The immigration queues at Heathrow are a national disgrace. I Dont know what peoples problems are with the taxies outside bkk. Get in taxi. Ask for meter..if no Meter get out of taxi. Repeat until taxi is found that will use meter. Tip the driver. Move on. Dont stay down shukmvit road if you Dont want to see that sort of thing. Take.your kids to butlins not Thailand. Heathrow is a dump and ANY black cab outside will rip you off have you seen the price of a London black cab recently? . Black cabs won't exist in 3 years they will be a novelty like old red buses only used on some tourist routes.

I was once a night in Baiyoke Hotel with GF and my children, for the night from 31.12. - 1.1.

One of the 50th + floors, had a good view at a bigger fire work on a plaza next to the Baiyoke,

also it was not a long fire work, you have to check the side. Think - direction to bts siam station.

Was with a booking site short before arranged, only half day before check in, not so expensive, same now, I checked, is 2.000 - 3.000 Baht, depending on the floor. Agoda.

Worth it? Was ok.

Central World? I was not on any party there, but I was there and the fire work was realy very short and the masses had been so much, it was frightening! Not again for me.

I was with my wife trying to buy a 2baht necklace 2 days ago in hua seng gold shop in bkk. They were charging 2.5% to pay with a UK credit card and they would only accept the card with my passport. I only had a photocopy of my passport on me and they would not accept it.

According to my wife this is the best shop to buy gold from. (It was absolutely packed and all of the other gold shops in the area were completely empty). We plan to return in a few days with my passport... Its a shame as it looks like the gold price has increased a bit now. Does anybody know an alternative place to buy gold that doesn't charge the credit card fee?

Has anybody applied for a uk settlement visa in Bangkok recently? I am trying to gauge processing times. The official website says most applications are decided within 60 days. However when my fiancee applied she was told it would take 3-4 months by the staff at the visa office.

Any thoughts or recent experience?

My wife bought a winter coat online in Thailand but she ordered the wrong size. She asked the company to exchange it for another size and they refused. Its still brand new and never used. She said if you exchange it then she will continue to be a customer. They said no. Makes no sense to me. Smile and move on and learn I suppose!

Hi thanks for your message. They said that they will use all of the documents listed above. They simply said that they will present it in such a way that its clear that I do take home more than the requite amount. I'm not sure if I can name them here but they do have solid reviews online. They were well aware of this problem for contractors. I am going ti get a few more quotes etc but do far this comonay are the only ones that have solid online reviews.
