Hi all,

I am going to pattaya on fri. I have a small metal plate in my head from a previous wound i received.

I have a stopover in Tokyo. I anticipate to set off their metal detectors with my plate, what is the best way to explain this to them as I may be a little zoned or inebriated as I get very nervous flying. 

I have an x-ray of my skull, maybe i should put this in my back-back and show them.

Any of you guys share the same problem

Jeffery, The metal plate will not be a problem, just explain to the security your situation.

You might want to unstrap that cell phone from your head though. Not only is it abnormal, but will surely draw their attention.

Has anyone tried to grow tobacco? My Thai father in law is a sucker for the smokes.... but havn't yet taken the time to try to grow it. Being a native Virginian I figure if anyone can grow tobacco in Thailand it would be me.

Hey buzz1812, I respect you for looking out for your friend, as I would do the same. That is what being a friend is all about. I personally would work a second job to get my friend out of there regardless of how stupid he was.

Steve is not a personal friend of mine or the majority of us. Why should we visit or write him? Because he is a farang.

Why should I send him money to buy twinkes in the prison store? There are Thai children that I would much rather feed rice.

This is a reminder for us all if we choose to see it as that. To make the right choices. When you drive a car drunk, have unprotected sex or decide to make money illegally among other activities you open yourself to face the consequences of these actions.

Everyone knows that illegal activity lead to 1 place, no matter what country you are in. The sentence may vary but whatever it may be it was earned. There are repercussions for illegal activates, Steve made the wrong choice and I am sure he certainly realizes it now.

This is proof to the majority that by making the right choices, although not always easier are the right choices. One bad move and it is over, you can't rollback time. Steve ruined his life, reading his story and learning assures me of not repeating his mistakes. Hopefully that is true for us all reading his story.

I have been reading the forum for about 6 months pretty much everyday. Have yet to post but it has been a wealth of information on all sorts of topics. Some extremely pointless and some extremely helpful. I have been to Thailand many times and now in December I am heading to Udon to live permanently. Anyone who has made the move knows all the crap you have to think about. Reading other users ideas, ordeals and suggestions has hopefully pointed me in the right direction. Anyway as far as addicted.....hmm beer chang or Thaivisa forum.......hmmm ###### I guess I could be addicted to both so I choose drinking a beer chang while reading Thai Visa forum.
