Entrance fee, food price inside and is it good fun?!

The Redtail & Siamese seem a bit expensive but not bad overall

Just had a quote from a different company in Ban Pong of 3,500 for a 10kg red tail

Just got a quote from fish village ban pong if anybody is still interested.

10 kg redtail 6,500.

20 kg Mekong 2,000.

10kg Siamese carp 3,500.

4kg Julian's carp 500.

5kg araipima 1,500. 30kg 18,000.

10kg sting ray 7,500.

10kg Asian redtail 3,500.

2kg snake head 1,200.

10kg alligator gar 4,500.

Quotes for smaller fish at around 10cm in size ranged from 100 - 300 baht.

I have never baught fish in Thailand before does this sound about right?

They can also deliver for a cost depending on size of truck need.

This was for single fish so I assume a discount can be obtained for higher volumes.

Only problem would be keeping the locals out of the Lake? But sure that could be sorted with security.

I would love to build a lake but no funds or time, although hoping to go fishing in Mekong this year.

The lake is approximately 100m away from her Aunty's house. Also her Mums house is 200m and the neighbours are also family. But yes that is a concern! The first stage will be building a 2 bed bungalow and digging the lake itself along with the well. Once it has been left to mature for 1 year we will be sticking with fish. The local copper is a family friend and lives 50 metres away. Also the uncle is the Poo ya boon (excuse my spelling). We will be living in the bungalow beside the lake and have a wall/fence combo surrounding the property. I'm an ex sparky by trade (now work offshore) so will be installing cctv throughout. I hope this is enough as there will be some expensive fish in the lake! The image attached is me ( black hair green vest) with a 365 pound Mekong catfish I caught just earlier this week. The other is of me and John Wilson. I was fishing with him once again last week. Thanks Maxninja, you will be first on the list for a free days fishing when it's complete! Haha. Basically my long term girlfriend has just been signed over some land from her mother. It is around 350 metres long and 24 metres wide. We are looking to purchase and in negotiations with the neighbours for a part of their land approximately 2 rai. It's is down the end of our plot and will give us the perfect area to dig a small fishing lake. I'm a keen angler having a few world record fish under my belt, but I am tired of traveling to get the big fish and am looking to build a nice little resort mainly geared at expats and looking after the grounds. Trouble is I am not very clued up on fishery management!

Does anybody know of a lake design company. I'm in the early stages of building a small resort/restaurant and fishing park in Khon Kaen. I already have builders, excavators and lawyers. Number 1 bar in Khon Kaen sell very good, Cumberland, Lincolnshire and premium pork sausages. They are 180 baht for a 6 pack (500g). They purchase them from an English run factory in BKK who have the ingredients (except the pork) sent from England. They supply many bars/restaurants in Khon Kaen. Can anybody recommend a windscreen repair garage in or around Khon Kaen? It's a stone chip approximately 30mm x 30mm in size on a Toyota Vios. Also what should I expect the repair to cost?

Lots of my friends are going to Mantra on beach road.It's meant to be really good and is #7 of 693 Pattaya restaurants on Trip advisor.

I would say anytime after 10 am to would be a good time to cross the border and return. Earlier than that you may find it busy.

What is the quietest time to do a visa run at Nong Khai.

We will be in Nong Khai from the 27th (tomorrow) at 5pm until the 29th approximately 1pm. It is a multiple entry tourist visa that needs to be stamped for a further 60 days stay. Thanks in advance

I have just booked Christmas at Castle Howchow beach resort hotel in Kranuan.70km north east of Khon Kaen.

4,300 baht per couple including room, breakfast and dinner for two nights. Some really good reviews on trip advisor. Live music, karaoke and a huge swimming pool.

I am moving to Khon Kaen around October time and will be staying in Ban Salom near Phra Yuen.

Can anybody recommend a Muay Thai and a weight lifting gym near by? Preferably within 20km but I don't mind traveling further if I need to.

Also can anybody recommend a car hire company in Khon Kaen city or near Phra Yuen? I will be looking to rent a car for around 4 months.

I don't turn 25 until the end of December and according to the airport website I cant hire a car as a 24 year old.
