I am a retired Kiwi on NZ Super, my husband who is also retired is an Australian receiving Centrelink pension and we have been living in Thailand for over 12 months. Prior to Thailand we were living in NZ. My husband’s super gets paid into our NZ bank account as does mine. I am happy with my NZ Super but Centrelink take 50% of my NZ Super, count it as income against my husband and they have reduced his pension payments since December 2017. I say that it’s wrong, we are being penalised. Centrelink say the rules changed 1 July 2017. If we were both an Australian couple living in Thailand we would both be in receipt of a couple pension rate and would not be penalised. I would be interested to know if any other Kiwi/Aussie couple are experiencing anything similar and what did you do about it. Knowing Centrelink I don’t think anyone wins.

As of today more than 3,600 aftershocks have been recorded by "GeoNet on Twitter"
Whale Watch Kaikoura posted a video on their Facebook page with the news of the first whale sighting at about 10:45 this morning, this is good news and good for the community.

Yes its International Rescue, 4 Navy ships from NZ, and one from Canada. The seal breeding colony has been destroyed, the seabed at Ward Beach has risen 1.8mt, plenty of Paua on offering. Enjoyed reading all the above. I'm Kiwi currently on the NZ/AUS agreement and living in Australia. When I lived in Chiang Mai I received 472/540 proportional rate of portable NZ Super and NZ paid me the rate of living with someone which is less than the living alone rate. I questioned them and they said they always pay the lower rate. Just after some advice. Thanks
