scared in my life. These Thai drivers would have the peddle to the metal while you were driving around mountain sides on 1 lane roads.
When we go with herbert everything is fast. We are in and out of immigration in 10 mins
-
They are up for sale for 4 million baht
-
There are several options for visa runs and the people who use Herberts service regularly are the people who want FAST visa runs. I was a repeat customer every 3 months while I live in Samui because I knew it was fast and cheap. There is no reason you cant piss before you get on the van, and if you cant hold your piss for 4 hours then you have bigger problems.
He is certainly not the safest driver -- and neither is his thai counterpart, but I always appreciated the time saved and we never had any close call, accidents, etc, in the 5-6 times I went with him

Cant go wrong buying your gold from the little window in Tesco Lotus
-
Just seems strange that they are both the same size and in the same building but one owner is charging 50% extra because he threw some 'feng sui" decorations in there

I never understand why people dont post full details about the property. If you are interested in trying to rent it out maybe you could spend more then 30 seconds on your listing and provide more details.
How many bedroom?
How many bathrooms?
Where exactly is the property located?
What is the price?
What are these 'attractive terms'?

Your current renters are paying 60k a month but your asking 90k to rent it?
-
I think Sathorn is one of the nicer areas

Im looking for a 2 bedroom condo within a 5 min walk to a bts station.
I prefer silom/sathorn over sukemvit but would live there as well. I previously lived on Rachadamri/lang suan and loved the area.
Im looking to spend under 20,000 baht.
Please let me know if you have something available.

Are there any thai style korean bbq's within the downtown (or not too far ) area?
-
Ive never paid that but I guess its possible that they recently started charging. But im pretty sure he knew you wouldnt put up a fight for an extra 20 baht so he made up the fee
-
Has anyone purchased a condo in Metro Park Sathorn or have you seen the project/area?
The price is pretty nice. Cant beat a 2 bedroom condo for 2 million baht. Might be a pain to get to until the BTS extension is complete but that (hopefully) will be done within another year.
What is the general area like? What about the project itself?

Does anybody know what it might cost to ship a very small box (a few dvds) to the USA from Bangkok?
Id like them fairly quickly (within a week) but Id rather not pay a huge fee. I checked the Fedex website and they quoted nearly 2000 baht for 2 day shipping. How much might EMS be and is it reliable?

nobody has any experience sending money while outside of Thailand?
-
So I have an account with Bangkok Bank in Koh Samui and I wish to transfer 300k baht or so to my bank here in USA. How can I go about doing this without being in Thailand?
-
Good details. I will try and get in contact with this place.

Do you know any of the specifics on manufacered cd's?
I see all these fake cds for sale all over the streets and some of them have nice printings on them so it must be a technology that is available. Is it possible to get an inkjet printed cd that looks like a standard store bought cd? There are no smears or fades or obvious printing lines on them?
Can you tell me more about the boxes. What kind of craft shops in Bangkok? Ive never seen one.

Bandara Resort & Spa (across from Family Mart in Bophut) 500 baht for buffet breakfast and it really is a great breakfast.
They have the usual breakfast foods, omelet bar, fruits, cheese and meat plates, etc. Definetly the best breakfast I have found (for the price) in Koh Samui.
