  1. The closest thing to Mexican food Is Miguel's. It is California/ Baja/Tijuana style. I know because I AM MIGUEL. Can't get proper ingredients to do it 100%.

Plus all the cheapskates in Chaing Mai you really have to watch your prices.

They think 150baht is expensive. But they spend 1000baht a head at Dukes! Go figure.

  2. Chiang Mai is fantastic for a visit! I lived there 12 years. I'm backi n my home country. For me it is cheaper and more convenient home paid, free medical etc.

And I don't have to complain about the price of farang items!!

The women of Thailand thing got real old real fast.

Now they're fatter and I am older. Some guys go on for years chasing them

  3. Thailand is not Pattaya, or BK, or Hua Hin, or Chiang Mai, or Phuket, or other places with some of those "problems"...

My Thailand is very peaceful, safe, and pleasant...plus cheaper that the other Thailands above..

In my Thailand, I can rent a wonderful small home by a lake for less than $200/month..and have a luxury "buffet" in special occasions.

In my Thailand, I can be surrounded by happy and helpful local people, and very friendly and talkative, even if I do not speak the language...and feel part of the community sharing temples and families events.

In my Thailand, any immigration needs may took me about 15 minutes.... but may takes 30 because I like to chat with the staff and get a free coffee seating comfortably on room with AC to watch the movement..and bumping with a farang friend sometimes.

In my Thailand I found respect and appreciation.

In my Thailand, I can walk with my 25 years younger beautiful Thai wife without somebody thinking that she is a hooker...or I am a millionaire, and I not feeling bad because she is the one with more income than myself, and the employed one.

In my Thailand, I can feel good living with a small retirement at 70, and do nothing to make my living, just relaxing and getting out of trouble... Well...fishing every day from my garden and inventing new cooking.

In my Thailand...finally...I found peace and happiness in my last years... but I understand.... my Thailand may be not the one you were looking at.

    Where do you live Cambodia?

Your wife is not a hooker. She's a goldigger!

Some people who have had little or limited exposure to real life would probably feel the same as you.

  4. Where women are treated like total objects. They do all the work. Thai men are worthless. They are treated as sex objects. How could any self respecting woman from the west face this daily.

Let's face it for every 50 horn dogs that come to Thailand there are VERY few women that come to Thailand. Maybe it's because they objectify and treat women like shit! Which brings me to you guys.....

It's the tiny asses and cutes smiles that the girls flash while on the way to the

ATM with you guys. And, by the way, those asses aren't so small anymore!

But my all time FAVORITE IS.....

the guys who runs out on his previous life and family gets married and starts an entirely New life and family in Thailand just because he's had sex two days straight. Alot of people on this blog can relate to this.

    Just sayin......

  5. Ridiculous visa runs and checks every 90 days

    Maniacal drivers with death wishes

Chinese tourists for a bunch of reasons

Black smoke billowing out of MANY vehicles

Songtaews and tuk tuks for a hundred reasons

    Paying " farang" prices

Did I mention the garlic wreaking money hungry Thai women ( and the hookers are worse )

Having to whisper when discussing the ROYAL FAMILY

    Censors and the junta shit

The ransom prices of western food

    The slowness of the Internet

A country with at least 5 genders

The wonderment of the burning season

Paying overvalued amounts for ALL vehicles both new and used

Ordering 5 things in a restaurant and arriving 5 different times

One should never live in a country where you can't drink the tap water

The lack of English spoken and the lack of desire to learn

    xenophobic, status conscience, selfish population

    Loudspeaker trucks

Hot than hell MOST of the time

Shopping malls where most Thai people can't afford to buy anything

Having to support a family that EXPECTS me to do it

Corrupt police ( all of them )

    And my personal favorite.......SAVING FACE
