  1. Prior to comment I use to check sources, especially here in Thailand.

    Here is the result:

    http://www.nationmultimedia.com/2010/12/28/national/Alcohol-banned-in--110-parks-30145335.html

    The Nation

    Published on December 28, 2010

…….The proactive stance followed the case of an engineering student who stabbed someone to death in Khao Yai National Park during a loud drinking party among student campers on December 26 Sunday.

Talking at the news conference about safety measures at national parks from now until January 5, Suwit said the National Park, Wildlife and Plant Conservation Department had yesterday announced the alcohol ban, so as to prevent drinking tourists from making noise and disturbing other campers or wildlife.

So, now go on with your valuable comments.

  2. Prior to any activities I would rather advise you to check your land owner certificate.

Assumed you (nominees) received a fully certified and verified (Land Department)

Chanote, then the proof of land ownership is easy over the years.

A wall would be enough and make sure nobody occupies the land which could lead to disputes.

The nominee involvement could create disputes to the point of losing the money for buying the land.

  3. Hi,

I sent you a PM 4 hours ago, did you not receive it?

    Martin

    Dear Martin,

I'm still waiting to help you (see my previous post) even it is 02:00 am, because

    a child needs help.

I expected to receive your contact 1 - 3 hrs ago, at least.

Ok, take your time (what about your son) I will close now, because I have to work hard.

No I didn't receive until now.

Martin, thank you for your response (explanations), we will proceed as agreed on.

  4. “……but when we tried to go there and called them they were very aggressive

with us telling us to go away or they would call the police and complain

that we forced our way into their house, saying they had many friends in their local police and could cause us a lot of trouble.”

    Ok, Martin,

I do have connections to speed up police reactions on this case.

If your wife is involved, then the things are becoming complicated,

which means a juvenile court case should be applied for by your

    specialized lawyer.

Assumed you may need my help, please contact me directly.

  5. What does this mean for those of us who go to Penang for a triple entry tourist visa twice a year?
The tourist visa is not mentioned in this announcement. Therefore, this announcement means nothing for you.

However, if you are working illegally in Thailand you should nevertheless do whatever is necessary to get legal. The basic policy seems to be the removal of foreigners working illegally in Thailand and if this new rule does not stop them the government may have other ways to do so.

    ---------------

    Maestro

Personally I do not understand the excitement of several members this forum caused by the new tourist visa on arrival regulations.

The typical tourist will come to Thailand most probably twice a year in maximum.

“Tourists” who are seeking other activities than normal tourists normally are looking for, should apply that visa type suiting their activities.

In Europe you have to play by the law, why not here in Thailand?

You are guest of this country - behave accordingly and you will have no problems at all.

By the way, the “new“ rules are just a consequent follow up of the spirit of old rules and visa regulation. Unfortunately the applicants over stretched old conditions too much.

  6. Yes, I do. We bought 3 rais and house for our personal residence. Location Bangkok.

    Bush

When you say 'we' do you mean your Thai partner and you? If so, is it not true that Thai Land Laws allow your Thai partner to purchase land, but not you?

Land ownership I seem to recall is an emotive issue with most Thais.

    :o Laulen

Please check the law. There are several exemptions.

  7. To the ones who replied, thank you.

All of you ( who replied ) passed the test of tolerance!

What is now the difference between your reaction on my comments, and Thaksin's reaction on the human rights "report"? To ask you is most probably useless or not?

Viva the American free speech! Viva the American double standard.

Again thank you! You confirmed exactly what's all about: Free speech.

  8. I read your comments, opinions not only this topic concerned but also a lot of posts concerning various matters.

I'm deeply shocked by the bottomless standard of discussion. With a very few exemptions, the entire forum always missed the point to be discussed. Polemics and irrational claims are favoured instead of going deeper in to the subject.

It seems to me ( few exemptions ) that all of you don't like Thailand or the way of living here.

If you can't behave as a guest better go back to your home country – or is this not possible?

Free speech: Yes, I agree but in a manor not to insult other people.

Facts: Yes facts have to be discussed but not allegations. Stick to what is proven and not what you think it could be or should be.

To make it clear: Thaksin's policies are beyond my understanding and are sure not acceptable for me. But he has been elected and came to power in a similar way as Bush.

Whether or not the State Department is publishing human rights reports or not is up to the Americans. Whether Thaksin is reacting on such report is up to him. If Thaksin is disappointed, and is calling the Americans useless friends, why not? Free speech as you proclaimed nosily.

Human rights should be discussed in a much more precisely way and not with arguments as such: Thailand needs the American, but the Americans do not need Thailand. Who is pushing for globalisation, but at the same time not for human rights ( but for business rights )? Who doesn't sign up the environmental act? What about human rights? Who does reject any responsibility for the mass use of Orange agent? What about the victim's right? And so forth.

Whether or not Thaksin lied and betrayed the public is a Thai affair not yours. If Bush lied and betrayed the public is not an American affair only, because parts of the world are suffering.

Finally, human rights are not limited country borders and are not the invention of the Americans. Whenever human rights are spoiled justice should come to help. Polemics are contradicting this issue.

    Regards

  9. According to circumstances I know (from this article ) are not pointing to any kind of self destruction.

Indeed several cases, past 18 years, are obviously conducted in almost same or similar manor, and had been put ad acta as suicides. Not one embassy – so far as I got to known – had opposed the official explanation of death – with or without an autopsy.

The reason for this is, that the embassy has to wait at least 1 – 3 months to receive an official report ( whereby relatives of the victim are allowed to take the corpus after autopsy, immediately back and to burn it ).

In several cases stuff of embassy changed. In other cases the corpus had been sent back to the country of origin and there, relatives are not taking action.

Nearly almost of all such cases had been burned in Thailand prior to the release of an official autopsy. Both foreign and Thai authorities are suggesting this way – verbally – and relatives are saving substantially money by not returning the corpus to its home country.

Everybody becomes happy - except the one who had been killed.
