  1. 32,000 baht per month? And you stipulate they must have a BA? What is teachers pay if they dont have a BA?

I think you may be a bit misled as to what the average ESL teacher salary is outside of Bangkok.

In Bangkok, 32,000 would be nothing at all due to the high cost of living. In the provinces (such as Phetchaburi) however, cost of living is less with regards to rent/food/etc, so 32,000 provides for quite a comfortable lifestyle. The highest paying school in town pays 35,000, for comparison. I'm a bit more timid than others, so this may not be true for everyone's lifestyle, but I have managed to save 20,000 a month since September in order to prepare for a trip back home to the USA to visit friends and family. Not bad. As someone else mentioned, if you're after a high salary, don't teach in Thailand wink.png. I hope this clears up any confusion.

EDIT: As far as teachers without BAs, we don't hire them so I'm not really sure what their pay would be. I know there are some work-arounds, but in most cases a BA is a requirement to teach ESL in Thailand.

  2. Hey all,

I'm only posting this here because the Job Offers forum does not seem very active. There are a couple teaching jobs available at my school in Phetchaburi and I'm doing my best to avoid having to use any type of agency to hire.

    See the post here

If anyone is looking for a teaching position or has a friend who is, please take a look at the post above which includes contact info.

Thanks for your time and stay classy.
