The Constitutional Court does not concern itself with matters related to the constitution. That became clear when said court decided not to rule on premier Prayuth and his ministers not making the oath of loyalty to uphold the constitution as dictated by the constitution. So of course the court had to put army rules and regulations as the most important factor on this case.

If this latest fella is not a prime example, previous chiefs, coming out with sayings like "there will not be a coup" certainly are !
And when all fails: say it was a misunderstanding...

A fine doctor but I fear that his words are falling on deaf ears. And he can't fix that. Meanwhile the common folk will endure more abuse and violence from the government.

The dinosaurs don't want a proper talk, a small whisper from the corner of the table is all they can tolerate... This panel with strong bias towards those who took the power from the people ain't gonna fix much. And that's intentional I say.

What a silly sod he is indeed, as are those other minions who try so hard to deny the Thai people proper democratic input. No way the powers that be will support a plan like that of I-iLaw, can't have commoners interfering with the elite...

Delay, postpone, cancel. Those who grabbed power will not let go. I don't expect this to go anywhere unless the Thai people stand up and tell the former NCPO and Senat to b*gger off.

Mark is a rather sad figure, he didn't do much good through his career if you ask me. This whole dino gathering to talk with more dinos, which is just delaying the 'he'll no, we stole power and ain't gonna give it up' from the senators and former NCPO . Waste of time. And mean while the people suffer the consequences of elites holding on to power.

Nepotism? In this regime of very honest, honourable and kind ministers? Impossible!
What are her qualifications? (and why marry an old fart like him?) I hope they won't use the office to sell baking powder.

Mmm, fixing the price of a commodity, didn't Yingluck do something similar and get in all sorts of trouble...
This not very democratic government is kinda self destructive. But let's see which standards will be applied here (same or double).

This regime and 'independent organisations' arw a bad bad joke. Not exactly serving the people. No surprise really but sad nonetheless.

My opinion isn't an option in the poll. I would basically delete/block any content that is an outright call to serious violence, death etc. And include a warning on content that's objectively wrong (perhaps include a link to were people can find facts, though one may wonder if somebody who thinks the earth is flat would accept a link to a scientific site -and which one to link to?-). Outright banning or blocking 'troubled' information gives companies or governments with dubious goals ways to attack those who seek to weaken said company or government... I for one don't entirely trust the current Thai regime to label what is and what isn't 'false news'.

Is there a comprehensive list of what the Army owns? It would be an interesting read....
I am not aware of any complete overview, they aren't exactly a fan of transparency... All I came across was mentionings here and there in newspapers or the political arena and various books on Thai politics/history/society mentioning it. My bottom line conclusions is that they know how to take good care of themselves...

"In the speech, Prayut said the country’s educational system was not bad, but it focused far too much on academics, when people should be educated about patriotism, history and loyalty."
I can see it now Academics are bad, and instead brainwashing and mind control are better.
Yes no need for schools, just re-education camps.
Clearly there is a lack of propaganda classes about patriotism, the 3 pillars and so on. Too much academic stuff in schools. More patriotism, history and loyalty. More more more more.
(How can school books go beyond 100% patriotism I wonder?)

That’s a low, low bar.
Give him a break, he is trying to be nice for once in his life! ????
I'm... intrigued by the suggestion of the pet rock. Things couldn't get worse, that's for sure.
The poor chap is clueless on what laws he broke. I could mention 2 to start with, back in 2014, which are punishable by life in prison or death. Or is he that good of an actor?

It would be nice if this would go anywhere without being dragged out or a suspended sentence and a slap on the wrist. She is not a nice woman.

Wirat also rejected protesters’ demand for PM Prayut Chan-o-cha to quit, saying he must stay on to resolve the country’s problems. He said protestors should recognise that the PM was selected by the majority of people in the country.
555 he ain't fooling anyone. Get the PM out and let the Senat stay out aswell... but that's not what the 'khon dee' had in mind when they did that coup against democracy in 2014...

Having the rather incompetent and less than democratic PM step down and BLEEP off would be a great first step if the government was sincere about finding a way out for the benefit of all. But the poor (well rich, he has millions... don't ask ) chap fails to see what he did wrong so....

So the powers that be try to keep the current... uhm..questionable government and questionable laws... the whole 'let's talk about the constitution' that P is parroting now is not believable at all. Reset to 1997 laws please. Then start amending, proper elections. Nice bonus would be to jail the coup makers..
I have a dream.

This move of the EC to prosecute Thanathorn and others of FFP right now is to willingly increase the tensions and, together with provocations caused by organized yellow thugs, to create violence. The reason is simply that the powers-that-be want a decisive battle as soon as possible. They hope to ingnite violence and real riots, to have an excuse for their desired tough crackdown. It's all a well engineered agenda of escalation what happens right now.
I guess that after this coming crackdown, and after a possible coup by the new army leader Narongphan to get to geet rid of the political deadlock, to end the demonstrations and to have a 'reset' on the whole mess, the army will give the power to some civil friends. Likely Anutin then will appointed as the next PM, possibly after a short intermezzo of Narongphan or Apirat as interim-PM.
The civil government later will be appointed in order to appease the people and the international community, and to create a "government of national unity", whose duty only will be to protect the system for another decade, before the whole cycle will start again.
I worry so too. Stack loads of ridiculous and biased rulings and arrests on top of each other. Maybe some democracy fighters will snap... gives the ex junta an excuse to come cracking down in the name of national security and unity etc etc.
I wish the democracy fighters all the luck in the world. But it's gonna be a tough fight with the double standards and other injustices that we can see every day.

Quote"Gen Prawit urges Digital Ministry to tackle fake news"
So they are gonna cut most of the nonsense, gibberish and ranting from Prayuth, Prawit and and their fellow ex NCPO friends? What a relieve.

Even before they have been put on trial, the young activists have had forced haircuts. The males got short high and tights like police officers and the girl Rung who had colored hair had it dyed a natural dark brown color and cut to a short cut just below the ears. It's sickening.
Disgraceful behaviour from the authorities. I do wonder what they do when one has a natural hair colour other than black. I heard of teachers insisting all pupils must have black hair, even if that means a kid with non black hair is then forced to dye the hair... I would fear some of these same folks run prisons. Teachers and prison guards have much in common I think.

Charter court accused of overlooking questioned raised by Pheu Thai in Prayut’s Army residence case

Army regulations state that ex militairy personnel must vacate their army housing within 180 days. However personnel who has served the army and nation exceptionally well are exempt and can stay as long as they wish as a reward. Prayuth can do no wrong, he is a true blessing for the country and thus everything is perfectly okay...
