  1. I guess the question should be,

"Does anyone know anything about the company and their water treatment methods? "

There IS a big difference in bottled waters. Not just in Chiang Mai, but everywhere.

From particulates, heavy metals, e-coli, amoebas, giardia, pesticides and other chemicals, rat shit, radiation, etc., etc.

Filtration and treatment methods vary, company to company.

Some hotels send the kids around back to refill the water bottles from the spigot in the street.

Some big name water bottling companies have been found to be using untreated tap water.

Price is not a good indicator of purity.

Testing is the only way to know.

Clean water is important for good health.

Depends on what you are interested in ingesting.

  2. Sometimes the doors with tempered masonite finish are smoother and better than plywood for a desk top. Not sure if they exist here............?

I will check Global House again... maybe they were out of stock when I went there about a year ago.

    thanks for the replys

  3. Last night i met a friend who own the same model. We both tried first time the kick starter. His motorcycle is about 1 year old. My only 6 weeks. He was not able to start the engine. My attempt was successful. Easily to start.

Ask your friend to try kicking it once or twice with the ignition off, and then kick it with the ignition on....... and see if it starts.

Glad to hear that yours started right up.

    Thanks

  4. Ok.

Put on center stand and kicked twice with key off then switched on and started @1st kick.

    papa al

I tried your method this evening AND IT WORKED !

    Talk about bazaar and weird.

Cold engine, two kicks with ignition off, turned on ignition, one kick and it started.

Turned it off, turned ignition back on, kicked it over four or five times, wouldn't start.

Turned off ignition, kicked 2 times, turned on ignition, kicked once, started right up.

When I have time I will try just one kick with ignition off,,, then see if it will start right up with one kick with ig on....

If anyone else has a Nouvo SX 125i or Mio 125i,,, give this a try and report back. It would be interesting to know if it really works on more of these model bikes.

Hey al ,, I don't know what prompted you to try it that way,, but I am glad you did.

    Thanks very much.

    ALRIGHT !! INNOVATION !!

I will try that method tomorrow.

If it works I will contact Yamaha Corporation and suggest that they add those instructions to their owners manual.

(brake lever does not need to be pulled when kick starting,, only when electric starting)

  6. Well........ I managed to get it started two times... out of about 12 trys.

It started without pulling on a brake lever. So it doesn't matter if the brakes are on or not.

Almost feels like a loose connection somewhere. Won't start and then out of the blue it starts right up,,, then won't start again.

Screw it, at least the electric starter works.

  7. I bought a 2012 Nouvo sx 125cc a couple months ago.

It runs fine and starts with the electric starter quick and easy.

I have tried to start it with the kick starter and can't do it.

Kickstand up, ignition on and fuel pump engaged, brake lever pulled, battery fully charged...... no action.

    Not even a pop.

    Any sugestions?

Any Nuovo sx owners out there that can start theirs with the kickstarter?

  8. Hello.. I started this topic.

    Thanks everyone for your input.

I am a mechanic and have not had much experience with semi-auto and auto shift motor bikes, (mostly cars)..but am interested in how they work, etc.

My son and his wife and I will be living outside of Pai for a year or so. Just easy riding to town and around the local countryside., (no trips to Chiang Mai).

I have owned a bunch of motorcycles , but not for many years.

My son can ride but his wife has never driven a motorbike.

We will all be sharing the bike so, it looks like an automatic makes the most sense.

It's time to rent a few bikes and see how they ride.

I am not stuck on Honda. The Yamaha Nouvo sx 125cc or older Elegant 135cc is looking pretty good for our purposes. And like most people here have been saying, take care of it and it will last a long time, no matter what bike it is.

    Thanks again for your info.
