  1. I went to see Loso play at Hillary Bar II on the 2nd Feb, it was really awesome! I think everyone who was there had a bangin night!

Does anyone know of anymore gigs he may be playing in the next 2 weeks? Would love to see him play again before I go back to Europe!!

    Any news, let me know......

Think about why you want to buy this business, do you have an income, do you need to work to support yourself in Thailand?

Do you intend to treat this as a 'Hands on' business? If so, will the business support a work permit?

Do you know the area?, Do you think you can live there? Are you prepared to put in long hours?

How long, in total, have you spent in Thailand?

Do you fall into the category of first-timer to Thailand, in love with the country and/or girl and suddenly want to throw up your life in your own country to move here?

If so, don't rush into anything. Take your time.

Buy a business as a side venture/hobby/retirement project/something for missus to do.

    Don't know about work permit

Been to the area twice, did like it.

In total I would say i have spent a year in Thailand over the last 3 years. don't quite know if that places me in the class of a first timer??

  3. Ain't there fault that they smirk, they can't help it.

When I meet a guy who tells me that he is married to a farang woman I can't help a smirk coming on my face, sometimes even a little snigger under my breath. :o

    *edited due to language*

I must say that it's the same for me! I'm 26, my Thai gf is 29. Hopefully marry her next year. But i do have a sly chuckle to myself after my work mates have taken the piss about my thaibride and i think about the hippocrocafrog their going home too!!

  4. Hi all

I'v heard all the great things about living in Thailand but I really want to know the WORST thing about living there? and how you cope or deal with it?  :D

Be honest it can't all be happy days :o

I live in bangkok, so noise can be a slight irritant.

    For example:

At 11pm each evening, the neighbors housekeeper (who camp out under my bathroom window) begins cooking by chopping on some meat with a cleaver, This chopping shakes her entire kitchen setup, causing all the pots, pans and dishes to crash around. Sounds like a construction project eminating from by bathroom.

This only goes on fro 20 minutes or so. Not too bad.

What's bad is her deaf sister decided to raise 6 cats and they generally hang around my windows from midnite till 4 or 5am and have cats fights every hour.Somehow I can sleep a bit untill my neighbors that live upstairs stumble in at 4:30am (they own a bar).

They usually yell and scream and throw things for an hour or so untill they pass out. Sometimes they bring the whole bar home and have parties by the poolside at 5am.

About 6:00, they go home to sleep.

At 6:15 the nice Vietnamese lady next door brings out her Poodle. She love to smile and watch it bark at the cats.

6:30am., the school mini vans arrive and park under my window and let their diesel engines idle and fill my apt with fumes.

At 7:00, the people 2 doors down let their 5 small dogs out and they bark nonstop for 30 minutes or so.

8:00, the construction crew starts driving piles with a huge gas powered compressor.

Around 9am the fruit vendor arrives with the loudest speaker system. We can hear him coming and going for 45 minutes.

About 10 oclock it gets pretty hot and time to fire up the air con. I usually have to look outside because it sounds like a small aircraft landed on my porch.

Except for the construction, it usually is peacefull unless the maintence man is jackhammering somthing.

3pm, the neighbors kids come back from school and the nannys bring them out to play. I guess Thai nannys are not allowed to discipline or teach them about being polite. They are cute though.

Did I mention the pool pump?

This runs for 19 hours everyday and sounds like it's gonna implode at any minute.

Other than the noise, it's paradise.

You are a a very tolerant man!! I'd of killed someone by now, planted land mines, cut the electric and put copius amounts of poison in the cats food supply. Whilst looking for a new apartment of course!!!

  5. I think there are more of them bastards out there. To pop the cork on the champaing bottle to celebrate is a bit early.

All they did was slap the mosquito on the neck. There are thousands more out there looking for opportunities to strike.

Whether it is in the UK, Iraq, Isreal, or the South of Thailand, it's not over yet. It's just a hollow victory of one battle and not the entire war on terrorism.

Now don't go thinking i'm a nutter here, but take a look on catholic planet dot com and read the prophecies of St Malachai read what he has to say and then check out good old Nostradamus. It's very interesting considering that it's over 800 years old!!

Like Richard says, it could be just one hollow victory and it is definatley not over yet.

Just like to agree with comments on Blair, he is a ****** and it wouldn't surprise me if it was a set up job. Dunno whether to hate him for making me work ridiculous hours in my blue uniform or love him for the amount of O/T i'm earning doin sweet FA!!!!

  6. Hi all,

Just wondering what life is like in the sunny village of Chiang Mai? Thinking about moving up there, seen a business etc can you advise on the high's, the low's, the potential pit falls etc etc..........

  7. I gather that these are old movies (as in not released in the last couple of months) but I just discovered two great movies, Ong Bak and the Bodyguard. I'm a big fan already!!

Does anyone know of anyother movies in this genre or by the same producers/cast etc etc

  8. Hi all,

Just wondering who has had any experience or know's the procedure for divorcing in Thailand? I'm not getting divorced myself, I have a friend whose Thai wife wishes to divorce him. She's in LOS and he's in sunny UK, feeling depressed about it!

What's it likely to cost, does he have to be in LOS, can it be granted even if he doesn't consent to it etc etc

If you could let us know I'll pass it on.......

    Thanks

  9. Hi all,

Recently I read that Loso had teamed up with an ex-member of Oasis and produced a pharang album. Like a stupid person I have forgotten the name of it!!

Oh and do you know if it is for sale internationally or only in LOS?

    Cheers.........
