It's due to neglect - most Thai parents give a toss and have their kids just live alongside like a cat or dog, best if they can drop them at school early and pick them up late so they're out of the way. Great if they go somewhere to a lake, waterfall or river in the afternoon with thier friends, providing some free extra quality time to mom and dad to watch some braindead Thai soaps on the telly while gulping down some Lao Khao mixed with red or green Fanta.

Same goes for aunts, uncles and grandparents who have to bring up the small ones because mom has been impregnated by a useless 15 year old drug addicted punk (who did not and will not achieve anything ever in life despite a wheelie on his pimped-up Honda Click) who fled to another province as soon as the belly showed and mom ended up in some girlie bar in the south...

Let's face it - the majority of Thai parents care just about themselves, kids are a necessary burden because later, as adults, they will provide for their card playing, gambling, alcohol addicted parents who never gave them a hug, or kiss, letting alone teaching them empathy or other human values.

You seem very angry. The majority of Thai parents I know sacrifice a lot to provide for their kids

    I agree

The fact is its on average that around 3000 children and majority under 12 years old.

Look at the stats throughout south east Asia and you will find similar stats.

A headline of 400 odd is a throw away number to highlight a problem for part of the year.

Authorities need to have a solution if they intend to soap box spuke in part.

You definately need to take a chill pill and try and be a concerned human being

    Its really not that hard

I haven't seen a comment about the number in total of Kids alone that die each year due to drowning and many within metres of where they live near a local creek or water way.

  3. Hi,

    this is my storie :

I'm arrived in thailand in april 2014 with the 30 days exempt visa, and after apply for the student visa in laos where i get it. Normally i have to extend this visa at immigration but one mistake happen with my visa because my school don't ask me (and i also don't know i have to give her this copy) for the photocopy of my passport with the ED visa after back from laos and for extend this visa 3 month later. They normally give me some document for do it.. so that mean i loose my ED visa and now im in cambodia and back tomorow for 30 days exmpt visa. Tomrow my school will process for a new document for do ED visa in 30 days when i have to go out of the countri.

    That is my question :

What is about the new rules for get student visa (requierements, etc..) ?

For apply the student visa still be 2 working days for get it in laos ?

Where is the place more easier for get ED visa ?

    Please help me wai2.gif

    Thank you in advance.

    Mate,

what are you teaching in regards to ED Visa??

    I hope its not english???

  4. Thanks for the advice from everyone.

The reason I have of sticking with this Landy is that all the panels have been spayed reinstalled defender diffs, replaced engine with 2.0L TDi from the disco and its a vehicle I am not likely to sell.

Now knowing there are many other Landy's in Thailand I would be happy to buy another one as well if I can get hold of an open back LWB.

Can I get the details from Somtamnication, Where would I find them.

    Cheers

  5. Hi all my first posting,

I know there is a restriction and guidelines in importing vehicles to protect the car manufacturing industry in Thailand however I have an unfinished project back in Aust and would like to bring it to Thailand to complete it and eventually get it on the road for use doing overland weekend trips.

Can anyone tell me if this is possible and if so I need advise on how to go about it.The vehicle is fully dismantled

    Thanks
