She will say that you promised her to pay for her services and threatened her, if she doesn't pay the money back;
Police will love that story.
What for a service that is deemed illegal?

how much is the loan...and have you slept with her..
The money was paid back and yes I was sleeping with her, but she was motivated to go to the police as I feel she was not happy paying the money back.
I felt I had every right to go to her condo after polite emails were ignored.
I do not know if she filed an incident report ( she would not send paperwork so I believe not).
But was not nice being threatened with photos of her outside police station etc.

I know this is in the wrong category but not sure where to post it.
I was seeing a girl and helping her out here in Bangkok ( I know I am stupid so no need to comment that I am).
Mid Jan I decided I wanted some of the money I loaned her back as she was playing games.
I went to her condo where she turned aggressive, as I had the audacity to ask for my money back.
An angry encounter followed ( all verbal) and she paid said money back into my bank.
Hours later I started to receive abusive emails and photos of the lady in question outside a local police station, also photos of me inside her condo building from cctv in her building.
She was claiming to have made a report that stopped me going back to her condo, ( as in a police incident form) and not pressed charges.
I asked her for the paperwork to be emailed so I could have it translated and all I could was verbal abuse back and no proof she had made the report.
A friend told me, if she has not made a report then I should do so first, with bank statement showing money exchanged and the abusive emails and 100's of missed calls to me.
He claims if I make the report then it helps me if in the future she decides to go off the deep end again.
Real advice would be most welcome.

I've heard it's possible to report an incident to the Police without them pressing charges.
Also told that it acts as a way of protecting yourself against said person making a false claim.
Is this true or anyone have any more details.

They are not all closed, massage shops in Soi 24/1 have shutters half way down and girls are calling guys in.
A load of bars open on Soi 11.
This place is so corrupt money talks so if massage shops want to stay open they will.

Just arr at Suvarnabumi airport this afternoon and had to wait just 4 mins at Passport. Lots of staff and short queues for Thais and foreigners. Excellent service!
Finger print scanners still working?
-
I am heading off to Vietnam for a few days from Bangkok and returning back xmas eve to swampy.
A couple of years ago I was allowed to use the same lane as my Thai wife as it was busy.
Now that fingerprint scanners have been installed for " all foreigners" will they still allow a non Thai to go through with their Thai spouse?
Don't fancy the long ques on Christmas Eve at 2 pm in the afternoon.
Thanks

Small stamp, same size as entry/exit stamp for Thailand. Takes-up about 1/3 of PP page.
So no visa just turn up?

Jim- My son and I went to vietnam , and yes you need a visa. Go to the vietnam emmbassy website, you can download a form which you have to fill out and email back. once you get the ok, you bring it with you when you land and go to immigration. Also the visa is a fullpage stick on-
I heard the British passport holders only need a stamp and no visa, or does this not apply if you live abroad?
Until 30 June 2021, ‘British Citizen’ passport holders travelling for tourism or business can enter Vietnam for up to a maximum of 15 days (inclusive of dates of entry and exit) without a visa. If you have a different type of British nationality – for example ‘British national (overseas)’ you’ll need to get a visa before entering Vietnam.

British passport holder here.
Do I need a visa to travel from Bangkok to Hanoi in Vietnam?
I am also on a retirement visa here in Thailand and I am going for a few days holiday, also does anyone know how big the visa is ( full page) as I am running out of pages in my passport.
Thanks in advance

Under Thai Law agreements between husband and wife whether written or verbal can be cancelled by either party at any time and are therefore unenforceable.
You mean a loan agreement?

Let me be the one to put you at ease from legal point of you.
even if you had written agreement of a loan but fell behind in repaying , police would not get involved as long as you have been making payments.
if you were to go to court and even
though you have not paid off but were paying , court would not lock you up.
so you not having anything written leaves you scot free to do whatever you like.
so from the pint of threats , it’s all empty threats.
Personally, I would relocate to another town and cut all communications , get a lawyer and let lawyer handle all divorce proceedings and dealing with her. May not be cheap but a lot less stressful.
In regards to money owed, if you feel like paying it back , you can but do not legally have too. Alternatively you can make her an offer through a lawyer , something like full amount over a year period but if she wants all now , then you will only pay half and matter finished
Thank you

Been married to my Thai wife for 6 years, she has her own land house etc ( I don't want anything)
She has decided I am not rich enough for her and is looking to divorce me, I had a serious illness a few years ago which she loaned ( paid for) my treatment.
She is now claiming she wants it back in 7 days and I have offered to pay her back over 1 year.
She is getting shirty and saying she will go to the Police etc etc, what are my rights concerning this loan ( nothing in writing only verbal) and the fact I paid 6 years worth of bills and condo rental I don't like her attitude.
Like I said I fully intend paying back the money she paid for my treatment but don't need the pressure.
Is a loan from a spouse a Police matter or Civil?
-
It's money that goes into a PayPal account then into my Thai bank account, I guess this is a no go?

I am thinking of applying for a Non O extension married to a Thai, I don't have the 400,000 k in the bank but since Sept of last year have a steady income of 60k going into my Thai bank every month, as the embassy now no longer issues letters what is the deal with proving where it comes from?
-
Is the Phu Nam Ron border checkpoint open without any problems?Due to take a mate on Sunday who has a multiple enter Non O issued at Savankhet.
Tried to call the guy who does it at the crossing for the last couple of days and straight to voicemail.
Cheers

Why wouod I fly back to England to get a passport? When I live in Thailand dohIf this happened to me, this is what I would do. Get the police report, file the lost/stolen passport as advised earlier and get the ETD. Make an appointment for a same-day passport replacement in the UK (don't pick a busy passport office like London - you'll be there all day. The Durham passport office is good). Then fly to the UK, surrender the hopelessly limited ETD on arrival, get a proper, 10-year passport, then the required Thai visa before returning to Thailand and doing the formal 1-year extension rigmarole.
PS. Make damn sure it doesn't get lifted again.

I know that, the question was if she files a police report I am done, I was advised by someone said I should do that myself,so if in future I have some comeback by making a report first (not press charges just report it)
