Not always the case... second for me was no impact, except the sore arm again. A pal did have a feverish/ flu like night after his second Pfizer.
Sorry to say that I am among the many who have had a strong reaction to 2nd shot of Pfizer. I was fine on that day (Sep 15); but the next morning I awoke very slowly, and had a hard time getting out of bed. I checked my temp later, and it was 101 degrees. I remained very tired and feverish all day; and had a bit of a runny nose, as well. I popped a Tylenol 8-Hour pill at about 4 PM. The fever dropped 1 degree. I was feeling a bit better when I went to bed early, at about 9PM. I took another Tylenol 8-Hour at midnight. I slept very well; and awoke this morning feeling quite normal! ... But day 2 was a bit scary. I didn't know what was happening, or how long it would last.

I got my first shot of Pfizer vax at Central Festival on August 25th. Having lived in Thailand for the last 15 years, I have learned that nothing promised here is ever certain. Rules and availability of various items change almost daily. Add to that the up and down situations with Pfizer and Moderna vaccines at BHP, and I have been concerned since that first shot about the availability of Pfizer vax for my second shot, scheduled on the 15th. I will remain concerned until it's injected! ... That said, I have to ask the OP if the friend he mentioned was trying to get his FIRST or SECOND shot. That's an important point. I would HOPE that they reserved enough Pfizer to ensure that there would be enough to provide a second dose for those who got one, and were given an appointment slip for the second. ... BUT - TIT!

Looks like a good tip to save. Thanks, jacko45k.

It should help you "jump the line", if there is one outside. You should be able to show your appointment time on your phone, and walk in to get the next ticket issued. (I say "should" because ... well ... TIT!)

They cannot afford to pay fees, because, as pointed out by i84teen pointed out, their audience has nearly disappeared due to their blatant socialist bias and fake news. Most airports have dropped their exclusive rights; and they are losing advertising income.

I live just a km off of the east end of Nern Plub Warn. So far today, (it's 1 PM now) we've had no interruption of our water service here. Perhaps they're doing this in small sections? I was prepared for the irritating inconvenience; but I'm very happy that it hasn't happened SO FAR. Keeping my fingers crossed!

Kerry, Is this still going to happen tomorrow?

Euro Optic on 2nd Rd, opposite the rear entrance to Mike's Shopping Mall. I'm not sure if she does contact lenses; but she made 3 sets of bifocals for me. Reasonable pricing. Filipina doctor.

Thailand figures on COVID put Thailand at #98 of 228 countries in the world.
Thailand: 88,907 Cases (.001% of 70 mil population!) 486 Deaths (7 per mil of population!)
Is that worth the panic shutdown they're imposing?
US is #1 in cases 10% of pop (much more testing!); .002% of pop death (vax in action!)
UK is #7 in cases 6.5% of pop (much more testing); .002% of pop death (vax in action!)
People are panicking, and allowing their economies to be destroyed, far beyond what is justified by the level of "death threat" presented by this very contagious FLU!

Wrong numbers... it seems to be killing 2% on a worldwide basis. If you want credibility, get your numbers right. Minimizing this epidemic with incorrect ones does no good.
You've got your decimal places wrong! As of May 13: 161,080,616 Cases - 3,345,018 Deaths. That's .02%. (or two tenths of one percent) NOT 2%. Source: https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/

I am from Michigan. Detroit was once the wealthiest city in the USA on a per capita income basis. The high wages of the auto workers pushed up the average wage in Detroit to the highest in the USA. Now, homes for as little as $500 can be had there.
It is relatively easy to institute practices that kills a region but as shown in Detroit, very hard to revive the patient once you have rendered it on life support.Especially so when ignorant people continue to elect people from the same destructive political party that created and continues the same policies that led to the decay of the cities!

Agreed pattaya is finished, but i would think resurrected as something else.Life as it was pre 2019 is not coming back no matter how much you wish it.A precedent has been set for future viruses....masks,social distancing, vaccines and lockdowns. No matter how many vaccines you have there will always be another mutant, another strain."do not let a good opportunity go to waste"...so the saying goes and big pharma can see a lot of future money to be made.
That saying also, and originally, belongs to communists. It's straight from Alinsky's "Rules for Radicals". The CCP is loving this!

It doesn't take much these days with technology to create fear, TV, media and some ugly looking dudes in suits who are in powerful positions, also wearing a mask, and having been vaccinated.
The light at the end of the tunnel are vaccines, and for those who take them, you will be rewarded and get your vaccine passports to travel and life will be back to normal.
We can then live happily ever after.
The CCP will be doing everything in its power to prevent that fear from subsiding!

If this has been posted previously, I'm sure that a mod will either remove or move it to another thread. I thought it would be useful to those who are about to go to the Jomtien IO for any reason, and are not aware of it.
I went to the IO this morning to submit my application for the 1-year extension to my Retirement Visa. When I walked in the gate, I was surprised to see a "snake line" of about 100 folks waiting to get in. Posted signs explained that a new process requires that people wait in line to be allowed into the building and receive the usual ticket for the desired service. They allow about 10 people at a time to enter, and form a new line for tickets. It took about 20 minutes for me to get into the building; and about another 40 minutes to complete the application process, and get my claim ticket to pick up my passport after 2 PM tomorrow.
The good news is that you can avoid that 20 minute wait outside by using the "QueQ" application; which you can download for free from Google Play Store (or other app service). I did that this afternoon. It's easy to use. The caveat is that, like most "big brother" apps today, it will give "someone" access to much of your personal data, as well as your location whenever it's used. (You know, as predicted in "1984!" ... I'm an old man, living a world that I really won't be sorry to leave!)

This is my attitude, with a couple of caveats. I have no intention of getting any vaccine until/unless it becomes very inconvenient to be without it; meaning that I can't get access to places I need or want to enter without a "vaccine card", most especially, of course, the Immigration Office! Secondly, if I do choose to get vaccinated, I will definitely choose either Pfizer or Moderna, as they have the highest rates of effectivity. There is NO WAY I will have anything from the CCP put into my body!

Lockdown on 7-11s from 2200 to 0500, leaving them OPEN ALL DAY LONG is in contention for the most ridiculous order of the whole lockdown fiasco!

It was a burst main pipe; but I did not get a location. My service went out at about 4 PM on Thursday. Just returned, with a light flow, at about 10:00 this morning. The pressure has been improving slowly since then.

I have to travel from Pattaya into one of the YELLOW ZONES on Sunday to take my wife for a hospital appointment in BKK on Monday. I'll return to Pattaya on Tuesday.
Does anybody have specific details on what "high surveillance" will mean for me? Just checkpoints with "temperature checks"; or something more extensive?

I truly believe that it is safe to say that the world will never be the same again in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. Big business and the mega rich will survive. But medium sized and small businesses, which account for most of the employment in the world, will shrivel to something less than 60% of their pre-COVID levels. As a result; the number of poor and homeless will greatly increase; as will drug abuse, crime, and suicide. At least the next several decades will be as dark a period as humanity has seen in centuries.

My (Thai) niece got in touch with the local water office. Their "answer" was that "There was a big break in the water line, which will be fixed sometime this evening." Naturally, no details on where or how the break occurred. I suspect that it was an occurrence of a frequent situation mentioned by someone in the forum a couple of days ago. Some worker was digging for some other reason, with no knowledge or guidance as to the location of underground pipes, and broke the water line! ... Is anything EVER done properly in this country?
Anyone had the second Pfizer jab at Central Festival?

The line for my 2nd shot (Sep 15) was very long; but it moved much faster than the line for the 1st shot. I arrived at the 6th floor at about 9:30; and got to the vaccine area at about 10:30. After the jab, I went to the waiting area. There is a sign posted saying that the certificate may take some time, and advising those who don't want to wait that they can go to the Registration area in BHP to apply for the certificate. (No idea how long that would take!) I waited. It took about an hour for my certificate to arrive. So my total time there there was about 2 hours. That was about 30 minutes less that I was there for my first shot.
