"Close enough" for your narrative, yes, but it wasn't two years old when he bought it...if it was, he would have responded to those who asked him the date he bought it.

The car was sold as a new car but was produced in january 2021 and used as a show room car by Mazda

The OP does not need to worry about defamation, thinking the Mazda a going to sue a customer that for complaining about perceived quality issues is silly.

If the OP squeaks direct to Mazda they will likely make it right. He won't get a new vehicle but they might clean up his wheels and give him an undercoat of some-such.

In any evert, there does not seem to be anything to really worry about.

Mazda wont acknowledge the warranty claim. They say more or less it is our own fault

  3. I have now found out that the car is produced in january 2021 and was used as a show room car. Must be the reason for the corrosion. The car looked fine outside and inside and unfortunately I did not look underneath as I assumed it was a new car. The odometer showed 89 km.

Looks like the lacquer on the wheels is breaking down and allowing the alloy to corrode.  Common on much older cars, and ones that have been driven regularly through seawater. On older cars you just remove the lacquer and polish the wheels.  Unusual on a new car though.

I see in the news that nine owners of defective Mazda 2's had to complain to the Consumer Protection department, and eventually Mazda were forced to pay compensation and recall all effected models.  Looks like you may have to make a formal complaint?

I think I will. Thank you for your reply

What does the blue book say about owners, you may not be the first one, or it was flood damaged and parked up, probably trying to find someone to buy it....:whistling:

I still have red plates, and that book does not say anything about t6his car, the details have not been filled in

Corrosion of steel and aluminium would not occur on a 3-month old car, unless it has been driven in a severe marine environment. I doubt the car is new, its age can be verified with the VIN.

As for what to do, this is Thailand. Buyer beware.

It is produced sometime in 2021 according to the VIN number

Minor surface corrosion is common on full chassis vehicles so nothing new there on the BT-50.

Mazda will not change the chassis under warranty, nor will any other manufacturer.

There is also corrosion on the alu wheels

Is there some information missing from your post. You say that you bought the car new, and it is now only 3 months old. As far as I know, all Mazda cars come with a 3 year warranty from new, so I don’t understand why you have problem.

Mazda dealer won't recognice the warranty claim. He says it is my own fault and due to the way the car is driven, even though it has only been driven at larger roads
