  1. They can spend as much as they want, but sadly, their behaviour is such annoying and saddening that nobody will like them. In fact, so many people I meet, hates them being in Thailand and ruining atmosphere.. The worst part is that I myself look like russian and it takes a big job to socialize with someone on night out that I even sometimes don't even try. I don't even speak russian nor do I behave like one but the physics destroys everyones mood when they see me sitting in the same bar or boat or etc. sad.png But boy, when I do say that I am not a russian the whole evening turns around and you can start enjoying socializing and nights out again . Sadly, not so many left to socialize with in Phuket, who are not russians themselves amd speak english..

  2. I used to love Bangla Road so much because of the partying atmosphere, you go along the road and hear 80's music, modern music, live music people having real fun. Aussies, Brits or Scandinavians seemed to be having the time of their lives... and now.. chinese or russians just passing by with the serious looks on their faces, not going to any bars, not enjoying anything.. are fun times over now on Bangla? My soul felt so refreshed everytime i went to bangla in 2012 with all the westerners getting out of their system. Everything started going down since 2014.. Will the party dudes be back again sometime?

  3. Most of the bars were closed yesterday or didn't sell alco on Bangla Road. Still had good time wth mango shakes and live music.

Today gonna be another round:) and hopefully those handsome aussie dudes will be more happy.

    I'm gonna rock tonight!!!

  4. You're asking a forum of expatriates about a seedy smelly part of the island that only attracts the 2 weeks package deal tourists.

Why not go down to Bangla Rd between now and Friday so you can get to the bottom of the mystery.

biggrin.pngbiggrin.pngbiggrin.pngbiggrin.png I do meet there a lot of expats by the way.. You as well should go there at least once in your lifetime since you might meet your next door neigbour. For me Bangla Road is a great place to be since it is very playful and has its own vibe. And FYI it is not only ping pong shows or go go bars..

You say people are wasting your time with these mundane replies but the time you take replying you could have easily googled some bar telephone numbers and got the answers yourself. I managed to call Aussie bar in under 1 minute to confirm they are open Friday.

I feel attention seeking was your real need here.

    Thank you smile.png

  6. The King said there was no need to shut a few years back.It isnt Law.
Very true but it's out of respect and police seem to take that seriously. It's only one night so stock up if you get the dementia tremors.

It's one of the few days of the year that nearly everyone gets off at the same time that isn't a religious holiday. It would seem a good idea to celebrate the day by having a few beers.

King is a devout Buddhist and doesn't drink.

The point of it is for people to go spend time with their families on his birthday. Why not sit around a dinner table and share a meal in a restaurant that serves alcohol if it's such an issue?

Wow I asked such exact question and most of replies just filling up my inbox with useless lifestyle sugesstions.

Well that's how you get around not having alcohol withdrawals.

Obviously you don't respect local customs which is typical of people today.

Why don't you tell us how this is such a inconvenience for you?

Where did I mention that I have inconvience??? I just asked an exact question to get someone to answer from their experience so I would be able to know whether to go to Bangla or not. The inconvience for me is that posts like your is waisting my time because I don't need asnwers from someone who clearly just sits in there aparments and don't do nightlife in Bangla. You just started to comment not even reading and understading the question. If you've read it, you would have seen that this post is clearly not for you to comment on.

  7. Your attitude isn't going to get you much help. Bye

No no, don't bye  you seem to have an answer for my question and not just posting some useless text just for post count and you are the one who goes out a lot to bangla road therefore have a really valuable information to share.

I asked about bars in Bangla Road. To stock up and stay in hotel it is not a solution and for ones it is only day a month of alcohol ban but for others it is only one day holidays here.

Does anybody know how it was last year specifically on Bangla?

Oh great.. I haven't seen this article. Your reply is much more valuable, I can now follow the news so that i'll be able to plan a great short vacation for my friend.

Maybe someone knows from there experience last year if the bars were closed or not in Bangla?

  11. Could you please tell if bars on Bangla Road will be closed or will not sell alcohol this friday? I don't know how it was before on 5th of December on previous years since I like to party on Fridays and it was not on Fridays. I have a friend visiting and wonder if any bars will be open in Bangla...
