  1. Try NIKOTEL

They will give you access to a free FaxToMail Service

-You will be reachable under a regular phone number (German or UK local area code) for recieving faxes

    - All incoming faxes will be forwarded to your e-mail address

All you have to do is set up an account with NIKOTEL

Very good quality and rates for Voip Phone as well...

And for sending fax , just use the Microsoft Fax included with Windows...

  2. Has anyone tried using a Vonage phone in Thailand?

I use Vonage. It is by far the best quality VOIP out there. I pay US$25 a month for unlimited calls to the US. UK and other destinations 3 cents a minute. Unlike Skype and others, I talk on a phone and I don't even need a computer. And, the big bonus, I have a phone number in the US. When people call the number there, my phone rings here and they have no idea they're talking to some idiot in Thailand called ChiangMaiThai. No delay. Excellent sound quality. You will need ADSL of at least 150kpbs.

Also, it won't work with TSpeed as CAT would rather you didn't make cheap international calls and so blocks the ports.

Setting it up was a bitch, but now everything is good.

The problem with vonage is that you need a US shipping address and a US credit card to access the service...so not for everyone...

There's no minimum usage with NIKOTEL compared with 24.99$ with Vonage...

You can have an international virtual number for both phone & fax with Vonage(respectively 4.99 and 9.99$/month) but those services are free with NIKOTEL...

A 56 kbps connection is enough for good quality communication with Nikotel ,however more speed = better quality of course!

My conclusion is that NIKOTEL can be a lot cheaper than Vonage and accessible to more people.

  3. Try NIKOTEL :Cheap and very reliable Better quality than Skype or Callserve ...

No problem ever with credit card

China, USA, Spain, UK, Austria, France, Norway, Netherlands, Germany..:0.029USD/mn = 1,2 baht/mn

Better quality if you buy a Voip phone or headset.

Last but not least, they have a free service called NIKOFAX which gives you access to a FaxToMail service with your own Free International Fax Number in UK or Germany!

  6. I've been granted a multiple entry non-immigrant visa typeO valid from 23/6/03 until 22/6/04 and i've done the visa-runs every 90 days as requested. Last one in Singapore and reentry in Thailand on 29/3 , got a new stamp with another 90 days "admitted from 29/3 until 26/6/04; my question is :can i stay in Thailand until 26/6 as written on the stamp or do i have to consider the date of expiry of my visa :22/6?

    Thank you

  7. I ckecked my visa and it's only written "M"for N° of entry

Do I need to ask for a re-entry permit if I cross a border

If yes ,is it at the immigration bureau?

One last thing : under the label remarks ,the "Extension of stay not permitted" has been striped ...Doesn't it mean that I could stay longer than 3 months (without border crossing) as the  Sydney consulate told me?

  8. I've been granted a non-immigrant visa type O with Multiple entry by the Thai consulate in Sydney for one year because my son is studying in Thailand (non immigrant visa type ED )and we are in Thailand since June 25th ,we've a stamp on our passports  saying "admitted until 22/09/03 ".The thai consulate in Sydney told me that we just have to go to the immigration bureau in BKK to have a further 3 month stay (without border crossing) ansd so on for the year to come, but I'm a bit skeptical since I read in this forum that a border crossing is compulsory...

Can anyone in the same case tell me what to do?

  9. Thanks very much Richard for your reply,

But I don't understand how it's possible to stay 9 months with a tourist visa that has a validity of 3 months,I thought that it would be possible to stay for 6 months with a double entry assuming that you use the second entry just before the end of the first 3 months but how is it possible to use the 3rd entry 6 months after first arrival if the validity of your visa has ended ?But maybe that you can have a 6 months tourist visa in your country ...it's apparently not  the same for me since the consulate in Sydney told me that the validity of a tourist visa is only 3 months...
