Looking to open an office in Thailand, but need to better understand how much it will cost to hire Thai employees with basic English skills. I understand that the average salary is 25,000 baht per month, but I suspect this is for Thai's that don't speak English. Does anyone have any idea what we would need to pay Thai employees that can read, write and speak English?

Taco Bell is in the planning stage of going to Thailand. Just left the company and they quizzed me on doing business in LOSOkay, never eat at a KFC. But the same company, Yum, owns Taco Bell. And I would love to start seeing a chain of Taco Bell's pop up in every mall.
I have it on very good authority that you wont be waiting long for you Taco Bell fix.

Had an interesting ride in a taxi from Siam square. Driver was a hard core red. He showed us a gun given to him by the red shirts. Said that a lot of guns have recently come in BKK and they were waiting for orders. It was an old 45. Model 1911. Very scary incident for me, the wife and kid. I work with yellow but have a home in red country. Really like all the people, but both only watch, listen and read from media that reinforces their perceptions. Not a formula for compromise.

The USA didn't cut the money to Egypt when that elected gov't was overthrown by people fed up with corruption.

One man's terrorist/thug is another man's freedom fighter.
Who do you now favor? Red or Yellow?
Which side are/were you on in the past?
Let us all know if you are on the side of the "legitimate” government or the "people" who are rising up or had risen up against the government?
- In Caracas – happening now
- In Kiev – happening now
- In Egypt (ex-govt = muslim bro-hood vs. people)
- In USA a long time ago (Terrorist rebel colonists vs. the legitimate gov’t – King George)
- In Poland (legitimate govt = communist vs. people led by Lech Walesa)
- In China (govt vs. people/kids who were slaughtered in Tiannamen square)
- In Cambodia – happening now
I realize that the circumstances may not all fit the situation in LOS, but I'm interested in your historical perspective of “thugs” vs. “government”.
BTW – the wife and mother in law received $2,000 baht each to vote in Samut Prakan. Things are getting desperate in hardcore Redville – Samut Prakan. Village leader was at the ballot box checking votes. They were threatened if they didn’t vote. So much for “let the ballot box decide”. I am very much of free and fair elections, but what they call voting in Thailand is not what I consider following the democratic process as we westerners know.
Also, some big-shot came by yesterday and threatened them if they joined the farmers in BKK. Doesn’t really matter that much….they only read Red newspapers, listen to Red radio and Watch Red TV, so they are pretty much insulated from what the “other side” has to say.

Admiral Hornblower made a reference to videos from Mike. Can I get the link to his videos? Is it the Mike that eats the spicy food or another Mike?
