I am in a similar mind to all the above posts.
In the past I have only transferred money to my Thai account when needed and have used the letter of income from my embassy (Australia) as this is no longer available, I will have to use the 800 or 400 K options, as I don’t like the idea of monthly deposits into my Thai bank account.
I will follow closely, I still have a couple of weeks to decide.
I am married, so either option is available.

Hi.
I am renewing my Non O Visa based on Retirement.
This year I am going to use a Stat Dec. I have been to the Australian Embassy and have had the Stat Dec witnessed and stamped.
My question. Does this document need to be translated into Thai ? If anybody else uses this method any tips would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Handy, and agrees pretty well with the Thai 600 BTU/m2 guesstimate. For our room the Aussie calculator comes out about 10% lower than the guesstimate.
Thanks mate. Information and app a great help. About to put AC in my house in Korat, understand the size now but still undecided about using inverters ????
Any advice about brands in Thailand. I know everybody has favourites but thinking of using Daikin, would only run AC a few hours a day. Is added expense warranted, probably 18000 BTU and above.
Any advice appreciated.

Yes I agree. Jomtien Immigration very well run and never a problem when you ask a question. Hope it stays that way.

Brilliantly stated!first of all, there is nobody in this current government that has any clue what they are talking about when it comes to IT infrastucture .....fact
and, who ever is telling you that a single gateway is advancing Thailands IT infrastructure is telling lies or they have no clue either
expansion not contraction is what most countries aim for - the argument is usually who is gong to foot the bill
it seems in Thailands case they want to spend money to contract the IT infrastructure - honestly, how stupid is that
it's like buying the latest brand new SUV and paying someone to covert it to a one wheeled vehicle after he convinced you it would perform better ????????
stop this nonesense now

You are joking right ? There must be some logic in your argument but I fail to see it.
The general public feel safe if there is a competent and professionally run police force. Misinformation , conflicting information and silly information is no way for the public to feel protected.

I agree. However it doesn't look good for the Thai economy or Government to say that tourist numbers are falling.

New to Korat not new to Thailand. Are there any coffee shops to get a decent cup of coffee in town.

Happy New Year....immigration swoop on 83 year old Brit on 4,929 day overstay

Why is it that, police in Thailand always seem to find the oldest and most vulnerable of expats. I doubt wether they would arrest a strapping 6 foot overstayer or probably when he first overstayed he was a strapping 6 footer and they waited till he was old enough for the police to handle.
