The lovely peaceful protesters did tear down the gate. The whole place is private. They were trespassing.

Now the prices are up friendliness down, everywhere, bars,restaurants, shops, markets. Even if I can speak basic thai. Ok I stop being so negative,Thailand still have good sides I guess I am just disappointed.

Sure. I would not go back to Thailand now. I am sure EVERYONE from taxi drivers to the market lady would overcharge me not double but triple and more.

I think what many of you good folk are forgetting is the ritual of the Son in the family going to the monastery is probably one of the most

I did not realise exactly what a huge event it is for the family until I attended an event for the brother of my GF.

What some posters are failing to acknowledge, is that there is not one size fits all. The style of celebration, duration, lavishness, is going to be different across areas of Thailand. It could depend on social standing, finances, size of family, location, belief in the process, ecetera.

Well she said better if the guests are not drinking alcohol, might they go "crazy". Btw 800 people donated 87 000 B.

Yes my wife invited a bit more than 800 people. Of course they didn't come at once. Some came Friday some Saturday, Sunday morning... But we didn't sleep much,get up at 3 a.m, fell in the bed at 11p.m and this for 3 nights. Koen was 30 days in the Wat.
