  1. According to Siam Legal:

Rex: Sawasdee! I am your chat representative from Siam Legal International. How may I help you today?

    : good afternoon Rex

: my question is not for me - I am totally legal with business and work permit - but what do I advise my customers.

: Customers of our resort have a habit of staying in Thailand in our place for 3 months in a row, every winter. So long stay tourists. What kind of visa do they need with all the new rules?

: Nationality: 1 couple is English, 2 couples are Dutch

: so with no intention to stay permanently and also do not for work. All are pensioners who just love to ride their bikes in our hills.

Rex: Tourist visa issued by the embassy is alright

Rex: It should be no problem

Rex: I guess they visit once a year?

: do they need a border crossing

: once or twice, depending on their free time and budget wink.png

Rex: No border crossing, they are given 2 months at the airport plus 1 month extension

: or does the embassy also issue tourist visa for 3 months?

: the extension to apply at immigration as usual?

    Rex: Yes

Rex: tourist visa is only 2 months per entry and it can be extended for 1 month

Rex: They can also get 3 months Non O visa from their countrie

: Thank you, that is what I wanted to know

    Rex: countries

Rex: Thank you for your time. Should you have further question or other inquiries, please do not hesitate to contact us. Good bye and have a nice day.

  2. My sister in laws house has now been demolished

The other sister in laws house is at the moment unliveable and likely to be demolished

They are now living in the rice shed on the farm because they have dogs and livestock to look after

The 83 year old neighbour had a wall fall on her and later died in hospital from a heart attack.

    Yeah nothing happened !

    Absolutely pathetic Trolling!

I feel for your family, have seen the devastation. That's why I got mad too.

But Thai people are strong and resilient, they will overcome this disaster like they overcame so many before with their strong sense of community and solidarity.

    Good luck with the rebuild.

  3. Just for your attention: this picture is from a wall in a hill tribe village, surely not interesting enough to find this serious.

How foolish was I to think this would be.Those people don't need our support, do they......

Just go babbling about that nothing happened here, it's just those inferior mountain people that got hit.

My own home, yes nothing wrong, still standing without even a crack in the wall, don't worry about it.

Also my holiday park, which is built under the strict earthquake construction codes, has no damage.

How silly of me to feel for the less fortunate, and how stupid to even go outside when the earth gives another roar.

Nothing will happen right???????? In fact Nothing Has Happened according to the know-it-alls on this forum.

Thanks for sharing your knowledge with me, I am a lot wiser now.

FEAR is what happens when you do not prepare and your Thai built home is in rubble at 10pm, AND YOU DONT KNOW WHERE TO GO

BECAUSE YOU DIDNT HAVE A PLAN"

Sorry, but what is this for nonsense, I can be scared AND be prepared!!

Make no mistake, I have my escape plan and route fully in my head, and all in place; I am pretty sure I will not end up under a pile of rubble, but believe me...... I HAVE REASONs TO BE ANXIOUS AND THIS SITUATION SCARES THE SHIT OUT OF ME.

You take the place of those in Phan, Mae Lao, and Mae Suay and then tell me you are not impressed by the ruling of the earth and your adrenaline did not raise.

If you do not know what we are talking about, don't talk about it!

And do not insult those that are in this situation and express their feelings.

  5. I can tell you, this is definitely not a laughing matter.

Yesterday around 6 PM another shock rattled the city, scary as hell.

Ever since the first quake the ground has not stopped moving, no kidding.

I stay in the area, my parents live here too, so need to be with them when it gets serious.

I believe we have not seen the end of this.

2011 was different, we felt the shock with epicenter in Tachilek (Burma border) but not so many aftershocks and definitely not more than 2 days after.
